You’ve found it, this is the place! At Hidden Valley Retreat you can have that family getaway where you can relax (finally). Sit out on the back deck and enjoy the peacefulness of the water running along the creek, welcome the sun with a hot cup of coffee or even splash and play in a good ol’ cold mountain creek. Play a few rounds of horseshoes or try your luck at creek fishing. Who knows, you might catch a fish or two. Then you can spend the evening watching the glow of a warm, crackling fire in the fire pit. Hidden Valley Retreat sleeps 8 guests comfortably in 2 separate rooms; both have a door out to the deck. Each room has a queen size bed and a set of bunk beds. A wood burning fireplace, ready to cook kitchen, and charcoal & gas grill will round out your stay nicely. For the kids, there is a small play set off the front deck and a foosball table on the back deck – and the squirrels are always eager to entertain in exchange for a little corn!
Located in Smithville just 30 minutes north of Hochatown, Broken Bow Lake, and Beavers’ Bend State Park; Hidden Valley Retreat sits on over 20 acres that is available for you to explore. Pick one of the many hiking or ATV trails that are within 30 minutes of the cabin. Or you can take a day trip to Beavers’ Bend and Hochatown, or cross the state line to explore Mena, AR.

Loved sitting in the hot tub listening to the river! The kids enjoyed the playground & the adults enjoyed the fire pit! Super comfy beds for the adults!
Our family, including 8 year old boy and doodle dog, enjoyed every minute of our stay! The property and river were perfect for our active crew. We loved spending time on the porch, walking the property, and playing down by the river. We enjoyed eating breakfast and some dinners at Three Rivers Meat Company. We drove into Hochatown and Beavers Bend state park every day and the drive is worth it to have a large property to enjoy. We will definitely be back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Enough things to entertain the kids for several days. Lots of hiking and exploring within 20-30 minutes. We will definitely think about coming back!
It was very homey. We loved to hang out by the river and the hot tub! Oh my, the night sky while we were around the fire pit was absolutely beautiful too! I definitely recommend this cabin!😊
If you are truly looking for a get outta town and enjoy the family this is the place!! If you have littles you might wanna bring a potable swimming pool but other than that enjoy your stay!
We have staid here several times over the past few years. Always a nice, quiet place to stay - aptly named a retreat. Everything you need is supplied. If you like to be away from it all this place is for you!
Great cabin for those who want to spend most of their time at the Cabin. The commute to the attractions around Beavers Bend and Hochatown was a bit much. I missed a big fish in the creek behind the cabin. Now I am curious to what is in there
The cabin was infested with red wasps killed 15 inside the cabin. Got stung while I was asleep. Also the WiFi didn’t work. Tried contacting the host several times with no reply. Will not be staying here again. Beautiful spot not so great host
Flawless process for our mini vacation. Cabin was amazing and had everything we could need and then some. Beautiful relaxing view. Quite and secluded. Will look forward to returning in the future!

Hi we arrived on Thursday evening. The cabin inside is really cute. The outdoor furniture was not very clean. Of course it is outdoor furniture and we understand that. However, broken or weak chairs should be removed. On the site disclosure that internet is limited speed and limited data should be included. Especially since we only saw that information in your book that we could be charged for overages. How does one gauge that? . I tried to contact the managers through the VRBO site and then followed by email once we left a day early. No response at all. The creek/river was stagnant. The grass was high so we didn’t even walk down there. You may want to check some of your stairs. Some look rotten. Overall the cabin inside was nice. The stay didn’t meet our expectations especially for the price. We left a day early and notified by message and email but no response. Really disappointed in our stay and have no desire to go back.
The property was excellent. It was way out of town and secluded. We loved that it was on the river and had lots to offer. We were only there for 2 nights and were not able to utilize all that there was to offer. It would be perfect for a family because they had lots of activities to keep you entertained. The cabin was clean and well stocked. The only downside was the one bathroom which is fine for two people, but might be hard with a larger group. Highly recommend this place.
Hidden Valley was absolutely gorgeous! There were so many extras! I was the only one up for the cold and a fire, so I used the chiminea on the porch. It was so relaxing sitting on the porch watching the fire while listening to the creek and the coyotes. Such a relaxing birthday weekend for myself and I will definitely book again!
This is our third time staying at this cabin. We always enjoy being able to get away, and be able to bring our four-legged family member with us. The cabin has all the necessities, and we love that it is so remote. We enjoyed fishing in the stream and exploring the property. We made s’mores by the fire, played foosball, sat on the deck and enjoyed the peace and quiet, and laughed at the armadillos at night.
We will return, as out kids have such fond memories together as a family on this cabin.
Place was clean and fun, but weird. Good: clean, had a great time, location, privacy, access to river, tons of blankets, dishes, and towels. Bad: 2 propane tanks were both empty, oven wouldn't preheat, dirty dishes mixed with clean ones, really expired food (canned goods that expired in 2015 and more), random unwrapped luffas and toothbrushes, many missing dvds. I appreciated all the extra stuff, but it seems like the cabin was cleaned but not kept up with. Found a broken animal skull in the outside cooler. I would definitely go again and my kids had a ton of fun, but I just think the cabin could be kept up with better.

Lovely setting...but
The cabin is in a lovely setting and is well appointed BUT it seems that the owner is leaving it up to a leasing company that just doesn’t care. Many items needed restocking or repaired and the listing should be updated to reflect items no longer available. Huge disappointment was that the hot tub was left at 73 degrees so basically unusual for our stay. I specifically requested wood for a fire and it took 3 phone calls to be told there was ample wood on the property. Not true. It was wet and again unusable.
Flooring is in disrepair and the cabin needs general maintenance that the property management company doesn’t seem to want to do.
We had a great stay here. The cabin was nice and well stocked with just about anything you could need. My 8 yr old had a great time down at the creek catching fish. The grass was tall at the front and a path was mowed but in the visitor guide if you read it they use it as a hay field which is why it was tall-no big deal for us. It rained but it was peaceful to watch the rain on the lovely deck and play games with the kids. The hot tub was an excellent amenity but could use some chlorine as it smelled a little fishy. Overall we had an excellent relaxing stay and will definitely be back!
Absolutely loved this cabin! It was perfect for our getaway!
The cabin itself was really nice but the location was absolutely gorgeous! The creek is right off of the back porch and we loved that so much. Our kids had a great time discovering and adventuring this property. The fireflies were so beautiful in the evening, the owl was fun to watch, the little crawfish in the creek was a blast to try and find, and having it all in a peaceful setting with no one bother you was an added bonus. This property is outside of the bigger towns with all the attractions but we didnt mind one bit driving the 30 minutes to play in Hochatown or Broken Bow. The cabin has lots of things to do, it even has board games, movies and books. We will be visiting here again.
Hidden Valley Retreat was just I was looking for to spend a day with the grandkids & not have to leave the cabin. I loved the location. The house was a perfect setup inside & out especially the wrap around porch. It was secluded but close to a convenience store and about 35 mins. drive back to Beavers Bend State Park. I wanted to take the kids to the pond to fish but the grass was way to tall. Enjoyed looking and hearing the water from the back deck. We were able to walk to the creek but not able to get close to fish or explore because of high grass. I just wished it had been mowed. I do understand this place takes a lot work to maintain the grounds. The kids did see deer. We did miss the foosball table that was in the pics. the kids would have enjoyed it. The kids enjoyed the play ground set. We all enjoyed making smores at the fire pit and playing corn hole. I believe the kids & myself enjoyed the hot tub the most. Overall our stay was enjoyable & wouldn't mind coming back when it cools down.
I have no complaints whatsoever about this property. We WILL be back! Our whole family loved it - not a single complaint for any age group, and our dog wasn’t complaining either!
Cabin was very nice. Looked exactly like the pictures very clean and organized. Everything you need is there from bath towels to insect repellent. We only stayed for one day but wish we had more time. Only thing the cabin is very secluded so make sure you have food and drinks before 9pm. We found this out the hard way. Checking in and out was a breeze. Creek was very nice. If you like outdoors this is the place for you. We will definitely stay again
