Hello and Welcome! To Bigwood Lodge.

Come experience a private waterfront retreat on natural, spectacular, south Vancouver Island. Surrounded with a panoramic water view and nature in every direction. This newly renovated home offers a brand new open kitchen, dining and living room. It offers 3 bedrooms 2 1/2 bathrooms. You will be only steps away from the trail-heads and beaches of scenic East Sooke Park, and a short drive to the wild Pacific beaches and West Coast Trail.

Some of the largest Chinook on the West Coast can be caught here along with other salmon species, Halibut and Dungeness crab right in the basin All this and still only a comfortable drive to Canada's finest west coast city, Victoria.

You will see eagles, swans, otters, seals, and large numbers of migrating waterfowl all from the large deck as you enjoy the sunrise with your morning coffee.

The private dock provides you with your own moorage so you have the option to fish, crab, kayak, scuba dive or just sit and reflect on the wildlife going by.

Really enjoyed staying at this peaceful property with beautiful views. Good base for exploring Victoria/Sooke/Port Renfrew. Beds were comfortable, house was spacious. Views over Sooke Basin were beautiful.

Great stay

We had a great stay at Bigwood lodge! The cabin provided the perfect location to explore East Sooke park, great hiking trails nearby and Matheson Lake. We loved the view and enjoyed watching the many deer and rabbits in the yard, and otters and seals in the bay.

Beautiful location. We saw lots of wildlife - deer, sea lions, sea otters and bald eagles. Sunrises and sunsets, as well as the changing skies with a storm, were beautiful. House was cozy and kitchen well stocked.

Our second time staying at Big Wood Lodge. East Sooke is a wonderful area…remote but close to town when needed. The home is very clean and the views are spectacular!

The house was clean and comfortable and we loved the views. We enjoyed watching a seal one morning as we ate breakfast on the deck. The deer in the area were fun to watch, too. We loved our stay here!

Wonderful Views in East Sooke

Bigwood Lodge has spectacular views, is well stocked and very comfortable for a family getaway. Our family spotted many wildlife - both on land (deer) and in the water (otters and jellyfish). Thank you very much for the stay!

Great place for a relaxing getaway

We had a great stay at this property. The water access is amazing especially for a family with kids. It is a very quiet neighborhood. It is worth noting that it is a bit of a drive to the city of Sooke (about 10k) which didn't bother us.

Beautiful Thanksgiving

Perfect place to relax and enjoy beautiful sunrises. We loved watching the otters, seals, starfish, crabs and jelly fish right from the dock! The kitchen had everything we needed to enjoy home cooked meals for a group. The beds were comfortable and the living room was cozy. Amazing and perfect for our family!

We absolutely loved our stay at Bigwood Lodge. So much room for our family and the view is incredible. I especially loved the well done bathrooms and kitchen that made everything so comfortable and easy. We did see the otters, seastars and crabs, deer and hummingbirds and even caught sight of an Orca twice! I would love the chance to stay here in the summer but spring was amazing!

Amazing Property Overlooking the Bay

We all loved our stay at Bigwood, such a beautiful, peaceful area and lots of wildlife ~ otters and seals in the Bay and deer freely wandering. The house was so well equipped and bedrooms were spacious. We had many beautiful days enjoying the deck having quiet times and enjoying morning coffee and evening meals. So handy for the juan de Fuca Marine Trail 👌

Our stay in this property was very comfortable with 6 adults . There was a large very well equipped kitchen , comfortable bedrooms and sitting areas . The highlight was the large deck where we could relax and enjoy the stunning sunrises. Definitely would return!

We arrived to a very clean, well-equipped house overlooking the bay. The views are spectacular. Great kitchen for meal prep, bedrooms clean and spacious and comfortable. Owner responded quickly to a request to check-in an hour early. Highly recommended!
