Villa Pacifica Apartment 2-Free car/transfers

Our Apartment:
Our Apartment 2 is a one bedroom apartment with an ensuite bathroom, a lounge and kitchenette. The kitchenette has a two-element stove top, a microwave, and a jug. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk is provided.

Your own private car is available for you to use for the duration of your stay. This is a huge convenience and cost saving over public transport, taxis or hire cars. Please read the terms of the car's use below. In particular, you will be required to refuel the car and stay off gravel roads.


Our Property:
Villa Pacifica is an 18 acre property with incredible views in a semi-rural, tranquil setting close to nature and away from the crowds.

With the convenience of a free car to use for the duration of your stay, you're also never far from experiencing what Waiheke has to offer. You'll have the best of both worlds!

Cafes, vineyards & restaurants are only minutes drive away, or walk to The Batch winery. The island's supermarket is less than 10 minutes drive.

We offer free transfers to/from the wharf (up to and including the 5pm sailing) which takes the hassle and cost out of getting to your accommodation. Be sure to read the terms of our transfers below.

If you enjoy nature walks, Whakanewha Regional Park has many great walking tracks to explore, and is just across the road from the villa. Due to our close proximity to the regional park, you'll find wekas, tuis, pheasants, and the occasional blue herron on the property during the day, kakas (native parrot) at dusk, and moreporks (native owl) at night.


Guest access:
If you have arranged for us to pick you up, we will bring you back to the villa and show you to your apartment and your car.

If you are bringing your own car or catching a taxi, we will greet you when you arrive at the villa.

We live in the main house on the property, so if you need anything, we're never far away. Feel free to text or call us, or pop over to the house and see us. You can message us on Vrbo/Bookabach, but we sometimes don't receive them in a timely manner, so it's better to call or text in time-critical situations.


Free transfer terms:
We are only available for transfers up to and including the 5pm ferry. If you board a later ferry, you will need to catch a taxi to the villa. You will find them at the wharf.

Please request transfers at least the day before you need the transfer so that we have time to reorganise our other commitments. Otherwise, you will most likely need to take a taxi. This includes transfers back to the ferry when you check out.

If you request a pickup from us, it's important that you message us when you board the ferry. We'll then head on our way to pick you up. If you don't, we'll assume you missed the ferry like so many have done without telling us. We really appreciate it when guests keep us informed of changes to their travel plans.


Free car terms:
The driver must have a full licence.

You must replace the fuel you used before you return the car to us.

You must not drive on gravel roads. The only gravel road remaining on the island is Man O’ War Bay road. Unfortunately, Stoney Batter, the Man O’ War Bay vineyard and Waiheke Distillery Co is on this road, so if you wish to visit those, you’ll have to make alternative arrangements. Check out the Eastern Explorer bus. It goes out there.

The car is available for the duration of your stay only. That is, from 1pm on your checkin day until 11am on your checkout day. We would love to be able to lend you the car outside these hours, but if someone else books the apartment for that time, we have to give it to them. Therefore, contact us the day before you checkin/checkout and we'll be able to tell you if you can have the car earlier/later.

The car must be returned to the villa each night.

If you choose to use our car, you do so at your own risk. We keep our cars road legal, but they're not insured. We've not had an incident or accident by any of our guests since we started providing accommodation more than 20 years ago, but if it were to happen, we will cover any damage to our vehicle only. NO RESPONSIBILITY for your safety, injury, or third party damage will be taken by us.

Peaceful weekend getaway

Very helpful hosts with pickup/dropoff at wharf, and a basic car provided for use during our stay. Unit is a 10 minute drive from from Onetangi Beach so you can't walk from there, but it has beautiful views in a peaceful setting.

We appreciated the friendly, kind pick up and drop off at the Ferry and the use of the car for the duration of our stay. Second time I have stayed here. Perfect wee bach with amazing views. Clean and tidy with everything you could need. Hosts arranged pick up from the ferry and drop off at the end of our stay. Having the use of the car they provided makes getting around the island easy and allows you to do things in your own time. Hosts are friendly and made us feel very welcome. Thanks for having us!

A wonderful weekend in the perfect getaway

We were picked up at the ferry whisked to the Villa Pacifica but on the way got to know the people behind the place.There's real love and heart in this place ... we loved every minute of it.Jamie is the kind of guy books should be written about - a real rock.The use of a free car was just perfect as we were able to experience the best of both worlds - beautiful beaches .. great vineyards but not having to wait for buses and could pop anywhere we pleased.Can't reccomend it enough.

We stayed during a friends wedding weekend and couldn't have asked for a better location, space and hosts - our entire stay from the moment we stepped off the ferry to the ride back down 3 days later was perfect. You guys have such an amazing property with stunning views and the car was great for getting around the island. Thank you Gaye for the restaurant and menu recs to the places we did manage to go to around the wedding planning trips out. A slice of Heaven

Just what we were looking for peace and quiet and being hosted by a very attentive host, Cliff. Squeaky clean and comfortable accommodations. Beautiful views with great night time star gazing. You do need a car to get around the Island and with Cliff as your driver ed instructor, you should have no problem. I would recommend this cozy stay to any potential guest. A side note. After getting on the ferry and sailing away, I remembered leaving my camera in the back of his car. Cliff was kind enough to drive all the way back and fetch it and put it on the next ferry for my pick up in Auckland. Now that is a Super Host!

Villa Pacifica has lovely apartments, all nice furniture etc, with beautiful views. A potential downside is the remoteness of the location, but Cliff more than makes up for that by picking you up at the ferry terminal and giving you an island to so you set off already oriented as to where you are and then providing you with a car for the duration of your stay and a lift back to the ferry at the end. Although it is a bit of a remote location Batch Vineyard is only a 10 minute or so walk, where you can have lunch or dinner as well as wine tasting and you can pick up the hop on hop off bus that tours the island if you are planning too many wine tastings for driver safety! And it's a pretty central location, so although there's nothing a few minutes walk away, with the car you can get to Countdown supermarket in about 5 minutes and almost nowhere is more than 20 minutes away. And if you are a walker, there's loads of beautiful walks all around you in the nearby national park and forests We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Pacifica and would highly recommend it

Loved our stay.

Being picked up from and dropped off at the ferry was perfect. All very flexible with us getting off a cruise and then the ferry across to the island. Hosts stayed in communication with us. Unit was very clean and perfect for 3 of us for 4 days. The hosts had family staying with them and there were other people staying in the unit beside us but we all came and went with privacy. Hosts were always a text message away if we needed to ask anything. Could hear the people next door talking and closing doors when we were all at home but otherwise location is beautiful and quiet. The weather sadly was not kind to us and it was raining most of the time. The use of the car at no extra cost other than replacing fuel was an absolute godsend as we could spend our days exploring all of the island that had sealed roads. The only thing I would mention is that I’m sure the bedroom would get very hot on summer days when it was sunny. There is no fan. Lounge room has a ceiling fan. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if we ever visit Waiheke Island again. Thanks to the hosts for sharing their lovely location with us.

Disappointing, misleading, misrepresented

When we booked and paid for 5 nights. The impression from the website was we would be staying in the main house in an apartment overlooking the water view. Instead we had what is classed as a ‘donger’ in Australia .. a transportable structure divided into two seperate accommodations. Because we were located lower on the property, the view was much less. Inside the donger, the bed was double size. The linen was so worn, we could see through it. The towels (2only) had a very organic smell and very old. Very basic and old, worn out. The tiny bathroom had no shelf, only one towel rail. The only mirror in the donger was on the wall behind the toilet so you needed to stand astride the toilet to use the mirror. The outdoor table was moss covered. It was a bonus to get a car to use even tho it was around 20 years old and not clean. We contacted Stayz because we felt the property was mis represented and have asked for a refund. At this stage we have not from the host, it’s been a week!! We are very disappointed, don’t be tricked

Disappointing

Bed was uncomfortable, beside units not practical to place cup of tea/coffee on, resulting in spillage that seeped through to the clothes in the draw below. Couch was too small and uncomfortable for 2 to relax on. Dining table and chairs were metal outdoor table and chairs, which were not only uncomfortable to sit on, but got to hot to sit on, when sun was beating through the window. Bathroom too small and awkward to be able to get ready in. No vanity to put toothpaste and toothbrushes on at minimum. Sink was basically a tiny hand wash basin. No hooks to hang damp towels on to dry after a shower. Only two hooks with 2 coat hangers each to hang clothes on. Which one wonders, if they were meant for the towels. Afternoon sun, made accommodation like a sauna, requiring curtains to be closed to keep heat down. No air con to help cool down and fans provided just moved already hot air around the room. Unit neighbours another unit, with no comfortable outdoor seating for both parties to make use of at the same time. Shower limited to 3 mins, which we totally support being on tank water, however, shower head did not stay upright, causing time and water to be wasted trying to get it to stay upright, especially when hair needed washing/rinsing. Ended up having to take the shower head out of its frame to wet self and then again to rinse self. Kitchen was best part of the accommodation, which was fully equipped.

Myself and wife Gaye have owned and operated our Villa Pacifica accommodation for 17 years. Cliff has lived on the island for most of his life and Gaye was born on Waiheke. So I guess that makes her a 'Waihetian' ha ha.
You're in good hands with local people who know the island very well.
We are situated in an absolutely pristine and peaceful neighborhood. The only sound you will hear is the wind and bird life making it an ideal environment for rest and relaxation. Yet by making use of our free car guests can easily access in a few minutes the local shopping, vineyards, cafes, restaurants, activities, beaches and the walking tracks start right at our back door
Getting around:
Free use of a car available with every booking with a full drivers license. Taxis can easily be contacted and available or bus route not too far away.
Relax on a paved balcony on top of a hill overlooking the ocean. Use of a BBQ if required. Wireless internet also available and is free to use

We both like to travel. Our favorite holiday destination would be the Amalfi Coast area of Italy.
