This cute, cozy and newly renovated pine wood A-frame cabin is located in the heart of the Adirondacks. Some highlights include a fully stocked kitchen, a large deck surrounded by trees, a wood burning stove to get the house TOASTY (we also have an AC unit and ceiling fans for rare hot summer days), outdoor fire pit with surrounding Adirondack chairs, fully fenced in backyard for your furry friends (pet friendly), across from a private community lake with an inflatable two person kayak and life vests also included and so much more! High speed internet and work desk included for those who need to “work from home” during their stay. While here, you have access to private skiing, hiking and biking trails, tennis courts, a picnic BBQ area and lake access for fishing or kayaking (shared only within the private community). The cabin is close to the Ausable River and is only 10 minutes from Whiteface downhill skiing and within a quick 20-25 min drive to Lake Placid and it’s Olympic attractions. Cute Cabin but needs to be taken care of properly!
Nice cute cabin, in a quite area. Smaller than what it looks like in the pictures. No it is NOT lake front, the lake is walking distance down the street. Great for dogs with a fenced back yard and closed in porch. Upstairs bedroom stairs is way too steep, I slept downstairs because my dogs could not climb the stairs. Plenty of bath and kitchen amenities. I was not happy the lane was overgrown, looked like it hadn’t been cut in over two weeks. Grill on the front porch had a wasp nest in it, when I opened it both me and the dog got stung. Overall nice rental but property needs better maintenance!

thank you for the feedback. we had our lawn guy come through and cut the grass. had you contacted us during your stay about this, we would have had him come right out that same day.
as for the grill, we disposed of it. there are multiple grills at the lake with picnic tables and a dedicated grill area right across the road from the home.
The stay overall was very good. Images made the place seem a little bigger than what it was, but that's ok. Stairs were VERY steep going up to the loft and our big dog couldn't get up them. He's too big to carry so I ended up sleeping on the couch by him. Got to the cabin and the inside was like a sauna. Between the ceiling fan and the little AC unit we got it to a managable temp. Could definitely feel a temperature difference between the loft and the rest of the area. Shower area needs a better shower curtain solution so water doesn't go everywhere. Kept finding spiders in the shower area. Around the outside of the cabin looked like it hadn't been cleaned up all season. Leaves, spider webs, etc. Not a huge deal though. Overall this is a good place, would stay in again, just wish it would have been kept up more. Use a leaf blower, broom/brush and some weed killer for the driveway and it would be SO much better. Overall a good experience though!

Thank you for the feedback. We had a landscaper come through to cut the grass and clear some of the brush and twigs. It’s a wooded area so it can get wild. We do maintain the driveway and fire pit area, etc.
We had a lovely stay at Florina’s Adirondack A-Frame. The home was spacious enough to fit four adults, two teens and one dog. The updated kitchen counters and appliances made meal prep easy. The beds, fold down sleeper and provided sheets were comfy.
We enjoyed walks around the lake and reminisced about the “old” metal playground equipment! Whiteface and Lake Placid made for good day trips too.
We had s’mores by the fire, game and movie nights in the awesome three-season room (we loved the hammock chair) and coffee on the spacious deck. Casey, our four-legged companion, felt right at home with the fenced in area.
We had a nice stop-and-chat with a local resident, who has lived in the area for 56 years. One of the original 11 residents! He gave a us a brief history of the area and made sure we knew there was absolutely no swimming in the lake.
The only issues we found were that there was no dishwasher, although one is listed on the VRBO site, there were damp sheets and towels in the washer and dryer and no screen on the window in the loft (we found it behind the stairs). We simply separated the towels and sheets and gave them another wash and dry and folded them up for the next guests and we installed the screen in the upstair’s window. Not a huge deal, since we needed to use the washer and dryer to refresh our clothes from swimming in the nearby Ausable River and needed to open the loft window to get the air moving - as the ceiling fan in the living room makes a terrible noise when you put it on (even on low).
We hope to stay in the neighborhood again!
The cabin is nice and clean; has everything you need for a nice week away. It's in a relatively central spot for the good hiking trails, Lake Placid and Saranac Lake. The 3-season screened in porch is really fantastic - can enjoy eating outdoors without the bugs! Two things to note: the stairs leading up to the loft are really steep and may not be suitable for everyone (including dogs), and the "lake" isn't really across the street. You have to walk on not-super-quiet road for a little bit and then cross a pretty large field. And even then, it's just a large pond - you can't swim there. So if you're hoping to have a little lake experience, you have to drive to Lake Placid or Saranac Lake for that. There is a nice, easy trail that loops around the pond though.

Nice, quiet location
Such a great location in a private community. The trail system within this area is amazing, but also centrally located to other wonderful hikes, lovely vistas, and great restaurants. Truly a great place to unwind and relax, loads of deer in the area to observe, as well. My only complaint would be lack of amenities at the house. We have been renting for almost 20 years and this house was not as "well appointed" as one would expect or hope. No board games, no puzzles, and very few kitchen items for cooking (no measuring cups or spoons, very few bowls, no dog bowls for a "dog friendly" property). An outdoor grill would have been perfection. We had a very hot week and the small air conditioning unit was barely able to cool the house. Another unit, or more than one stand fan would have been a welcome addition. Beds we comfortable, but there were no extra pillows or anything. I am hopeful these things can be corrected for other renters.

Thank you for the feedback. The BBQ grills are right across the road lakeside. We have added a fan and are adding extra pillows, more kitchen gadgets and some games- great ideas! We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and appreciate the thoughtful feedback.
Our family had a wonderful stay in this cozy cabin. We skied at nearby Whiteface and came back home to this well appointed house for dinners and game night.
The house is clean and stocked with everything you will need. The host is extremely responsive and helpful.
We hope to be back soon!
The property was perfect for our weekend getaway. From the very beginning our host was quick to answer any questions and made sure that everything was perfect for our stay. The cabin is in a great location and was perfect size for me and my fiancée. The cabin is well maintained and all the amenities you need are provided. Couldn’t ask for a better experience and hope to return again.
