We had a marvelous stay in this beautiful home in Tahoma. The house was sparkling clean and very well stocked with kitchenware we needed to cook holiday meals. We sledded on the gentle slope on the side of the house, and we spent a day snow shoeing and sledding at nearby Sugar Pine Point. Next stay we plan to ski at Homewood which is just up the road.All the beds were comfy, and the bathrooms spotless with plenty of towels. We appreciate how owner Brian stayed in touch and responded very quickly to any and all questions. We’ll be back to enjoy more good times at this lovely home.

Beautiful home in Tahoma

We enjoyed our visit in Tahoma and this might be the cleanest house rental we've stayed in and everything was in great shape. Communication was easy and rental deposit was returned promptly. The layout of the house is great - upstairs is the social space, kitchen and primary bedroom/bath and two smaller rooms and laundry are downstairs. Very quiet neighborhood and two blocks from Sugar Pine State Park.

Fantastic, cozy, luxurious snow home

Had a lovely stay here post-Christmas with the family - one of the nicest vacation homes we've stayed in. Super clean, spacious, lots of great places to sit and hang out. Every detail in the home is really thoughtful - from a well-stocked kitchen that inspires cooking, to solid walls and floors (no creaking / hearing kids shout!). The garage was an unexpected blessing during the winter storms, as was the gas fireplace and stove that kept us all warm and fed during a power outage that took out the whole west shore (host was super responsive during all of this). Sledding hill on site + amazing trails just a few minutes walk through the neighborhood made this a perfect stay. Would 100% try to book this first next time we are in the area - summer or winter. Thanks!

Great family retreat, comfortable space, central Tahoe west shore

The only negative thing I have to say (to get it out of the way and I feel like it's misleading) is that there really isn't a "sledding hill" next to the house. There is a little slope in the ground on one side that someone could ride a sled down if they could avoid the tree and porch posts.... That said, you can go out and play in the snow when it snows, just don't plan on making a day of sledding without leaving the house and don't make that part of your decision to stay here. Everything else was as advertised and expected, 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, bunk beds in one downstairs room, washer and dryer and the "drying room" closet were pluses for us. Great big tub for our little one to "swim" in.... wonderful open kitchen and living space. Some odd things like taking pillow shams off before using pillows- just don't put them on if they are not to be used?? Both thermostats are upstairs and you have to kind of play a game with the fireplace and furnace temp settings to use the fireplace without making the downstairs FREEZING. The garage was large enough to fit our rental 4wd Suburban, so that was a huge plus.

Beautiful Tahoe Home Damage Deposit Required

This Tahoma home is beautiful and well decorated and within 2 blocks to a good small pizza pub and burger place. My family had a great and cozy 3 day weekend. We even had snow which made it more amazing! It was great having an indoor garage and the house is quite spacious. The downside is the owner. The heating system in combination with the fireplace is confusing and upon departure we could not set it as directed.. We were scolded upon our return home even though I texted the owner as we were leaving the property to inform him we couldn't set it properly as we left. He was not gracious about it. In addition, although it is very nice to have necessities at the ready in the home like dish soap, paper towels, etc., there is a note in the kitchen that states these items should all be replenished which is frankly, inconvenient considering the price point. Also, the beautiful refrigerator is filled with previous guests’ condiments that are unsightly and smell. Another issue was that the owner requested a cash deposit outside of the app which was unnerving. We were able to pay through the app at my request and he did return the deposit. Beyond the owner’s policies and less than hospitable tone, we loved the house!

Loved our stay!

We were 8 people in total, 4 kids and 4 adults, who stayed at this property in Tahoma in early March. This house was perfect for our combo - adults had their own room and space and kids had a room they could share. There is a small den downstairs with a TV that was also a perfect hang out space for the kids while not upstairs. The kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable and we all had plenty of space. In addition, highlights for us were the sledding hill adjacent to the house (was there when we arrived and our kids had a blast spending hours expanding and sledding on it), easy to go on beautiful walks right out the front door without having to walk on too busy streets, Homewood is 5 minutes away, Tahoma market 3 minutes away (walkable), easy drive to Tahoe City for dinners. This house was great in winter and I can see how it would also be great in the summer since it's so close to many hiking trailheads. When our kids were younger, we stayed in Truckee and went to Tahoe/Donner ski area. It was perfect when our kids were small, but they were ready for a slightly bigger hill. So this was our first trip staying outside of Truckee. We are 100% sold and we LOVED Tahoma. Our plan is to return here for subsequent winters.

wonderful house!

Our family enjoyed our stay.we would definitely book here again. Everything was very clean and well stocked. Bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious. Our power went out one night due to very high winds and the owner even texted to make sure we were ok and knew where flashlights and lanterns were located. The young kids loved the sled run next to the house. Location was great- close to a market, breakfast place and family ski resort.

Amazing property

Amazing property Our family of eight stayed here over the Christmas holiday and absolutely loved it. The great room is a perfect set up for family gatherings, the sled hill was endless entertainment and the overall vibe was so relaxing that we didn’t even mind when we had to stay extra time due to closed highways. Brian was amazing and very communicative. Can’t wait to return and stay here again!

Best house in 30 years

I have stayed in many houses in Chambers and Tahoma. This home was truly the cleanest, well stocked and organized home we have ever been in. We were truly able to walk in and relax immediately. Brian was immediately available if there was a question and extremely helpful. I can't wait for next year.

Lovely Spring Break Getaway

Wonderful stay! We thought the house was perfect for our family with teens. We were all impressed with the perfect little DVD library and enjoyed the games from the game collection. Perfect Getaway

Nice time in the snow

The market a mile away just opened so we were able to isolate even more than we expected. The sled run was perfect. Only the round saucers can be used otherwise it’s too fast & you lose control. Everything was in good working order and lots of basics to make meal prep easy. Having the garage during a storm was a huge time saver.

Perfect Place!

My husband and I stayed here with our two daughters, ages 4 and 6, and found this property to be absolutely perfect for our needs! The overall layout and floor plan of the cabin was spacious and smart. My daughters especially loved having the entire bottom floor of the cabin to themselves. In addition to their bedrooms, they were able to use the entire "living room" downstairs as a place to play with their toys, which helped keep the upstairs clutter-free for the adults. The owners were wonderful about giving us access to the garage, which was also very spacious. We brought our Ram 1500, which fit in the garage, along with bicycles, inflatable boats, beach toys, etc. There was even a large sink in the garage for rinsing out some of our beach toys and water shoes at the end of the day. The driveway was also plenty long to fit the truck WITH a four-bike bike rack fully extended without sticking out into the street. The cabin had many windows and two sliders, so it stayed light and bright throughout the day with plenty of fresh air. The downstairs stayed cool all day long, and the living room and master bedroom upstairs both had ceiling fans that kept the upstairs comfortable. The owners left clear instructions about where to find and how to use everything, including providing access to their online streaming accounts for the televisions. The wifi was exceptional in the cabin, so we could easily watch Netflix while having two computers going without any issues. I cannot emphasize enough how this cabin provided everything we needed. There are tons of closets and dressers that are empty and ready for renters to use. The pantry is large, giving you plenty of room to store your food items without cluttering the counters. The kitchen had loads of dishes, pots, pans, etc. And the owners have gone above and beyond to provide many "extras" that other cabins lack: hangers in all of the closets; aprons in the kitchen; all paper goods you may need; board games and books; plenty of handsoap, detergent, dishwashwer soap, trash bags, etc. I have been to Tahoe many times and never stayed in a property that was so well stocked and made me feel so at home. Finally, the owners were a pleasure to work with. They provided great flexibility with us given the Covid 19 situation and kept us updated as to what was open and closed in Tahoe as our travel date grew nearer. They were kind and easy to reach. I definitely plan to stay here again!

Winter: peace and beauty of the falling snow, grooming our sled run, skiing at Homewood, cross country at Sugar Pine Park; Spring: snow run off with spontaneous streams and waterfalls, blooming wild flowers; Summer: spectacular weather for hiking, biking and water fun, evening meals on the deck; Autumn: the fall colors and salmon run up Taylor Creek

Why they chose this property

Growing up, my family had a cabin in South Tahoe. I am forever grateful for my parent’s hard work and efforts to support a vacation home. From that cabin we would typically drive 20-40 minutes to spend a summer’s day at a desirable beach. As an adult, my wife and three children did the same routine in summer and made the 40 minute drive to ski Kirkwood in winter as it was more kid friendly than Heavenly just blocks away. When the opportunity came to purchase our own vacation home, we wanted a location that was less crowded than South Shore, would place us near a wonderful beach and an intimate ski resort. We found it in Tahoma. With Meeks Bay beach and Homewood Ski resort just 3 miles from the house, bike and hiking trails accessible without using the car, we couldn’t be happier with the location and the house is fantastic. We wish to share our experience and hope you come to call our house your vacation home.
