TREE COTTAGE charming, secluded, 20 mins from town

Tree Cottage is perfect for a relaxing summer sojourn or a cozy stay in the cooler months, with a wood-burning pot belly stove and air conditioning/heating unit.

Just 20 minutes' drive from Dunedin City (university, stadium, Octagon). Nestled in Warrington village, secluded among mature trees, this small cottage is a short walk from the beach, popular with swimmers and surfers, and the bay, great for kayaking at high tide and cockle gathering at low tide.

Near by is the Arc brewery, open at weekends, with food trucks. Blueskin Bay Store, Blueskin Nurseries and Cafe and Gallery on Blueskin (with cafe/restaurant) are available 5 minutes drive away at Waitati, and close by Orokonui Ecosanctuary can be accessed via Waitati. Various routes offer access to other beaches, artist studios, shops and museum in Port Chalmers and Mt Cargill Walks. From Dunedin there is access Otago Peninsula attractions. North from Warrington, Coast Road offers a scenic drive to horse riding, kayak hire and another beautiful, beach.
Tree Cottage is an older style, much loved family bach, not fancy or modern but comfortable and relaxing and has everything you should need for your stay.

Linen is provided and beds made ready for guests. Please leave beds and towels for our housekeeper to manage. Otherwise we ask you to do your dishes and leave the property clean and tidy, as found.

A delightful cottage in a great location. Very clear instructions on how to get there and where to find the key, etc. Beautifully presented and whilst you cannot see the sea you can hear it and it is only a short walk away.Thoroughly recommend - would visit again.

Perfect little getaway

This property is super quiet and private, with its own little herb garden - just perfect for whipping up some cheese and herb scones in the bench-top oven. Only a few minutes from the beach, and also really accessibly to a cute walking path by the school that goes through bush up to the Anglican churchyard and cemetery. The dining table, sitting room, verandah and garden provide lots of options to enjoy a cuppa in a patch of sunshine, with enough lawn for the kids to enjoy some volleyball and badminton (brought with us).A great selection of books (5 stars for the library alone!) and DVDs. Lindsey was super communicative and Tree Cottage has everything you need for a true kiwi crib/bach beach holiday. We're already planning our next stay!

Lindsey’s description I received upon booking was accurate. Lovely bach/crib. Worth noting for families there is no oven, but a camping hot plate with two elements and a mini grill type bench top oven. Handy to have the washing machine. Listen to Lindsey’s advice about the hot water, we did run out twice (two adults one child despite using it modestly). Lovely stay for a weekend within easy walking distance of nice swimming beach.

Relaxing stay

We stayed 6 days as we visited family and toured the area. Lindsey’s place was a wonder base, relaxing and beautiful; gardens and quiet home. Simple but all that was needed for a quiet and relaxing visit. Host was wonderful, very communicative and responsive. Morning coffee and evening wine on the porch with flowers, bees and nice view of the hillside. A very relaxing and refreshing venue!

Tree Cottage "Tranquility in a Bottle"

This is a great place to stay if you want a quiet, tranquil, relaxing holiday away from it all. The property is very clean and the check in process was easy. The cottage is just as it is described online. It is an old style kiwi bach with lots of charm and a lovely homely feel to it. The host communicated very well with us and replied to any questions promptly. He provided good clear directions on how to find the property. The cottage is less than 10 minutes walk from the beach and has a beautiful view inland from the front entrance. There are lots of things to do and places to explore within 30 minutes of the location. Tree Cottage is a great place to stay for either couples or a small group. A bottle of milk would have been helpful or at least let people know they need some when they arrive. The shower was not the best and a bit dangerous getting in and out . Toaster burnt one side and vacuum cleaner didn’t suck very well.

Quiet 2 night stay

This was a cozy place to stay. About 20 minutes outside Dunedin in a quiet neighborhood. We had access to a wonderful beach and within easy driving distance to several places along the coast to view sea lions, albatross, and an ecosystem reserve. We stayed in late Feb - this might be a much busier place in high summer due to easy beach access.
