About this property

3br Cabin Near National Park, Fishing, River

Hike into Rocky Mountain National Park from the Aspen Tree Cabin, a gorgeous 3br/2ba with full kitchen, fireplace, deck, smart TV, and the sounds of the Big Thompson River (w/ fishing access) across the street (County STR Permit 20-NCD0390). The home is on the western edge of Estes Park so you never fight with traffic to go hiking. Located in a quiet HOA with abundant wildlife.

A 1600-s/f basecamp for couples & groups up to 8.

NOTE: You MUST input dates before the platform calculates an accurate price for your visit. Also note that there are other homes in my neighborhood, and while it's quiet and peaceful, it's not a good fit if you're looking for total isolation. For that you'll need to search about 20 minutes from Estes Park. Last, the firewood is bring-your-own.

Enjoy your vacation at my peaceful home near the Big Thompson River, just a short walk from Rocky Mountain National Park. You'll have access to 12 acres of shared wooded grounds, a playground and picnic area, plus a quarter-mile of private river frontage that is part of our neighborhood HOA.

The Aspen Tree Cabin is light, bright, and spacious, with vaulted ceilings and lots of windows to enjoy the views. The Big Thompson River is just fifty yards away. There are great mountain views right off the deck, where you can begin your mornings with coffee as you plan your hikes and watch the hummingbirds. If you'd like, you can eve walk along the river near the house straight into Rocky Mountain National Park. It's an easy flat hike to Moraine Park, one of the prime wildlife viewing areas in the national park.

If you fish, you'll enjoy the quarter-mile of private river frontage just steps away. (We don't provide equipment, but we can point you to the right place in town to rent it.) Cook up your trout on the grill and dine outside at the picnic table on the deck. The kitchen has bakeware, pots and pans, and a full complement of utensils. If you don't feel like cooking, downtown Estes Park is only 2.5 miles away, and our favorite restaurants -- Bird and Jim and the iconic Rock Inn Mountain Tavern, are both within 1.5 miles.

On the main level you'll find a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and a comfortable living room where you can watch TV or enjoy a fire in the moss rock fireplace. The main floor also features a bedroom and bathroom, plus a laundry facility you're free to use.

BEDROOMS

Bedroom 1 on the main floor features a king bed and attached full bathroom.

Bedroom 2 on the second floor features vaulted ceilings, a queen bed, and great views of Eagle Cilff Mountain. It's connected to Bedroom 3 with an attached bathroom.

Bedroom 3, also on the second floor, sleeps up to four in one queen bed, one twin bed, and a twin-size trundle that pulls out from under the twin bed. The trundle can sleep an adult, or it's a great option for young children not quite ready for a 'big bed.' This room has its own TV with DVD player, and features a vaulted ceiling and great views.

Guests have full access to my home, which includes the deck and grill on the deck, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen and laundry room with washer and dryer. Guests also have access to the HOA common areas, which include some riverfront land that you can fish from as well as a playground and picnic area.

I have rented my home to vacationers for more than 12 years, but have just listed it on AirBnB. My new managers have hosted more than ten thousand guests over the last five years, you will be in great hands. Feel free to reach out and they will get back to you as soon as possible!

The Aspen Tree Cabin is one of 25 houses in a small, covenant-protected community spread across 12 private acres. Guests have full access to the shared grounds, including the large picnic area and playground by the river. You can fish on the property (state fishing license required for ages 16+). Our community is a mix of vacation rentals, second homes, and full-time residences. The location is private and quiet yet only a short drive to town.

The National Park boundary is just blocks away and the formal entrance station and main visitor center is just a few minutes by car, accessible without having to cross through downtown and its traffic.

If you want to go downtown and don't want to deal with parking, the town offers a free shuttle service during the summer months with a stop about a mile and a half away.

NOISE

Events, loud music and noises, and parties are strictly prohibited. Please be respectful of your noise level so I can maintain good relationships with my neighbors.

ADDITIONAL & NONPAYING GUESTS

Nonpaying and non-registered guests are not allowed on property. There are motion sensitive security cameras on the outside of the building which will pick up nonpaying guests.

AIR CONDITIONER

Like nearly every other home in town, there’s no A/C. Thankfully mountain air blows down from the high peaks and will cool down the place quickly in the evenings if you open the windows.

HOUSE AND NEIGHBORHOOD RULES

My neighborhood has rules to ensure serenity and privacy. By booking you are agreeing to them: no pets, no RVs, no motorhomes, no motorcycles, no open flames, quiet hours from 9:30PM to 8AM, requirement to observe 15mph on neighborhood roads, and absolutely no smoking anywhere (not inside, not outside, and not even in the neighborhood!).

BEARS

Great House
The house was a great place to relax at the end of a busy day. The location was quiet and just out of the way of the busy town. We saw elk roaming around the property which we all loved to see and so close to RMNP. We will stay here again on our next visit to Estes Park.

short, snowy stay
Great cozy cabin with lovely fireplace and comfortable beds for all. It was a great place to introduce a 2-year-old from Florida to snow, but be sure you are driving a 4-wheel vehicle! The cabin, however, was lacking in a few "staples" like kitchen cleaners, tissues, soap, etc. and the kitchen ware has seen better days!
