Wonderful location, serene! Had wonderful days exploring and beautiful evenings overlooking water and stargazing. Lito Lodge had everything you could need or want. Management staff friendly and completely helpful.
We had a wonderful stay at the Lito Lodge. The house was clean, appointed with everything we could need, and in a beautiful location. As many others have stated the master bedroom and bathroom are beautiful! I would highly recommend this to others and if we come back to the area we would be happy to stay there again!
We had everything we needed for a relaxing peaceful visit. A short 30 minute ride to Bar Harbor and Acadia. We were very glad to be away from the crowds.
Just.Wow! What a hidden treasure! Located at the end of a private lane, this house has everything one could possibly need. The master bedroom literally looks towards Acadia National Park as does the whole front of the house. We loved the front enclosed porch, the lawn chairs and endless fresh mussels we harvested from rocky shore below. Highly recommend renting kayaks from Scottys Kayak as the water is smooth as silk in the mornings. Harbor seals are a constant presence just offshore, along with dolphins and large schools of mackerel. There were 2 American Eagles located in one of the large trees near the garage. Main floor had the master bedroom, office/daybed, 2nd bedroom, large open living & dining area along with a well-lit kitchen. The front porch is an oasis itself, wonderful for reading, watching seals and relaxing. Downstairs was a 3rd bedroom, family room and laundry/bath. Very secure and private location. Ellsworth is 10 minutes away and everything on MDI is a short drive. The three of us had amazing time here and hope to be back soon.
I can't state emphatically enough how incredible this property is. Everything about it under-promised and over-delivered. There is nothing that has not been considered and included for your comfort and convenience. My 26 year old daughter, her boyfriend and I spent the week at Lito Lodge and could not have been happier. We set out each morning for the day's activities (hiking, biking, kayaking) and eating out and returned to a peaceful haven on the water. We had kayaks delivered to the property by Acadia 1 and had a wonderful time using them (sea kayaks with rudders). Communication with the host was practically immediate and I can't think of a single thing I would add/change in the house. Thank you so much. We hope to come again.
We booked this property for my family of four and my in-laws for a week long visit to the Bar Harbor-Acadia National Park area. We absolutely loved this house! The kids had immediate access to an exceptional stretch of beach and explored the area every day at low tide. The house's large all season room and beautifully kept back yard have amazing views of Mt Desert Island.
Be aware that the drive to Bar Harbor is about 30 minutes from the house. The travel time was far outweighed by the size of this property and lower price compared to lodging options on Mt Desert Island itself. We made trips onto the island every day and didn't find the drive difficult at all.
The master suite is outstanding. Huge bedroom and private bath with separate sliding door to the backyard. It's not currently pictured in the photos for this property but was fantastic. Our teens loved the living area and separate bedroom in the lower level and used it as their own suite for the week. We have already recommended this property to friends and family and would definitely stay here if we visit the area again.
The property was very nice. Views were amazing. Location is secluded and quiet. 4 bedrooms ( 3 up and one down) , and a mancave room great for kids or just some privacy. Master bath updated with large shower. Cedar wood ceilings and walls throughout. Great view to bay from porch, dining room, sun room, and master bedroom. About 30 min from Bar Harbor area and 15 from nearest grocery store. House got a little warm at times as no AC and not every room has a ceiling fan but has heaters should it cool down at night. During low tide can walk down to shore and explore a bit ( we saw some crabs). Kitchen has all that you need and expect. Games and books available in the downstairs man cave. Would suggest to add a set of darkening curtains in the master bedroom as daylight shines in around 5:00 am and gets very bright. Some furniture like in family room a bit dated and worn but sufficient and comfortable. Drive to property down a private and long gravel road was fine just bumpy at times due to some small potholes but manageable. Privacy is great as really only one neighbor but we never saw them. Hot water in shower was great and heated up quick. Washer and dryer and bit aged but worked okay but took a long time to dry towels and other items. Overall, I would stay again as view and privacy were amazing and very relaxing and would recommend to anyone looking for staying outside busy Bar Harbor and willing to drive 30 min or so to the city and Acadia Park. Ginger was great to.
The house was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed. We had a total of five adults and one child. I woke up early every morning and sat in the sunroom and watched the boats, it was quiet and very peaceful. Occasionally a seal would pop it's head out of the water. We had an issue with the dryer and Ginger went over and above and it was resolved quickly. We are very happy we chose to stay here.
We loved the hours we spent at Lito Lodge from the beautiful flowers that greeted us, to the super-clean house, the 180-degree view of the water, to the sunrise and sunsets. Hours in the sunroom will stay in my memory forever. Ginger was 100%+ responsive as we worked our way through 16 months of covid-19 challenges. The location served us perfectly as we explored the area from so many vantage points. This vacation rates a 10+ from us.
Truly a special place. We couldn’t have loved this house more! The owner is super responsive and obviously cares so much about this home. Everything was comfortably and just perfect. The new master addition is spectacular!
The Lito Lodge was even better than we expected. It was spotless, had comfortable beds, and the new master sweet is amazing. We enjoyed touring MDI and Schoodic, but the best part of the trip was watching the seals, porpoise, bald eagles and other shore birds from the sunroom or the back yard. We hope to be back soon!
My family and I had a lovely time visiting Maine and enjoying the Acadia park. My husband even said this was one of the most relaxing vacations he has had. This cottage is close to all the sights but far enough away to be quiet and private. The setting is just beautiful and we enjoyed watching the wildlife. Hope to be able to travel here again some day. Highly recommend staying here.
A beautiful home and property in a beautiful part of Maine.
The pictures don’t do this house justice. It’s beautiful inside and out. We spent a lot of time in the enclosed porch and outside. The kids really enjoyed how tidal it was, collecting rocks and shells. We rented a canoe and actually saw seals in the middle of the bay.
The drive is not bad to food and Acadia National Park. The house had everything we needed, plenty of room for the 6 of us.
We had a both restful and adventurous trip.
We loved staying here. The water and Mountain Views are spectacular. Very peaceful and serene. Being closer to Acadia and Bar Harbor would have been nice but the setting and views made up for that.
