Our property is located in the heart of Mansons Landing, Cortes Island.

We are walking distance to local amenities like stores, bakery, skatepark, community hall and Hague Lake!

This two storey, 1200 square foot space features an open concept.

Also, has a covered porch off of the kitchen.

This home brings together sustainable design & modern comfort.

☆Hardwood fir floors are sealed with 0% VOC natural hardwax oils.

☆Two Bedrooms

•Large sunlit room on the second storey with king size & twin beds

•Main floor bedroom has a queen size


Both bedrooms have full room darkening curtains for a cozy sleep.

Sassparilla House can accommodate up to five guests


☆The Washroom has a washer & dryer, tub, shower & bidet.

☆There is a waterless toilet in a separate room.

☆Kitchen features beautiful cooking space and new fridge & stove.

This home is located at the far eastern tip of our property and is on a steep slope. The walk down is quite short (approximately 100 feet) but is difficult in terms of accessibility.

We are currently on an off-grid sanitation system with a simple indoor latrine.

My son and I had a fabulous stay at Sassparilla's on Cortes Island. The cottage is new, and absolutely beautiful, with light wood walls, cabinetry and walls that make it feel bright and welcoming. The hosts are truly charming and helpful!The natural beauty of this quiet, yet very convenient location is perfect for relaxing... and for being active. We enjoyed having coffee or a glass of wine on the sunny deck, as well as being able to walk a few minutes to the pristine lake with our paddleboards, or take a short hike down to the ocean beach nearby. Grocery stores, a burger stand, a cafe and community hall are within a few minutes walk too, so there's no need to drive, unless you're exploring the rest of this gorgeous island! Every day, whether we spent it relaxing or going out on adventures, ended with a great sleep in comfortable beds, enjoying the quiet and peaceful nights here on Cortes:)

We enjoyed our first week at Sassparilla's Cottage so much that we extended our stay for two more weeks! We loved the beautiful warm, knotty pine walls, the new appliances, tasteful furniture and decor, and the sunny covered deck where we started our day with a coffee sitting beside the plum tree. We were thrilled to see exotic yellow, and black birds with red heads in the tree having fresh fruit for breakfast, and looked them up to see what kind of birds they were. We found out they're Western Tanagers, birds that winter in Latin and South America .... no wonder they look so tropical!From our cottage in this lush greenery, it was an easy three minute walk to the Café and grocery stores, and to the white sand beach where we swam in pristine Hague Lake. We could even walk on trails through the forest down to the ocean and Mansons Lagoon! In the evening it was a short drive to enjoy garden-to-table dining at Hollyhock, and the sunset at Smelt Bay. An important feature for us too, was knowing that at the end of the day we would get a good sleep in comfortable beds and quiet, dark rooms. We felt like we were in a home away from home right from the start, especially because of the gracious, friendly host and her husband. They went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed to be totally comfortable and happy:)

Trudy was a perfect guest in every way! I am so grateful that she was the first one to stay at Sassparilla House. She was very helpful and kind, offering tips on small necessities and ways to improve our new vacation rental. Like coat hooks and shade umbrella and so much more. She left our place super clean and in pristine shape. Even did the laundry, wow! Ten out of ten, best guest.
