Great location with stunning views. The cable car ride was the icing on the top.We parked the car and walked or caught the bus to town from down the street.Great host, we would definitely stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay in Seatoun. The views were beautiful and the kids loved taking the tram up and down the hill. The owner was very responsive and had great communication.
My partner and I stayed for 2 nights, and had a great experience. Great communication, clear instructions, beautiful house and stunning views. The trolley car was easy to use, and a nice way to get up to the house. We found everything we needed to cook simple meals, and slept great.
The house not only had a stunning view in every direction, but was architecturally brilliant. The funicular was more than novel and added an incredibly neat touch to a wonderful stay. The location was perfect both in the views and in the neighborhood . As an added touch, It’s close to the airport. host provided the appropriate amount of communication. It was a five star stay.
Seaward Retreat was just perfect for my son, grandson and myself while visiting family nearby.
Had everything we needed and a bonus for a four year old the exciting cable car and spa pool!
Andrew was a great host who we mostly did not see unless we pressed the wrong button and went to the top to his level. Only a second to get back to ours.
Thanks so much Andrew...will def stay again !
My husband, daughter & I stayed here. It was so comfortable and clean. Stunning views. Loved the private spa - perfect for two, able to fit three. We saw Andrew once when we needed help with the TV, otherwise we connected via text. He was just lovely - easy to communicate with, answering queries quickly, and very helpful. We hired a car from the Airport - he left the outside light on for us as we arrived on a late flight. A fun (steep!) ride up the cable car. We were busy most days but spent some afternoons at Seaward just relaxing. I can't recommend Seaward enough if you want somewhere to fully relax and unwind. Thanks Andrew & Jani for a fabulous place to stay - we felt very blessed.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Disliked: Listing accuracy
Promised much but below expectation
The property was very clean and homely however the configuration, access and features within the house were well short of expectations from the listing. We did not feel this delivered value for money - being the third three-night stay in the region on this trip, it was the highest price by a wide margin and least enjoyable. Felt uncomfortable - certainly not a contemporary 2025 experience - it is as though little has changed since the comprehensive manual of dos and don'ts was written in 2018. It may be a better experience in warmer months. Good views of the harbour do not compensate for the layout shortcomings.

Hi Guy. Thank you for the review. We appreciate the comments which you made and are so sorry you didn’t seem to enjoy your stay. I have written to you to try and gather details on why you felt as you did, so if we can make changes, we will. In the 17 years we have been operating we have never had fewer than 5 stars in reviews, so we are hoping to learn from the experience. We certainly offer a different experience from other short term accommodation in the Region and our aim is to ensure everyone enjoys their stay and comes back again. Best wishes Andrew
From the photos to reality the property exceeded our expectations . Catching a ride up and down in the cable car was such a bonus and added to the sense of adventure. The hot pool is what sold us in the first place and was such a luxurious point of our stay. And the view is absolutely sublime. No disappointments for us with the amenities. We were 2 couples so 1 felt they had to keep putting the bed away so we could have easier access to the kitchen. Oh and carting equipment up and down to the lounge was extra effort but it was minor compared to the bonuses of everything else e.g. luxury linen, salon shampoo & conditioner etc. Beautiful place. Thank you Andrew.
Beautiful property in a beautiful location. Andrew was great to deal with and kept in good communication leading up to our stay. The view was lovely, ammenities perfect and the spa was an extra nice touch. Definitely would stay again. Thanks Andrew
Our visit to our favourite city was complimented by staying in this beautiful two level modern home in Seatoun. Epic views of the harbour and coastline. Owner Andrew was professional, friendly and so well organised. Private and quiet. The home was immaculate. Spa pool was oh so relaxing. Linen fresh and clean and crisp. It gets a resounding ‘brilliant’ from us.
This property has the best view from the upstairs sitting room and outdoor decks, and a wonderful hot tub for soaking in the sunset. Andrew and Jani were great hosts. It was a bit of a surprise that the tiny kitchen is in a closet and the second bed pulls down from the wall but we adjusted to these minor inconveniences, which were completely offset by the view. Seatoun is one of our favorite suburbs. And we loved the funicular.
A fantastic property with an incredible view of the sea. The property was spotlessly clean and every little detail was thought of. Very comfortable beds and beautiful sheets!!
A really lovely place to stay. I would highly recommend this place to other visitors to Wellington.
The host, Andrew, was also very pleasant to deal with and answered any queries very promptly.
