Because of the privacy, unique layout, and proximity to Tamarindo beach, Casa Katarina is a perfect getaway.

Take advantage of the surf which has made Tamarindo famous. There are also wonderful tide pools to explore. At high tide just step right into the waves. At low tide enjoy wonderful beach strolls.

Centrally located

A little out of the way, but close enough to Tamarindo, avallanas, and playa grande. Various grocery stores close by. Horses, cows, monkeys, fruit trees... prompt responses from property management. And just enough seclusion

I have mixed emotions about our stay. The house is beautiful with intricate carvings in all of the doors. The pool was awesome, we spent the majority of the time there when we were at the house. It is nice that there are no neighbors and the property has numerous fruit/nut trees. It was confusing where we were going as there was no signage, turn left at the red double gate , drive on dirt path until the the white single gate. While the seclusion was nice, there was a large Ant mound near the back bbq. All food had to be kept inside the fridge, and all food in trash outside. Even with this done, we had sugar ants, red ants and large black ants in every room of the house. We had a fishing guide ask what had bitten my brother in law so badly. We also killed 2 huge spiders and had geckos inside the residence. Our host was quick to send over a can of raid after we told her we had emptied the can. The kitchen was stocked well enough with pans and such, but the knives were dull and you must bring your own salt pepper, seasonings, oil and coffee. They provided one bath towel per person, but no hand towels or wash clothes, bring your own swimming towel. I advised our host at 0934 on Wednesday that we were going to check out on Friday instead of Saturday, and no refund was given
