Pictures don't do this place justice. We took over this very popular vacation rental property a few years ago and remodeled it from top to bottom as our personal home. Adding solar panels, chemical free pool filtration, enhancing the landscape and blending the home to the environment, we came to know Mango Tango as our own personal Garden of Eden.

We are living in the States now and using it as our own vacation retreat and are happy to share with you the magic of Mango Tango.

Property issues ruined our stay

The property is pretty. Owner is nice. We were there for 5 nights 4 days. Unfortunately the whole vacation was riddled with issues that took away from being to relax, which is why we paid so much. We have rented many houses and I have never given a bad review. This will be the first. The owner is nice but I don’t think he has the time to manage the property. The day before my journey I still had received specifics on how to get into the property. Luckily the owner assigned a local person to assist. The owner eventually sent the information after a panicked text from me just 12 hours before our flight. We arrived on Christmas day and the house looked like no one had been there in sometime. The curtains were drawn and the house was dark. The next day we ran our of water which was resolved in a few hours. But there was no kitchen light that night so we cooked in emergency lights. The washer is dryer is small and the dryer was screaming. It was awful. We take carry on only and with children you need to wash clothes. Every day the dryer made the worst screaming sound cause the dryer needs to be replaced. Apparently this was a know issue. This really upset me. I pay top dollar and quality was not there. The dishwasher made awful sounds too. The bathtub in the master bath does not get hot water. We like to use hot water at the end of the day after hiking etc. The bath tub needs to refinished properly. The stairs were dark and need repair. The list goes on.

Great view but not executive retreat

The property has a great view. We enjoyed our stay and it is only about 15 minutes from Charlotte Amalie to the house. The house needs a good cleaning inside and out. It is a bit outdated and needs to get new towels and linens. As others have said there are many steps and I would not recommend for young children. There are 50 steps from street to front door. I would recommend the owners/manager make sure to clean outside spaces (debris, bird droppings on chairs and tables) before arrival. The second bath only has the sunken inside tub which is not really useful. There is an outdoor shower just outside this bathroom. We used the grill a few nights for dinner. The pool small but nice for a cool float to relax. With some maintenance, cleaning and updating this would be an executive retreat.

House is great for older kids (wouldn’t do littles) The view is fabulous. The location is great proximity to Magen’s Bay. Grocery shop before going up to Northside of island - Moe’s on northside not open yet. Overall the house is great!

Wonderful Getaway

This property is truly an amazing escape! The beautiful greenery and the tucked-away grotto overlooking the pool make you feel like you're in a tropical spa. Then you step onto the roof, or into the home and feel like you're on the prow of a ship headed out to sea; the views are incredible! We were treated to several beautiful sunrises as small rainstorms swept across Tortola in the distance. One side effect of being so exposed is that windy nights are a bit noisy in the master bedroom. The kitchen is well-equipped, and we cooked at home most nights. This is in part due to not feeling confident driving on the left on the small, rough roads in the dark, but taxis are an option too. Everything is reasonably close; 5 mins to Magen's Bay and ~20 mins to everything else. Highly recommend Lindquist beach - swam with 3 sea turtles and good beachcombing! There were 2 beach chairs and plenty of blankets and snorkel gear provided with the property, which we made good use of. A couple minor downsides to consider: internet was spotty, especially for the Samsung users in the group it seemed, and in room AC units were a bit finicky as well. Also, not the best property for those that can't handle a couple flights of stairs, but it was perfect for our laid back group of girls! Thanks!

Wonderful Vacation

Our family had a wonderful and relaxing vacation at one of the most beautiful spots in the world! The house was very clean and had everything we could have wanted ( including snorkeling gear ). Robbie answered all of my questions almost immediately. We would definitely stay at Mango Tango again. We spent our days at Saint John and Megans Bay and then enjoyed family dinners and boardgames at night.

Million dollar view ...

... not a million dollar house. The Mango Tango was overall a disappointment to our family. Pros: - The VIEW ... amazing - Robbie was great ... made a special trip to get board games for our family and was VERY responsive to all my questions once we got there. - Ample NEW snorkel gear for use - short drive to beautiful beach - outdoor shower! - clean towels/linens - new grill that worked great! - AC units seemed to cool to comfortable temps - star gazing roof top Cons: - The pictures somewhat misrepresent what you will get. - there are no lounge chairs by the pool - upper deck had broken hammock/misc pillows but no chairs to go with them - there are no tables/chairs as pictured on front deck - there never was enough chairs for a family of four to all sit together outside - lighting in the pool was non-functional - the sunken tub was a HUGE disappointment. Water ran out of the bottom of the house as fast as it was filling - overall the house seemed dirty like no one had occupied it in some time - overall the house seemed dated and needed updating - raw sewage smell from front deck (maybe septic issue) Overall for the money this house did not live up to the cost. Despite the cons we enjoyed our trip to St Thomas and will return again ...

We had a wonderful time - the views from the house are just incredible!

The house is clean, and well maintained. The AC in the master bedroom was not working, which was not ideal, and the lights in the pool were also not working. Those are easily fixed, and having them work would make the house fire on all cylinders. The sound of the waves on the rocks is simply mesmerizing, and the house is not wanting for any accoutrements. Brandon was very responsive and helpful, and it would be great if the house came with a bit more detail about top beaches, restaurants, hidden gems etc. Far better directions to find the house, with detailed driving directions, with many landmarks should be provided.

Mango Tango felt like a second home. It is very comfortable, clean, beautiful, and dream-like. I HIGHLY recommend this gorgeous villa to anyone looking to stay in the Virgin Islands! You are constantly surrounded by amazing scenery and views and you will hardly want to leave to enjoy other parts of the island because you will be enjoying it all at the villa. Pictures just don't do the villa enough justice! It is far more beautiful than what you see in the pictures!! This is a home that I will definitely rent out again!

Delightful stay

My wife and I stayed at the Mango Tango Villa from 5/6-5/13 2014. The views were spectacular. The sunrise greeted us every morning for breakfast. The villa has constant ocean breezes which keeps you at the right temperature. The views of Hans Lolick and the BVI were beautiful. The pool and grotto were relaxing areas to hang out. The entire house was nicely decorated, and the WiFi was a big plus. Kitchen was nicely equipped. The stair case from the road to the villa could be a challenge for those with bad knees, but overall, it added to the ambiance and charm of the villa. Would definitely recommend it for a romantic getaway.

Beautiful, relaxing vacation

We had a wonderful week spent in this beautiful home on St. Thomas. The house is beautifully decorated and has everything you need. We spent every morning watching the sunrise and listening to the ocean as we drank our coffee. The pool is a great place to spend a lazy day or come back to at night after seeing the sites. I would love to spend another vacation here!

We loved the constant sounds of the ocean pounding against the rocks walls below the villa, as you look across the vast teal blue ocean (day of night). The location is minutes from Magan's beach, hiking trails, Utter delight (best milkshake ever!!), Old Stonehouse (unique food offerings), Thirteen (great views while eating -get there before dark). The villa has all the conveniences of home from wifi to cable tv to gas ranges and our favorite - gas barbecue. The villa is situated on a rock edge so you feel like you are the only one on the island as the waves create a relaxing environment that is peaceful, tranquil and safer - a great place to get away from it all. I would recommend a vehicle while staying at Mango Tango.

Fun in the sun!

We had an awesome time at Mango Tango, it had all the comforts of home! The experience was a very positive one, beginning with the initial contact and information provided by the owners to help prepare us for our time there. We had a week full of wonderful weather and spent our time roaming the island and hanging out at Mango Tango. One of the highlights for our family was spending time at Magen's Bay, playing in the water, laying on the beach and walking the nature trails. Gorgeous Villa with spectacular views

The Mango Tango Villa was the perfect vacation home for our family. (2 teenagers) The views from the balconies that wrap around the house are incredible and the sunrise is spectacular. The home is very comfortable, cozy, well maintained and extremely clean. All the activities (diving/snorkeling, zip lining, beaches, fishing, ferry to other islands, shopping, restaurants, etc.) are a short drive away and a walk to Peterborg Point will offer you a stunning sunset. The Villa's owners are very helpful and easy going. We would definitely recommend this gorgeous home to our friends and family.

Rent this house, rent a Jeep and enjoy life!

My wife and I stayed at Mango Tango for 9 days in mid February, 2014. We chose this place because of the value it offered for luxury. We wanted to spend a bit and do something nice vs. staying in a hotel somewhere or taking a cruse; so renting a house for a week seemed the route to go. This home was priced better than similar homes; we looked at dozens on several islands in the Caribbean. We made a good choice. The home is in great shape and clean. Plenty of kitchen stuff/gadgets to do whatever cooking you want and even some sauces, butter and other basics left from previous guests. The house sits perfectly on the Peterborg peninsula overlooking the sea side. A full wrap around deck and sliding glass doors everywhere make for beautiful views. The outdoor shower (one of 2 showers) was cool, totally private. The pool is deep and neatly places up against the house. There is a sunning deck further up the cliff and even a lounging area that sits under a huge lava rock giving you some shade and great views. Peterborg is one of the more “elite” neighborhoods in St. Thomas; it is very safe and clean. Make sure to catch a few sunsets out at the point of Peterborg. Right around the corner from the main road going into Peterborg/Magens beach (highway 35) is highway 42. Right after you get on 42, you can make a quick left in to a resort area (Mahogany Run) and in there is a small food/drink place much like a quaint little coffee shop here in the states. It is called the Cup and Cork and it is the best food and best value. We wish we would have found this place sooner than we did. Other food favorites: Udder Delight @ the St. Thomas Dairies (for the “adult” milkshakes), Spy Glass (St. John’s on the beach), The grille @ Mahogany Run, The Old Stone Farm House (near Mahogany run) ($$$$, but unique international offerings and great atmosphere, dress nice for this one). A great trip made better by renting a villa; if I were going back I would not bother looking at other villas to rent, this offered everything we needed and more to feel like we were living on our own little resort. Both my wife and I give this place 2 thumbs up and highly recommend staying here. Rent this house, rent a Jeep and enjoy life!

Romantic week

My girlfriend and I just returned from a lovely week at Mango Tango in St. Thomas. The villa is beautiful as well as the views, especially of sunrise. As it was only the two of us there was more then enough room in the spacious villa. The villa is nicely furnished, beds are comfortably, kitchen utensils are stocked etc. Visitors would probably need a car as the villa is not in walking distance of beaches or restaurants, but it is quiet and relaxing. I personal have come to enjoy staying in private villas over hotels and Mango Tango is a fine choice. The owners were easy to deal with and responded to inquiries promptly. I would stay at Mango Tango again.

MANGO TANGO IS AN ABSOLUTE PARADISE!!!

My family and I arrived to the gates of Mango Tango with high expectations and as soon as we opened the door the views of the ocean were so overwhelming and picture perfect we knew we had made the perfect choice! The trip was a closure trip after the death of my Dad and what an absolutely perfect and serene setting to do just that! The pool in the front exterior foyer of the house was impeccable and the sunbathing grottos literally built into the natural rock cliff surrounding the pool was like nothing I have ever seen before! We soaked up the sun on the grotto decks as well as the roof of the house which provided us with sun literally all day from different spots. The furniture is extremely comfortable with a touch of barefoot chic elegance but total comfort and unlike some houses I've rented it was totally comfortable to lounge any time of the day! The sofa in the main living area is HUGE and good for several people to chill under the AC and watch the waves roll by! Everything in the house worked perfectly and the brand new outside grill was awesome to cook up dinner for the family a couple nights while we were there. The master bedroom sitting high on the cliff overlooking different areas of the Virgin Islands and the amazing ocean was like waking up in paradise. Having the doors open is a key bc the sound of the waves hitting the rock cliffs puts you right to sleep and the breeze makes it all the better! Another key point is the outdoor shower literally feeling like having a shower in the amazon, total privacy, hot water and the natural wildlife surrounding you is like heaven on earth. The folks that are the caretakers of the house have prepared a guide to the islands that is very good for reviews on what to do and where to go and we put it to the test and weren't't disappointed once! The neighborhood is quiet and serene and the neighbors are gems, we met several and enjoyed getting to know people from different parts of the world that like to gather in St. Thomas to enjoy each other and the surroundings. This was literally the best vacation we have had in many years and there is nothing like having a totally comfortable and beautiful home where everything works and there are no surprises to share time with the family and just kick back... Kinda makes you realize why Kenny Chesney chose the U.S.V.I vs. Nashville! If you are looking around for the perfect spot, Mango Tango is it for me in St. Thomas!

The special vacation we have always hoped to share with each other.

I want you and your husband to know what a beautiful home you have in St. Thomas, and also want you to know how much my wife and I enjoyed our stay. The property is truly 1st class in all respects. We wanted for nothing. The 10 day trip for us was the best time we have spent with each other in years. We made almost no plans and just took each day as it arrived. We both had been more stressed by work and life than we realized so it took us several days to settle in to island life once again. But we didn't need to venture out of Mango Tango to find relaxation. We especially loved the sunning deck to catch those morning rays, and in the evening we spent grilling what ever fish we found at the market. The views are spectacular!! and much of our time was spent simply enjoying the nature around us. I can't recommend this property enough to anyone who wants to get away from it all. This was truly a trip of a lifetime and the home is spectacular.

Gorgeous villa with all the right touches

Dream Vacation of a Lifetime with more OPTIONS that ever...That is MANGO TANGO...

From the moment we arrived in the Villa at Mango Tango it was just like being home...We walked through the gate to get a look down at what was to be pure heaven...The pools was the immediate attention grabber and then the Rock covered Retreat where you can sit and watch the rain fall from a view like no other....There was so much to do from Megan's Bay to St John Island there is nothing that could have been better, very clean, very affordable for what you get and a full Kitchen and full amenities, and you will love the safety and security and the look outs....

Paradise for a week

This house is beyond amazing. Every little detail is perfect from the furniture all the way to the fantastic views from every room. When you first pull up to the door you aren't sure what to expect because you can't see the house from the road. Once you get through the main door you walk down the steps with cliff rocks on your left and the minute you open the door to the house you see the ocean and the beautiful island across the way. We stayed there for a week and every morning I woke up and had my coffee outside on the balcony. The week we spent there was a great time to just unwind and enjoy each others company. Mango Tango does however still have all the comforts of home - from a fully equipped kitchen all the way to wifi that reaches every room. One of my personal favorite features was the outdoor shower. The home is very tastefully decorated and extremely clean. You don't have to worry about anything while you are there. Just sit down, kick your feet back and enjoy the views. I believe they Mango Tango is one of the nicest villas on the island. The owners were extremely accessible and offered advice about the island and really brought the whole experience together. For future visits to St Thomas our first pick will always be Mango Tango. Trust me - you won't regret staying here, it will truly feel like a week in paradise.

Surprises All Around! Stunning!

We have rented villas, houses and condos in our travels, but none of them have had the impact on us that Mango Tango did! Upon our entrance at the top gate with the beautiful tropical flowers and plants,welcoming us as we walked down, it just kept getting better and better! It was just like entering the home from the top of a magnificent tree house. The views and the natural location of this villa were to die for. Around each corner would be another WOW moment, from the endless views, the pool and its grotto, and the stone included in all of the architecture, even in the dining area! Every opportunity to blend the home into the natural beauty of the area was achieved, surpassing no other. We tried many recommendations that the owners shared and thoroughly enjoyed every minute, but could have been just as happy staying right there, being mesmerized by the ocean and the beautiful environment. We had been on St. John the week before, and were pleasantly surprised with all of the opportunities that awaited us on St. Thomas. We had only visited by the airport and cruise ships. We were there during the "slow" season and loved it, but frankly,it could have been just as private, during anytime of the year by it's location. We hated leaving but definitely look forward to our return!

Parents Romantic Getaway!

Wow! Wow! Wow! This house is TRULY home away from home!! The house is beautiful, clean, very well decorated, private, quiet and the décor is professionally decorated. This was a getaway from it all.....AND it was. This was absolutely perfect. My husband and I heard nothing but birds and waves. Being a staying at home mom and hubby working/traveling, this was the perfect place to be....in paradise. The owners were VERY prompt on responding back as well as the care takers of the home....truly wonderful and made us feel at home.Thanks again- and would love to return. My wife and I first came to the Virgin Islands in 2010 so that I could propose to my wife, returned the next year several times to get married in St. Croix and then decided to move to St. Thomas in early 2013.

We found Villa Mango Tango in 2014 after looking for a home for over a year. When going for viewing my wife had made up her mind to buy the house while descending the stairs into the property - before we could even see the house. There is an energy there and a uniqueness that can only be experienced.

After a couple of magical years living there in our own Garden of Eden we had to move back to the states to prepare for our daughter's birth. We now use it as our own vacation destination and are happy to share it with you.

In us, you'll find in us an unusual willingness to help. We were once you, coming to the island and not knowing where to go and what to do and what means what. Small lessons learned make a big difference in your vacation and we'll be happy to help accommodate any need or wish.

Everything about Mango Tango is unique. It's built into a cliffside with huge boulders surrounding the property. The views cannot be captured in pictures... they are simply breathtaking.

Every day the Ocean, clouds, moon and stars portray a different movie that you can't stop watching as all the stress leaves your body.

The outdoor shower is a huge hit.
