This gated, oceanfront 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage is an ideal place to go for a cozy, cold-weather holiday on beautiful Vancouver Island.

The main floor has a modern, cottage-style kitchen, large living room, dining area, conservatory, queen bedroom, three-piece bathroom, and laundry facilities. On the second floor, guests will find two bedrooms, each with comfortable queen-sized beds and charming cottage furniture and an immaculately renovated three-piece bathroom.

Located just steps away from one of the most beloved, local sandy beaches, this cottage is the perfect location for winter seaside family holidays or group getaways. At low tide, you can bundle up and explore the expansive shoreline, try to catch a glimpse of some of the marine wildlife and groups with children will love having a colourful playground near the beach for those dry days.

Kye Bay Beach House is in an ideal location to explore so much of what the Central-North Island has to offer. Find incredible alpine experiences at My. Washington, unbeatable eco tourism and charters in Campbell River, delicious, local dining as well as exceptional boutique and artisanal shopping in Comox, Courtney, and Cumberland. For everyday groceries and amenities, the local Crown Isle Plaza on Ryan Rd. is where you’ll find the popular local market, Thrifty Foods, liquor store, pizza, Starbucks, and hardware store.

The Kye Bay Beach House is easy to access and close to many travel access points. The Comox Valley Airport (YQQ) offers flights from two major Canadian carriers and is only five minutes away from the property. If you’re arriving from Vancouver by ferry, the Nanaimo ferry terminal is an easy hour drive on Highway 19, Swartz Bay ferry terminal is three and a half hours away and the capital city of Victoria is a three-hour drive away from the cottage.

Wonderful getaway

We had an amazing getaway at this beach home. We enjoyed walks on the beach, and watching seals and birds. The home was comfortable, and had all the essential amenities for a comfortable stay. Rich walked us through the home, and was very welcoming, and gave us great recommendations for dinner. The home is also very close to Comox and Courtenay for a quick grocery/coffee run. We hope to return soon!

A Beautiful Oasis

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely stay here, visiting family residing in the area. The property was exactly as advertised, very clean and lovely and extraordinarily well outfitted with a great kitchen. Outstanding views, extraordinarily quiet and private and perfect little retreat. With the sunroom and the space available for out-of-doors enjoyment, this would be even more spectacular in the spring, summer and fall. For a winter visit the only shortcoming was that there was a beautiful fireplace that we were asked not to use and which would have been perfect for cool rainy days and nights. Thanks to Rich for his warm welcome and intro to the home.

Almost great.

This property was suitable for our needs for a short stay. On line amenities lists Keurig - there was none and there were no instructions for the appliances. Would have been nicer if one bedroom had twin beds instead of all queens. Would have been more comfortable for 4 adults. The house needed a good cleaning, carpets were very dirty and drapery needed repair. The bedding was clean but stained.

Great family getaway

This was a very nice home right on a beautiful beach. It is perfect for three couples. It was very clean and the kitchen was well appointed. It’s a bit older but some really great improvements have been made. There were just a couple of minor things that needed fixing which we mentioned. Would recommend this property.

Amazing Beachfront property!

We loved our stay, and the kids said “this would be even better in the summer, can we come back in the summer!?” My only recommendation is to streamline the reservation and check in process. Compared to Airbnb I felt like I had so much paperwork and too many emails to sort through in order to book.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Somewhat pricey, however, it was Xmas & prices for hotel/rental places tend to increase. Although, it was a great value. The kitchen had all the amenities you need to make a variety of meals.The house was sufficient for grandparents & family of 4 as there 2 bedrooms & full bath on 2nd for, and another bedroom on main, with access to another bathroom.No open fires allowed (wood burning), but propane fire pts are acceptable.The inside fire place was unusable, and the Apple TV was not user friendly. The TV is a Roku Samsung which is not indicated in the listing & probably helpful for people to know. The solarium is a nice added touch, had the weather co-operated it could have been used as an extra sitting/play area for the kids. As a suggestion space heaters would have been added bonus to sit & watch the birds and seals in the ocean.Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay.

December 2021 Stay

Lovely vacation home for our Christmas get together with the kids & grandkids. The house had all the amenities required for our one week. Although the weather did not co-operate. The only downfall was using the Apple TV and accessing the wi-fi on IPad, but cell picked up wi-fi no problem. Perfect house for 2 families to enjoy. Unfortunately, no open fires were allowed. Great scenery & got to see seals play in the ocean, right in front of beach house, as well as some other wild life. The solarium is nice, but would have been better if it is heated during the winter, just to sit in it & enjoy the view.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were very happy with our 3 day stay with our son at this Kye Bay, Comox location. We had a little glitch upon arrival when the door code didn't work, but cheerful Candice from EMR was available instantly, via cell phone, and was able to give us a back up code. Aside from the beautiful, peaceful location, we found many other amenities that were abundantly thoughtful in making our stay even more pleasant: almost every kitchen gadget you can imagine, several games, puzzles, and interesting books on shoreline birds, whales etc., flashlights, plastic wrap, tinfoil, wax paper, napkins, etc., good lighting inside and out, detergent pucks for the washer, extra bedding and pillows, plus cosy throw blankets for the living room. We found the $250 cleaning fee, along with the other added fees, to be expensive, compared to others. That aside, however, all in all, we would say it was a successful 5 star stay.

House was really just yards from the ocean .Loved the windy stormy days, being entertained by the hundreds of seabirds of all types and of course the seals House was spacious and well equipped. Two points to consider for winter rentals1 As the wood burner cannot be used some sort of electric fireplace would provide that cosy feeling2 The big sectional is against the windows which means the view is lost plus it can feel a bit cool sitting there
