⏤ YOUR SAFETY MATTERS ⏤ ・Smoke detectors ・CO2 detector(s) ・Fire extinguisher(s) ・Current permits and registrations
Note: there is a variety of wildlife in the area. Never approach, feed, or attempt to attract any animals.
⏤ ENHANCED CLEANING ⏤ Our housekeeping partner has always had a strict cleaning regimen that is performed after every guest stay. That is designed to increase protections for our guests and our team members.
・Hot Tub: Drained, cleaned/sanitized, and refilled after every guest; fresh Bromine added.
・Linens: laundered and processed in a commercial facility with temperatures that exceed those recommended for laundry operations; disinfectant added as appropriate; dried at recommended temperatures; and, packaged until put out for guests.
・We are inspected and licensed by Sevier County Fire Department.
・Being so close to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, we do occasionally get bears, bobcats, coyotes, wild turkeys, bats, snakes, scorpions, lizards, and other wildlife throughout the area, as does most of the region. Pay heed to all warnings and *NEVER* approach any wild animal.
・Our proximity to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park also brings exposure to a wide variety of insects and other critters. While we are on a comprehensive pest control regimen, we are limited in the use of some preventative measures by our location. Lady bugs are a common issue. They are harmless and considered a "beneficial species". We also see quite a few Asian beetles, which are similar to Lady bugs. As a result, you may encounter occasional insects or similar creatures in and around the cabin.
⏤ ROAD CONDITIONS ⏤
The private road to the cabin is only partially paved, with most of it being gravel and dirt. There are some places where the grade can be considered steep. During the wet seasons, potholes and ruts can develop from other vehicles. It is a privately-owned road we have no control over, but the owner does have it regraded as needed.
Low-riding vehicles (sports cars, some minivans, etc.), trailers, and motorcycles are not suitable for the private roadway.
It is best to have AWD, 4WD, or chains just to be safe as even summer rains can affect the road. You should view a video of the drive (after turning off main road) on by searching the Internet for "#mountainair37862". Past guests have said the video was very helpful.
MOUNTAIN AIR's driveway is a mix of gravel and dirt, but is generally well-maintained. We have parking for 2-3 vehicles, depending on size. Turning around involves a 3-point turn or more, again depending on vehicle size.
Please remember you will be staying in the mountains and mountain roads can be tough at times. We can not and do not guarantee any road surface conditions, especially during Winter. Most public roads are well maintained but can be winding, steep, and/or bumpy. It is not unusual to have roadways blocked or damaged by downed trees, especially after rain/snow or high winds. You are responsible for your own transportation. We cannot provide any transportation for guests. Weather conditions can be very unpredictable, and it is your responsibility to come fully prepared. We do not refund due to weather, road conditions, or the location of the property on the mountain.
⏤ WI-FI, PHONE, & TV SERVICES ⏤
Cellular signals are generally weak at the cabin.
We offer DishTV and Starlink Internet w/Wi-Fi (while generally 100Mbps or more, since it is satellite-based the speeds cannot be guaranteed and at times may not be suitable for streaming TV/video). Weather or other issues can affect their operation and performance.

Perfect place for a get away from the craziness of pigeon forge. Very convenient but you feel like your in own little world. Cabin was really clean and well stocked with everything you would need. The hot tub was great after long days of hiking. The drive up to the cabin is interesting as the owner notes on the posting. I wouldn't drive a car to the cabin. The owner worked with us to switch dates and he was amazing to work with. We will be back in the future
Communication and preparation by Chuck (owner) was fantastic. We had all of the information we needed and had a great stay. The beds are very comfortable and the cabin is relaxing, secluded, and extremely quiet and way from everything just like we wanted.

Such nice words, we might "borrow" some for the description! Glad you enjoyed your stay with us at "Mountain Air" and hope you might return sometime.
Location , the tranquility of fireplace in the living room and master bedroom. The kitchen was well stocked with needed tools and dishes . I wouldSuggest going with an all wheel drive car or 4x4 vehicle due to steep gravel road to the cabin. All furnishings are comfortable. The cabin is near all Resturant and country stores . We loved our stay . The host respond promptly if a there is a question or need . We recommend Mountain Air for your next stay .

Really happy to hear you enjoyed our remote cabin - such a great place to "get away from it all" for a bit!
Please do come visit with us again - we'd be absolutely delighted to welcome you back!
The information provided before our stay was incredible! Every attention to detail, including a video of the road to the cabin. The cabin is cozy and nestled in the wooded mountain. It is well stocked with everything you could need. The starter packs (shampoo, paper towel, etc.) are generous. Communication with the host was excellent and speedy! We highly recommend this get-away!

This was our third stay at this cabin. Very peaceful and quiet. Clean and well stocked, comfortable bed and everything needed for a relaxing stay. Secluded, yet near everything you could want to do. This will always be our first choice when visiting the area.

Great place
The cabin is secluded and as advertised. It is clean and so cozy. Great place to vacation!
The road getting up is rough but its the smokies so thats to be expected, just make sure you bring an suv or truck. Little sedans may have a harder time. Not a complaint about the place though, would definitely recommend!
Very secluded cabin but less than 10 minutes to main road in Wears Valley. Master bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was adequately stocked for cooking in instead of eating out alot. Bring your groceries and enjoy the privacy. The road is intimidating the first couple times you try it, but watch the video and drive slow and its no problem. Had a big black bear wander around the firepit our first day there. Highly recommend.

Thanks for the nice review! We agree 100%! Both of us are hoping we can host you again in the future.
Love the secluded area of the cabin. The road going in was no problem for me but anyone in a low car needs to be aware it is a little rough. But perfect for me & my family. The owner made sure everything is perfect and there was no issues at all during our stay.

Thanks for the nice words! The private road can have an issue at times and we do discourage low-riding vehicles while recommending either AWD or 4WD for most. REALLY glad you had a nice time at our "out of the way" cabin!

A Relaxing and Secluded Cabin
The cabin is a a short beautiful drive from Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and other small towns in the area. We enjoyed the seclusion it had even in the end of winter. There were a couple other cabins around, but we could barely see 1 up the hill. The 5 minute gravel/dirt road getting to it was fun in the wrangler.100% worth the drive up the steep hill and through a big stream crossing the road. Easy parking, but very sharp turn getting in.
Getting in the cabin is quite easy with the door code. We loved how dust free clean it was, with the welcoming cabin environment. The fireplaces worked great and added the nice cozy touch. There was plenty of space for 2 of us and a medium dog. More room for others to join if you needed with the full and twin bunk beds. The master bed was a were very comfortable king bed.
We cooked all 3 nights we were there. Be sure to stock up on food before getting into wears valley. They had a very stocked kitchen with lot of non stick equipment. We brought cast irons and a couple of baking pans with us as well as knives. However, they did have a nice knife set. They also had nice little unopened dish soap/sponge boxes. Be sure to bring foil, parchment paper or other items for food storing.
All the rooms very relaxing. The shower was nice, but the jacuzzi tub was even better. The hot tub was also a very rejuvenating addition. Nice view of the stream with a trail to it in the back yard. We were about a half hour drive to beautiful hiking areas. Im sure there were closer trails too.
Overall the cabin exceeded our expectations and Chuck & Vicki are some of the best host offering a top class experience!
Fantastic cabin! Very clean, cozy and comfortable! Spent Thanksgiving there and was very peaceful. Check in easy, owners very responsive. The only issue is....you need to make sure you go up to the cabin during daylight hours. The road is not great, very narrow and has been beat up. We arrived after dark and was a little sketchy to get to the cabin, but once there was very nice. After the first night, we made sure we were back in before dark. Grateful for the stocked kitchen as we had gotten groceries and cooked in the other option was to get takeout to reheat before you head back up the hill before dark :). Make sure you have a good vehicle - 4x4 would be best. We had a minivan and did the job. All and all, a peaceful property!

We're so happy you loved Mountain Air and found it to be a great secluded cabin!
Thanks for choosing to stay with us. We'd absolutely love to welcome you back again for another visit!
We've been coming to Pigeon Forge for almoat 15 years, and this was the most secluded and private cabin we've stayed in, and we were so happy with that feature. A 4WD vehicle is a must for this one, and our Durago was a champ. You wont have "scenic" views here, but you will have peace and quiet and no neighbors. The property was spotless, inside and out. We saw no spiderwebs/cobwebs, there was no musty smell. Fireplaces, hot tub, Internet and all appliances worked well. We enjoyed the shops and restaurants at the main road. This was just beautiful in November, but glad we got out before the snow. This will be a stunning property in spring with the wild rhodedendrum on the mountainside. Take a screenshot of the door lock code before arriving. Be mindful of all wildlife and livestock. We would stay here again.

Why they chose this property
Remarkable Mountain Air is very secluded, creating a forested retreat from the busy world for a bit and chances to enjoy nature. There are no other cabins in sight and, at night, the only sounds are usually yours and mother nature's. The grounds are only lightly landscaped to maintain a more natural feel.
What makes this property unique
The best part of Mountain Air is the silence. You can sit in the hot tub on the elevated rear deck and hear nothing but the wind in the trees and the seasonal rain-fed creek. It is the perfect home base for those who want to explore Cades Cove and the National Park by day and hide away from the world by night.
But, if you have a hankering for dinner theater, go karts, outlet shopping, or putt-putt, Pigeon Forge is only 11 miles.
