About this property

Historic Home on Large Park (Minutes to downtown)

Not your ordinary VRBO! Newly restored house on nice large park, fine dining and bars are just a couple minute walk.
Located on beautiful Audubon Park in NW Spokane you can walk the quiet treed streets to the nearby highly renowned restaurants & bars, Downriver Golf Course, and the Spokane river. (7-minute drive to downtown).
This 96/yo house has been meticulously refinished, keeping as much of the historic aspects as possible while modernizing as needed.

The house features 2-bedrooms, 1-bathroom, large high end kitchen, and cozy living room. Lots of natural light with 18 main floor windows (10 with views of the park).

Unlike most VRBO's and Vacation Rentals this house is my primary residence (when not rented), it is furnished with high quality furniture, and has all the amenities you will need, more than you will find in any others, and probably even more than your own home.

->Upstairs is large bedroom with King Bed, 55" Curved 4K HDR Smart TV, laptop workspace with extra monitor, and space for queen air-bed if needed. (Must climb spiral staircase which is not recommended for elderly people, no bathroom on this level.)
->Main floor has one bedroom with King Bed and Blackout Blinds, as well as all common areas of the house and one bathroom.
->Basement is the laundry room, utility room, and has full size 1970's foosball table.

Lots of unique artwork (photography done by me) throughout house, relax watching the either of the large 4K HDR Smart TV’s (Netflix, Youtube TV, Amazon Prime, Hulu Premium, Disney+, Apple TV+ & Gaming consoles all included and signed into for your convenience), Highest Speed Xfinity WIFI, laptop work-space, and Amazon Alexa's all included.

Living room built-ins are stocked with many new & old board games for you enjoyment. Mud room off kitchen is stocked with yard games, and sporting equipment for use in the backyard or to take to the park across the street. (This includes Basketballs, Frisbees, Corn Toss aka Cornhole, baseball & tennis gear.

The Home: House features original 96/yo fir & oak floors, original fixtures, open layout of common areas, large high end kitchen, lots of natural light/windows, and unique artwork throughout.
Beds, Mattresses, Sheets, Pillows and Duvets are new and high quality (Bleached between every guest).
New custom luxury leather couch in living room, beautiful restored 1960's loveseat (not pictured), and 300+lb granite & glass coffee table.

Electric Vehicle available for additional fee, read below for details.

Newly Updated Kitchen Includes: coffee maker & Keurig, high quality cooking equipment, spices, oils, and other basic cooking supplies.
(Unlike most Airbnb's that are sparsely stocked mine has enough high quality pots and pans to cook for a small army, oven trays, Vitamix blender, toaster, platters, and enough plates and silverware that you'll never need to do dishes.. Although you should probably still do them).

The Property: Enjoy the hammocks between massive pine trees in the backyard, BBQ area, cornhole, tables and seating for entertaining guests and outdoor meals all in the private fenced backyard with access right from the kitchen.

The Neighborhood: This home is situated on a quiet & safe road with Elementary School & Large Park (Audubon Park) across street.
Audubon Park is over 30/acres and known for its massive Pine Trees, 15/ft tall fireplace, children's splash pad, basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, BBQ and picnic areas, and summer concert series.
Just a couple minute walk to great restaurants, Bars and Cafes: 'Downriver Grill', 'The Flying Goat', 'Tecate', 'Little Garden Cafe', 'For The Love of God Brewery', and 'Downriver Golf Course' are all ~10-minutes walking.

Although this is an old house it has updated electrical, plumbing, appliances, furnace, central AC & hot water so you'll be safe and comfortable year round.

Renting a car? For an additional $25/day you can rent my 2013 Nissan Leaf (100% electric) Compact SUV during your stay to get around town. It has a 75+ mile range and I have EV charger in driveway to recharge it overnight. You'll never have to get gas, and I cover the electricity for charging it. Please message me when you book if you are interested.

**(This house is not suitable for children due to expensive displays including antique camera equipment, aerial photography equipment and unique artwork.

About the host

Hosted by Austyn Cunningham

Host profile image

Hello, My name is Austyn. I grew up just outside of Seattle, WA until 2014 when I moved across the state to Spokane, WA to pursue a career in Real Estate & Finance and have been doing that ever since. I spend as much of my time as possible outdoors. Hiking, Climbing, Swimming, boating or camping is what I'm probably doing
. I like to Airbnb my house(s) to to show off some of my unique style. Buying houses at auction and renovating/restoring them. It also justifies me travelling as much as possible if my house can pay for itself while I'm gone.

Why they chose this property

Unlike most vacation rentals I take the approach of insuring your stay will be just as comfortable (if not more) than your own home. Starting with the redesign of the kitchen to be large and open and flow right into the dining room, using colors and patterns from the 1920's to keep the historic feel while putting in top of the line appliances, tile flooring and Quartz, custom solid cabinets. And unlike nearly all other rentals it is not sparsely stocked, there are enough dishes to feed a small army, quality cooking equipment that makes preparing meals enjoyable.

I then furnished it how I like it, trying to match the style while insuring it is comfortable and good for hosting. No IKEA couches, all custom couches that are comfy, down feather throw pillows and solid built tables

If your like me and like to relax outside you will enjoy the hammocks on the massive trees in the backyard, watching the birds and wildlife all around the neighborhood. Enjoying some privacy with the new wood privacy fence.

What makes this property unique

Beyond being a historic home (original home built when park was founded, property originally extended to be an entire city block until the mid 1950's), it has custom artwork (all created by me), luxury one of a kind furniture, tons of natural light, custom displays, a thourough guidebook, and stocked with all the supplies and activities you will need.
