Family Bach Cabins – 120 Steps to Pātaua Surf Beach

A classic Northland bach set-up: three cabins linked by one huge covered deck, 120 steps from Pātaua's surf beach. It's the kind of place where the deck does most of the work, whether that's morning coffee, a card game, or everyone piling in after a swim.

Pātaua North is about 35 minutes from Whangārei, where the coastline splits into a rolling surf beach on one side and a sheltered estuary on the other. Walk across the iconic Pātaua footbridge for an ice cream, a jump into the water at high tide, or a spot of fishing. At low tide, everyone heads out to dig for pipi in the estuary sand.

One self-contained cabin suits grandparents or a couple after their own space, while three further double sleeping cabins give everyone else room to spread out. Three bedrooms open straight onto the deck, so it's straight from bed to sunshine.

Off the deck, a fully equipped kitchen (oven, cooktop, dishwasher, Nespresso machine, kettle and beer fridge) makes holiday cooking easy, and there's a BBQ for when you'd rather eat outside. Three bathrooms with showers mean no queuing after a day at the beach.

The fully fenced lawn is flat and open, good for backyard cricket or letting the kids run themselves tired. The whole property is kept easy to clean and low-fuss, so the holiday goes on you, not the housework.

Sleeping arrangements:
Sleeps up to 9 across four cabins: one self-contained cabin (ideal for a couple or grandparents) plus three further double sleeping cabins. Please bring your own linen and towels.

Location:
Situated in scenic Pātaua North, with the boat ramp, beach, estuary, footbridge and surf all within easy walking distance. There's no shop right in Pātaua North itself. The nearest dairy and takeaways are about a 1km walk away, and Tahi café opens over summer. Wifi is availableon the decks and in the self contained cabin.
