Another great stay at this cottage. A very roomy cottage but everything you could need. A shop and a pub/ restaurant within a couple minute walk and a beach about 5 mins away. Beautiful views just add to to stay
A beautiful highland home, everything was perfect and the bds are super comfortable. The host left us fresh milk in the fridge and the best home-made banana bread I’ve ever tasted.
We had this house for members of our family celebrating a special birthdayThey all said it was a great cottage. They were comfortable and happy with everything.Hosts were super too.
The perfect place for a 5 night stay. Lovely hosts who ensure you have everything you could possibly need, a home from home and I can’t wait to come back.
We couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The village is small but has access to everything you need within a short drive. The accommodation itself is lovely, so homey and comfortable. The hosts thought of everything and we couldn’t have asked for more! Thanks so much for having us! Trip of a lifetime.
This has been like coming home. We loved staying at Kintail and Kristel way a great host. If we have a chance to visit the area again would love to book again. The view from the windows are lovely. It has everything we needed while staying there.
Once we decided to have a trip back to UK we wanted to come up to Scotland again. Loved staying at Kintail last year so was happy to stay again this time. Was sad to say goodbye today. Thank you Kristal and David for letting us stay again.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review. It was lovely meeting you.. Look forward to seeing you again.. :-)
Staying at Kintail Cottage was fantastic and just what we needed. The cottage is on a busy road but if you look beyond this it is in a smashing location for exploring towards Kings Cave in one direction and Rockfield...and onwards to Tarbet Ness lighthouse. David, the owner, came to make sure that we okay and if we needed anything. Nothing was required except to say a huge thank you for a home baked banana bread!! Really nice and comfortable stay!
The property was well loved by its owners, everything you could possibly need was there. A real home feeling when you walked through the door, stunning location, well kept gardens, it was quite sad when the time came to leave. A great base with plenty to do nearby, or space to just chill out. Loved it, thanks.
I took my elderly parents for a wee week break and the cottage was excellent wirh everything needed and importantly foe parents comfy, clean beds. The local Balintore Inn served lovely food and everyday we took off in the car and seen so many things that are not too far away. We were welcomed with homemade Banana Loaf and chocolates. No issues at all very pleasant stay
Cottage is lovely, immaculately presented with milk, wine , bacon eggs , chocy bars and home made banana cake ! 😋 Crystal thank you very much my family and I can't thank you enough
We are hoping to come back next summer now we know of the best place to stay in Ross shire
The photographs of this little cottage just don't do it justice. It's beautifully decorated and comfortably furnished with every possible convenience. Perfectly located with the most amazing sea views from every room...stunning! The garden is a little sun trap and just around the corner is a kovely, friendly pub that serves amazing food...we can't wait to return! We wish we could have brought our little dog as she would have loved the nearby beach. A truly memorable week, thank you Christel!

About the host
Hosted by Christel Johnstone
Born in the Central Belt of Scotland I spent many years overseas. In 1992 I left the Falkland Islands and brought my 3 daughters to this Highland village. The plan was to spend a few years here and introduce the girls gently to the BIG world. It didn't take long for us to decide that we would settle right here.. Balintore is a charming place to live. Even when "busy" the beach is not crowded, and the locals are friendly and welcoming. Although some might think we are isolated, we are less than an hour from Inverness Airport.. and the rest of the world. In 2006 I married local lad David and together, over the years, we've watched our 5 children grow, spread their wings, and settle around the world... But we all still call Balintore HOME..
Why they chose this property
David inherited Kintail and has wonderful memories of times spent there. After much thought we decided to renovate it and offer it as a Holiday Cottage for rent. After the success of our first cottage, 8 1/2 John Street, I'm looking forward to meeting many more new guests.
