About this property
Silver Spur Cabin explore Wichita Mountains near Cache Medicine Park Wild West
The Silver Spur Cabin celebrates the Wild West Era. According to legend, many notorious outlaws passed through our area. Belle Starr and Jesse James were said to have used the area to hide treasure and evade the law. Rumor is the hidden treasure from these bands of outlaws is still waiting to be discovered.
Nestled at the foothills of the Wichita Mountains, The Lazy Buffalo has 13 individually themed Cabins and a Bunkhouse. Each is uniquely decorated to capture the essence of the Wichita Mountains and the history of our hometown.
Many say that The Lazy Buffalo resembles an Old West Town. Our Cabins are similar to a classic motel layout. There are charming touches throughout the property along with modern offerings such as Wi-fi, Netflix, and self check in convenience.
The Silver Spur Cabin has two queen size beds and a walk-in tiled shower. Barn wood, knotty pine, and corrugated tin are used throughout the spacious cabin. Dark stained concrete floors and tin ceilings really add a rustic yet elegant vibe. The kitchenette area has a mini fridge and microwave along with table and chairs.
During your stay, enjoy complimentary Netflix and Wi-Fi or unplug and take in the beauty of our area. Watch as the sunsets over the plains from the long covered front porch while lounging in the wooden rockers. Southwest Oklahoma sunsets are truly worth witnessing.
Sip on a cup of coffee to get your morning started right and end your adventurous day gathered at the covered picnic area while enjoying smells from the charcoal grill. Yummy marshmallow goodness at the fire pit is a memorable way to cap off the evening or choose to relax under the stars in the back of our vintage star gazing truck, located just a short walk from the cabin.
Both kids and adults will love tossing horseshoes and playing old fashion games. Toss Frisbees at the disc golf stations, drop giant checkers to make a Connect 4, create music at our interactive music wall, or team up for some volleyball action. We are always adding new outdoor activities. Don't forget to snap some memories at The Lazy Buffalo photo ops.
LOCATION:
The Wildlife Refuge, which is just over 2 miles away, preserves 59,000 acres of mixed prairie grass, ancient mountains, lakes, and streams. Herds of bison, longhorn, and elk can be seen roaming free and there's endless recreations opportunities such as fishing, bird watching, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, and kayaking.
A paved bike lane joins the property and runs throughout the Wildlife Refuge. The Lazy Buffalo is less than a mile from the original Quanah Parker’s Star House and minutes from Lawton Fort Sill and historic Medicine Park so there's plenty to see and do nearby.

About the host
Hosted by Julie Logue

We have lived in Southwest Oklahoma for over 60 years and love our hometown of Cache. The Wichita Mountains are right in our backyard, and we get to enjoy their beauty every day.
In 2019, The Lazy Buffalo opened with 5 vacation rental Cabins. These Cabins were designed to capture the essence of the Wichita Mountains and the history of our hometown. In 2021, the Venue with Bunkhouse opened, and we carried over the same western vibe when designing the 2400 square foot space. Throughout 2022 and 2023, we opened 6 more Cabins and in late 2023 our first set of pet friendly Cabins opened.
Conveniently connected by sidewalks, it's just a short stroll being the bunkhouse, our Cabins, and 24 hour guest laundry. All together, we can accommodate up to 49 guests among the 13 Cabins and Bunkhouse.
We are blessed to be family owned and managed. Our favorite thing about hosting is seeing multi-generation Families gathered around sharing quality time together. Should you need anything, our home is only 2 blocks from the Cabins. We hope you make wonderful memories while being our guest at The Lazy Buffalo.
