Beautiful view with a Modern Flare

Overall our experience was awesome... everything was super clean and the hot tub with that view was spectacular. Homeowners were so lovely and friendly and even offered to take a group photo for us one night. Personalized parking sign was a really cute touch too. I would definitely reccomend this place to anyone...edge of yard is quite steep down to rocks and steep fall to ocean so taking smaller children would have me nervous all the time. But we were a group of ladies so wasn't a worry. Loved the Modern design of all the suites... was 5 star in my books and I am a designer. The glowing quartz wall in the shower was breathtaking. The only negative I can say is that, when we booked it online we were under the impression that the 3 suites were sprend over the whole house and we were renting the whole house. We liked the fact that there was no neighbours close at all so having the homeowners there above us was a bit of a downer for us and not what we thought we were booking. We thought we were gonna have the place to ourselves and felt a bit uneasy as their deck was right above our space. And I know they are new to renting the space as it was just finished being Reno' d but the gardens and grass was all dead, not kept up at all. With the beautiful view it kinds ruined the ambiance with the crispy brown grass and dead flower s etc everywhere. There was lots of nice flowers still and flower pots etc... and the hummerbirds were so fun to watch. The hot tub was clean and lovely to use each night and had cool changing colors. The gas fire pit was also one of our favorite things, we sat around that both nights and chatted away. French beach was less then a 5 min drive so that was a good day. Beach is super rocky though so no comfy to lay on the beach and there was no sand. Was windy that day and waves were super big.

Thanks Marsha It was a pleasure hosting your group and we would welcome you back anytime. I will edit my description and make it clear the suites are on the lower half of a large home and the owners live above the rental space.

About the host

Hosted by Rob and Lynn Gardner

Host profile image
retired couple from Ontario,
Island life is different, unique and relaxing.
We chose the most beautiful and warmest area of Canada.
-dozens of parks. trails, hiking, biking, all very close or within an hour drive,
-oceanfront views from every room make us think we are still on vacation
after living here for over 3 years,
-3 acres of privacy and quiet solitude, but only 20 minutes from shopping,
-wildlife with whales, seals, otters, bears, deer, cougar, bald eagles, hummingbirds,
viewed at times throughout the year (no guarantee of daily sightings)
We wouldn't choose to live any where else.

Why they chose this property

Guests say the property is so nice they wished they had booked longer,
so don’t do a 2 day rental, try 3 days at least.
Great for reunions, retreats or family get togethers.
The true West Coast Experience, majestic forests, incredible ocean accessibility, amazing Pacific Marine Circle driving route, hiking in dozens of parks, Galloping Goose Bike Trail, boat and kayak rentals, boat and whale watching tours, historic old Victoria harbour area, big tree tours, dark sky area.
If all 3 suites are not rented there is an opportunity to rent a single suite.
Great whale watching, fishing and guided hiking tours.

What makes this property unique

Stay right on the ocean, close to Juan de Fuca and French Beach Parks, Jordan River, restaurants and town but far enough away to immerse yourself in the rainforest location
