Cabin Fever - 1 bed, 1 bath * fireplace

“Cabin Fever” was built in 1948 and is loaded with "old Tahoe" charm. Just under 600 sf, the knotty pine walls, hardwood floors and cabinetry are all original. The living room has a rock fireplace with a log mantle, 42" flatscreen smart TV with cable, DVD player, Ipod docking stereo with radio and CD player, wireless internet, sofa sleeper, leather chair with ottoman and a desk for your remote work needs.

The kitchen is equipped with gas range, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, coffee grinder, espresso maker, blender, pots, pans, dishes, utensils. There is a bistro table with four chairs for kitchen dining and outside there is a gas BBQ, patio chairs and picnic table – season permitting.

There is a Queen bed in the bedroom and the living room shuts off to offer a second sleeping area on a sofa bed.

Relax and enjoy this quiet street in Pineland, conveniently located between Tahoe City and Homewood. Sit on the porch and listen to Ward Creek or stroll around the block and walk along its shores. A ½ mile walk will take you to Sunnyside Restaurant or the beach. Just down the street at the end of Ward is Kilner Park offering tennis, volleyball and a playground area. Easy access to the bike path and mountain biking/hiking trails in summer and a short drive to Palisades/Alpine Ski Resort, Homewood Mountain Resort, and Northstar at Tahoe for your winter adventures. We can allow well behaved dogs at this cabin WITH prior approval and $100 pet fee. Let us know the breed and age with your rental request for approval. If you bring a dog without pre-approval, you will be subject to a fine and are in breach of contract which could result in being asked to leave the property.

This home does not allow any parties or events as this home is in a residential neighborhood, and quiet time is from 9pm-8am. Thanks for your cooperation!

Tahoe Cabin

The cabin was cute and cozy. Perfect for a couple. Every amenity was provided. It was tucked away in the woods. The region has been bombarded by snow, which made for a fun, secluded stay. We received a foot of snow one day. The plowing service cleared our driveway in a timely manner so we could drive away.

Perfect little cabin in the woods

This was exactly what we were looking for. The best part was the fireplace. Typical buildings these days have an electric fire. This one has a real fireplace that needs to be lit manually (no gas or electric). We loooved this and kept the fire going most of our stay. Everything was neat and orderly, the binder was convenient and contained all the information we needed throughout our stay. Our goal was to disconnect for a few days and just enjoy each other's company. Mission accomplished. Thank you for opening up your cabin to us!

Getaway mini-vaca

The cabin is simple and adequate. On the plus side, it was clean, comfortable and quiet (especially after I bought a can of WD-40 and persuaded the hinges to stop screeching). The main living area (in the photo) is MUCH smaller than it appears and much darker. Most areas of the cabin could benefit from better lighting (the light over the sink in the kitchen is the BEST). It was warm in Tahoe this weekend and we had no way to create any air flow in the cabin. There is one window in the bedroom (= no flow) and the living room has windows (that open) on one side only (= no flow). The cabin was often stuffy. It could benefit from a ceiling fan, a box fan, or a skylight (that opens - like the cabin behind this one). The shower is small but it's adequate. The bed is comfortable and lot's of pillows. Considering the cost to be in this cabin, we concluded that the value proposition wasn't there. We enjoyed our stay, but would not return to this property without a few improvements.

Quiet neighborhood, nice neighbors, easy access by car or bike to many activities. BTW, there was plenty of toilet paper, you don't have to bring your own. Enjoyed our time in Tahoe City. Nice town for hiking, biking, beaches, gentle river rafting, restaurants, bars. It seems more energetic and better laid out than South Lake Tahoe. We stayed both places and would recommend that for a longer trip.

We were looking in the guest book and saw that our first entry was in 2007. We have always found it perfect. The owners are very responsive to questions and go out of their way to make each stay special. We’ve spent two Christmases there and they put a tree, lights and ornaments in the cabin for us. The kitchen is well appointed. It was always cute, but a recent refresh makes the kitchen even better, with a big farmhouse sink and tile backsplash. There is always lots of wood for the fireplace, comfy bed, outdoor chairs and grill, pet friendly, etc. we feel like we’re home when we’re there. Even though we no longer live in the Bay Area, we hope to come back to the cabin again and again

Everywhere you look, there is wood; mostly knotty pine. Cabin is very comfortable for two people; it would be a stretch for it to accommodate more but a couple with one or two children might like it too. We loved the "real" wood burning fireplace and this rental comes with lots of wood for your use. I will likely come back for another ski week in the near future.

The kitchen was well appointed for all our cooking and the porch off the kitchen was great for coffee in the morning sunshine. The Wi-Fi was seamless and best of all, the fireplace made our evenings cozy and peaceful. Plus, the location is convenient for strolls to Lake Tahoe and the local cafe and deli, and just a few minutes drive to Tahoe City. We plan to rent again.

Perfect location near Tahoe City (and ~15m drive to Squaw/Alpine), and plenty of parking. It's well-furnished, clean, cozy, quiet and beautiful. All appliances work well. The queen-sized pull-out couch bed is extremely comfortable if/when you need to use it. And Wendy was extremely nice and helpful throughout our stay. Would 100% recommend to any couple or group of 2-3.

The cabin itself was not up to expectations. Not as clean as it was made out to be in pictures. Amenities were very outdated. Cobwebs and dog hair everywhere. Utensils were not clean! Had to wash every utensil before use. Bedroom blanket/duvet had stains - possibly not washed. Some condiments provided were expired. Lots of coffee essentials but no actual coffee to brew. Certain perks of staying in Airbnbs were not met in this particular stay.
