About this property

Stunning Little Harbourfront Bach - Great Views!!

This modern family bach is ideally positioned to take advantage of everything the historic Whangarei Heads area has to offer - swimming in the Harbour or Pacific Ocean; fishing from boat or shore; any number of wonderful walks and longer tramps right from the gate, and handy for local cafes and shops.

Set on over an acre of land, the family-friendly Bach offers plenty of parking for cars and boats; a huge deck to enjoy the sun and views; and space and privacy to really relax away from the stress of the modern lifestyle. Great outdoor shower for after a swim!

The main bedroom offers a double bed, the second has two bunks. Hot water is gas heated ; the kitchen includes a dishwasher, stove etc, or you can cook and entertain out on the deck with the gas barbeque. Freeview TV and a DVD collection are also available. Wifi.

The Pukeko Pad is ideal for a weekend away for a couple, or bring the kids for a great relaxing holiday at the beach for the family.

Please note - the Bach is small and only suitable for a couple or a couple with small children.
The Bach gets a bit cold in winter please make sure you bring enough bedding.

NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the bach and do the dishes before you leave, please leave it as you would expect to find it; Bring your own linen (Towels/Bedding etc) There is a washing machine, cleaning products, bin bags, vacuum etc for you to use. This helps us keep the costs down for you with no cleaning fees.

Nice to talk to Jeremy on the phone. Bach was small, the 2 showers were wonderful (one outside with hot water and one in). Views were wonderful, close to Ocean Beach which has got to be one of the best beaches you will fine. We had a wonderful time

Lovely wee bach, views for days!

We spent a relaxing few days soaking up the views, snorkeling in the nearby marine reserve and enjoying all the local walks. The bach is as listed, comfy and well positioned with everything you need for a great family break!

Working Holiday

Sent two workers up to Whangarei for a few days this accomodation was available just outside, was sent video of them fishing at the beach after work having a great time and sunset pictures over the harbour from the deck. They thought the property was great!!

Thank you for letting us rent out your property great location . However we feel like we should point out that the couches could do with a deep clean they were kind of unpleasent to sit on Everything else was good. Will come back for sure.

A very basic facility in an idyllic location. Facilities including bedding were sparse and extra bedding is essential for cold months.

A true kiwi style bach. The range of DVDs, board game’s & trampoline well used while travelling with a 10 year old :) A great view while relaxing on the deck … even when the weather didn’t play too nice.

A lovely spot with fantastic views, although maybe not suitable for winter. We enjoyed our stay although due to the dampness of the bach we left one day early, this was also because we found the beds quite uncomfortable. However everything else was great, thanks

Thanks for the feedback. It is indeed a bach and is set up as a simple place to escape to for a couple of nights. The bach itself isn’t damp but it’s more the site that it sits on means it is in the shade until the sun hits it at about 11am in winter. Come back in summer if that’s your season, I'm sure you’ll be satisfied. Cheers Jeremy.

Beautiful view, and phone box on site!

My kids particulary loved the phone box as one of them is a Dr Who enthusiast. Bach had everything we needed, though the trampoline has been removed since the photos for the listing were taken. View was lovely. We got a bit stressed out at the check-in because the padlock didn't seem to work for the gate so it would be good to note that the numbers need to align at the top, not in the middle (unlike the lock for the key where they align in the middle). Communication from Jeremy was very friendly and helpful.

Overpriced and underwhelming.

We stayed for three nights and this property was not cheap, we got: - one roll of toilet paper - no hot water until we worked out how to change the gas bottle - a very uncomfortable mattress - no linen (not even a bath mat) - a property that supposedly didn't have wifi (it did, they just don't give guests the code) - the expectation for us to clean the property and remove our own rubbish. And on our final day a tractor turned up at 8.30 in the morning to mow the grass without warning. The view was amazing though.

The wifi is available, please just ask for the passcode. Sorry about the tractor, he mows it on random days according to the length and doesn’t normally let me know.
