Karaka Bay Cottage – Waterfront 3 Bedroom Bach or Holiday Home

Welcome to our cottage by the sea – cherished by four generations of our family.
Originally built in the 1870s, extended in the 1890s and updated with a California Bungalow restyle in the 1920s, the house has been recently redecorated and now has modern amenities including heatpump ducted central heating.

Relax on the porch and enjoy the harbour views through the pohutakawa trees, or in the privacy of the garden terrace. Walk over the road to the beach and rockpools.
Wellington Airport is 5 minutes drive away as are a supermarket as well as cafes and restaurants.

Fully equipped bach style kitchen. Broadband WiFi and internet/Freeview television.
Bathroom with cast iron bathtub for relaxing in and separate shower.

A 3 night minimum stay applies.

No smoking allowed in the house or on the property. No pets allowed (sorry!)

Such a magical weekend! I've always loved the sight of this home, took the leap to book for a random weekend and so glad we did. Absolute gem. Such welcoming hosts, totally inobstrusive but you can tell all the love and care they have put into the home. Highly recommend!

An exception spot and a beautiful and quant residence. Old and charming yet with modern features like a heat pump. Peaceful and surrounded by bush with the beach just over the road. A beautiful deck to sit on and watch the day go by and maybe a gin or 7. Definitely would stay again. Could live there forever. Great host too.

Gorgeous location, beautiful older home with original art work throughout, lovely gardens, parking for one small vehicle on property and other parking just down the road. The window behind the kitchen sink looks out onto vibrant fuscia flowers - I just loved it. We had everything we needed and the host left us a bowl of fresh fruit.

Beautiful old home in gorgeous location

We loved staying here - the pictures didn't do it justice. It's a beautiful home with a fascinating history - thank you to the owners for leaving the information. The location is a dream, we spent a whole day just sitting on the front porch watching the sailboats.
