Just renovated with brand new kitchen etc. new bedroom images up soon! This classic Arrowtown cottage has enjoyed many years of hosting happy, satisfied guests - please read our reviews. Arrowtown Gem is super sunny, simply yet stylishly furnished and is located an easy 10 minute stroll into the main town area of Arrowtown.
Voted New Zealand’s most beautiful small town 2020 (Keep NZ Beautiful) Arrowtown offers a huge array of cafes, bakeries, restaurants, bars, family friendly pubs, fashion stores, galleries, collectables with even a boutique cinema to enjoy. With an abundance of beautiful wineries located within 10 to 20 minutes drive there’s plenty of choice for wine lovers too.
For the more active minded it is located a few minutes ride to the start of the Queenstown Bike Trail and a variety of walks that start from the Arrow River, for both the leisurely stroller and serious hiker.
If you are a skier Coronet Peak skifield is 20 minutes drive away and Cardrona or the Snow Park are approximately 30 minutes drive and for golfers there are 2 beautiful courses located within 5 minutes drive. Lake Hayes is located 10 minutes drive away - perfect for swimming, sailing, paddle boarding and fishing.
The cottage has small but well layed out open plan living with French doors onto a large deck and a cosy booth style dining room. It is fully insulated and has both gas/electric heating and a wood burner (wood provided). Please note that I have ticked the 'heatpump - aircon' section for reason we have a great push button convection heating source but this system does not also cool.
The cottage is fully fenced, enjoys all day sun and is quiet and private, off the main road, with lovely views out over the Arrowtown hills from the large deck and outdoor dining/BBQ area. Rustic outdoor sheds provide the perfect place to store your skis and bikes.
The first bedroom is large with a raised timber ceiling, french doors opening onto the deck, is set up with 2 single beds and has a wardrobe. The beds can easily be pushed together and for stays of 7 days or longer we can do a full conversion to a superking bed on request. The second bedroom is smaller and has 1 queen bed and a small storage cupboard.
The house is extremely cosy, accented with a hint of retro design and will offer two couples, three singles or a family of four, a wonderful break in the sought after location of Arrowtown.
Dogs with considerate owners are most welcome with prior approval.

The lovely cottage is private, peaceful, with every amenity anyone would want. It is five minutes walk to a small supermarket, the bus stop for the Queenstown bus and the riverside walk to Arrowtown centre. We loved our two night stay, enjoyed relaxing on the sunny deck and highly recommend Arrowtown Gem.
Fantastic place to stay - everything you need inside clean tidy and modern. Great to access local tracks and easy walk just up the road to cafes - pubs - shops. Highly recommend. Host was easy to organise everything and very friendly. Will be back

Super comfy and cute cottage in the gorgeous Arrowtown
The host seemed great, the house was good and comfy. Unfortunately could not get the tv to work properly. Also, although outside the control of the owner, but the non stop construction next door with constant noise was hard to get past.

Thanks Vanessa. I wish you had told me the TV was giving you trouble. It’s hard to fix things you find out about after you have left. I’m always available if needed. Yes there is a house being built next door. Arrowtown is an extremely popular little town which always means development is inevitable which you will soon discover having moved here. This is the first time anyone has complained though so I’m sorry you were impacted by it. Best of luck and I hope Arrowtown proves to be a good move. A

Hi Annie, I had to email the property instructions to you because you couldn’t work out how to find them in the booking system. Shame you didn’t message me if you couldn’t use the TV and we could have sorted this for you too, thanks Rachelle
Originally from Dunedin I have lived in Arrowtown/Queenstown for 35 years interspersed with years of travelling and living over seas. Travelling is still my greatest passion and a comfortable place to relax, (sleep!) while soaking up the local atmosphere has always been high on my list of priorities. I love nothing more than being able to offer this to fellow travelers while they are enjoying our beautiful Whakatipu Basin.
Why they chose this property
I truly believe Arrowtown is simply one of the loveliest places on earth. It is quaint, has beautiful scenery an incredible array of outdoor activities and has retained its old world charm while simultaneously offering an amazing range of world class dining and shopping. A hard combination to beat!
What makes this property unique
Everyone loves to stay at the cottage. It's quiet, comfortable, very warm and sunny, well appointed, has great views over the hills and is an easy stroll into the main town area.
