Sugar Mountain getaway with a sweet view!

Cozy three-bedroom, two-bath cottage with an open floor plan designed for relaxing and entertaining. Gather around the updated gas-burning stone fireplace or unwind on the comfortable sectional while taking in sweeping views of Banner Elk Valley and Beech Mountain. The home has been freshly refreshed and features newer appliances throughout.
Living Areas and Kitchen
The living room centers on a stone fireplace and a comfy sofa—perfect for reading, games, or evening conversation. The fully stocked kitchen makes meal prep easy and convenient, with modern appliances and ample counter space. The open layout keeps everyone connected while cooking and entertaining.
While the property does not have central air conditioning, every room is equipped with a ceiling fan. Thanks to our elevation of 4,250 feet, A/C is rarely needed! You can easily catch a crisp, refreshing mountain cross-breeze by opening the windows, slider, and storm door. Plus, we love the natural breeze that regularly rolls up directly from the Banner Elk Valley.
Outdoor Spaces
The deck offers both covered and open seating to enjoy layered mountain views. Outside you’ll find a cozy seating area with a fire pit and a unique Sugar Mountain ski-lift chair converted into a swing—great for relaxing under the stars.
Bedrooms and Baths
This refreshed cottage sleeps six comfortably:
• Primary: King bed with en-suite full bath.
• Guest room: Queen bed.
• Guest room: Two XL twin beds.
There are two full bathrooms, thoughtfully updated for guest comfort.
Location and Access
Located at the end of a quiet road, the property offers plenty of privacy while remaining convenient to Sugar Mountain activities—skiing, golf, tennis, and mountain biking are all nearby. During winter months, an all-wheel drive or four-wheel drive vehicle may be needed depending on road conditions; roads and the driveway are maintained as needed.
Safety
A RING floodlight camera is installed at the front of the house and up the driveway. It covers the fire pit area and the approach to the front door to provide security for both guests and owners.

This mountain house is wonderful! The view is spectacular and should not be missed. The house is clean, well stocked and has the perfect layout. Joe is a great host who is timely with his responses. You simply cannot go wrong with this house and location!

Clean place, awesome view. Cozy little spot for sure. You will see bear, deer, chipmunks, and maybe even a groundhog. Master bedroom has a great view as well. No AC, but open a few windows and doors and it cools off nicely. Will definitely come back again!

The property is beautiful. Greatly stocked with everything you might need. The view is amazing and the host communication and problem resolution was superior. We would definitely recommend the property to our friends and will be happy to return ourselves!

We had a wonderful time. Exactly the quiet get-away we needed. Appreciate the cleanliness! And you even provided handsoap at all the sinks!Our favorite spot was coffee on the deck in the mornings while enjoying the hummingbirds and the ever-changing fog and clouds on the mountains. And wine on the deck in the evening enjoying the sunsets and awesome views. The only downside during our stay was a strong , unpleasant odor in the hallway and laundry room, hall bathroom, and bedroom with 2 beds plus closet for that room. We were not using that bedroom nor the laundry so we closed those doors. But odor was still very strong. We would definitely return for a stay again, provided we were assured the odor issue was resolved. Despite that one thing, we had a peaceful, relaxing stay, great way to unwind, and a special time with our daughter whom we don’t see often. Thank you for providing your house so that we could meet and get away from hectic schedules for a few days. It was awesome!

Great stay and home. We enjoyed the house and it was well prepared.

Great home for a ski vacation at Sugar Mt. We enjoyed the home however the steep drive way to the house is difficult even with 4wd when it snowed.

We stay at a lot of VRBO's all over the country and this was the cleanest and BEST stocked house we have ever stayed at! Anything you needed was right at your finger tips. Up scale furniture, bedding and towels and decor. Wonderful place and the view is outstanding.

Beautiful view!

We enjoyed our stay there. A very clean place with every amenities one could need. The covered deck allowed eating out no matter the weather. The beds were comfortable. We had a problem with the internet service provider and tge host handled it right away. A great place to stay!
