Poppawhiwhi Olives Apartment : A Couples Retreat

Self catering Guesthouse. On a working Olive Grove, this apartment exudes luxury, peace and tranquility. Overlooking acres of olive trees and a beautiful pond, enjoy a few minutes walk down to beautiful Tokerau Beach. Or check out the other 6 beaches on the peninsula all within a 15 minute drive.
Pampering comes free!
Enjoy a 5 star meal or a game of golf at nearby Carrington Resort, sip wine at the stunning Karikari Winery or we can arrange fishing or diving or sightseeing tours.
Within an easy 1 - 2 hour drive to Cape Reinga, or allow us to book our favourite bus tour. Pick up in Awanui for your convenience.
Plenty of parking for your own boat.
Fishing and Diving charters can be arranged. Fish cleaning facilities available and we are happy to freeze fish for you to take home with you when you leave.
We also have gate sales of EV olive oil.
If the apartment is booked for the time your are looking - check out our delightful cottage. Pohutakawa Cottage sleeps 4, queen bed and 2 single beds - is self contained and very comfortable with all amenities.
Please note that we do not offer WIFI. Instead treat yourself to a retreat away from your devices to enjoy the beauty that the far north has to offer. So sit back relax and rewind.

25% deposit required on acceptance of booking.
Early check-in /late check out permitted if other bookings allow.
For security purposes, no additional guests will be permitted to stay without prior arrangement with management.

Fantastic stay

We had a fantastic time at Sue and Ray's apartment! The place was modern and spotlessly clean with a very comfy bed. The property itself was beautiful too and it was wonderful to look out at the olive groves from the deck.

Cosy Retreat

We booked this place for a couple of nights to be close by to friends at the local beach. It was perfect for what we required. Very clean and spacious and would be an excellent place to stay for those wanting to explore the far north or have a quiet weekend away. Hosts were lovely.

Kari Kari Peninsula Paradise

Any couple looking for a retreat on Kari Kari Peninsula and an opportunity to relax and enjoy some time together this is the place for you. The owners, Ray and Sue, were outstanding, pleasant, and helpful. The apartment is clean and well cared for. It is adjacent to their well-manicured and beautiful olive orchard. A 10-minute walk to Tokerau Beach, and a short drive to Maitai Bay or Lake Rotopokaka (kayaking). And don't leave without purchasing some of their olive oil, which they sell right on the property. It is outstanding. I can assure you that if we ever return to Kari Kari Peninsula, the first place we will look is The Couple's Retreat at Pappawhiwhi. Don't miss out on this opportunity. JEL

Beautiful property

The property was immaculately clean. We had a very comfortable stay. Even though the property is attached to the house you do not see the owners. Separate entry and parking. A wonderful view overlooking olive trees and a pond with ducks Definitely would stay again

Great place to stay, lovely and clean, comfortable and spacious. Very relaxing with a beautiful outlook of the pond and olive grove. Excellent hosts who were very welcoming and then left us to enjoy our stay. Highly recommend purchasing a bottle of their 'very good' olive oil too.

Peace on the Peninsula

It was a real treat staying here! The apartment is spacious, clean and comes with everything you could need. The indoor-outdoor flow is great with plenty of privacy (there's a lovely private deck overlooking the Olive Grove - great spot for reading or dining alfresco). A short walk to the beach or short drive to Matai Bay. Couldn't fault it! We loved our stay.

What a beautiful apartment!

What a beautiful apartment! Such a treat to stay in a modern and well appointed property, there was everything we could have wished for and more. Our hostess was wonderful, nothing was too much trouble, from arranging a golf game with a crowd of local players to taking us for a tour of the olive grove and beach. As for breakfast, a plentiful and varied of tempting food and we certainly didn't need to eat any lunch!! Absolutley fautless, thank you. Pam & Alan Turner Guildford UK

We had a wonderful (albeit brief) stay at Poppawhiwhi Olives apartment. The property is just beautiful and has such a stunning outlook. It's very modern, immaculately presented and had ample room for us and our 4 children. The owners are lovely, very accommodating and friendly. I have had no hesitation in recommending the property to our family and friends and hope to return one day soon (maybe without the children!). Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Relaxing and peaceful

We had a lovely time relaxing and checking out the Karikari Peninsular. The accommodation was great, everything tidy and clean with everything we needed to make ourselves home and cook a few meals. Sue was there and very friendly while leaving us to do as we wished. Our daughter enjoyed helping to feed the ducks and chickens. If we're up this way again we'll definitely stay here.

The place was wonderfully presented and bigger than it looks in the photos. Well kitted out even though my wife managed to destroy a couple of wine glasses. The deck with table and day bed faced the morning sun and was perfect to while away the summer evenings watching hawks traversing the sky. Also rather good for a blind if so inclined..

i 100% recommend this place.

i 100% recommend this place. So clean and well presented. I had a 2,8 and 14 year old and they all loved it. was also close to beaches where my partner was able to go fishing. Board games were awesome for the kids and the duck feeding was a bonus. thank you once again

Location was quiet. Car required to explore the area. Property was lovely - very clean and spacious. Very comfortable bed. I would highly recommend it.
