Town: The little North York Moors village of Ruswarp is just two miles inland from Whitby on the boundary of the National Park. It has a general store, public house and tearoom. There is an impressive viaduct crossing the River Esk, which is one of the region's major landmarks. Over five million bricks were used to build the viaduct, it is 120 feet high and was built to carry the Scarborough to Whitby railway line. The line was closed in 1965 and now the viaduct is a walking and cycle trail. Visitors can enjoy river and sea fishing or spend time boating on the river. As well as the famous North York Steam Railway, train enthusiasts can also enjoy a trip on Ruswarp's miniature steam railway. This village is in a superb location for a memorable holiday.

A real change, a lovely break , & so very handy for all that beautiful scenery, just a walk away. And so wonderful to have the trains passing, quite literally past your doorstep. Magical. Beautiful & clean, everything you may need, & so... cosy.
