This exceptional property is an 18th Century former stable that has been finished to a high standard and sleeps two people. This 18th Century stable conversion is in a secluded corner of Lastingham.
The sitting area is light and inviting and has an electric log-effect fire, making the room snug and welcoming. There is a compact fitted kitchen with a cosy dining area and the spacious double bedroom is well furnished and decorated with an en-suite bathroom, making it a relaxing room at the end of a day's sightseeing activities. The best known building in the village is the Crypt Church of St Mary with its ancient crypt. St Cedd founded a monastery in Lastingham in the 7th Century, but it was destroyed by the Danes in the 9th Century. Pickering is seven miles away and is home to The Beck Isle Museum, which is housed in a handsome Regency property near the centre of the town. Other attractions in the town include The North Yorks Moors Steam Railway. With many castles, historic houses, abbeys, churches and other heritage sites, along with the glorious surrounding countryside, this is a tremendous base for a memorable holiday.
