This oceanfront luxury cottage is the perfect spot for a romantic getaway or a small family holiday. Salish Sunrise Cottage is situated in a mature forest and features views of Secretary Island to the southeast and the Olympic mountains to the south. For experienced kayakers or SUP enthusiasts with their own gear, the beach is easily accessed and offers a good place to launch and begin exploring. Chairs and lounges down on the beachside patio as well as the propane fireplace make the outdoors all that much more inviting.

It’s a lot off climbing to get to the cabin and down to hot tub and ocean front. Not great place to stay if you have trouble walking. Besides that it’s a beautiful place to stay.

Such a beautiful and peaceful little place for a getaway! My husband and I stayed 5 days while exploring the area. We really enjoyed gazing at the water from the hottub and deck. Paddle boarding from the beach was delightful on a calm sunny day (we brought our own boards). We would love to return someday!

A most relaxing location to enjoy the coastal view. Close to all the exciting hikes along the West Coast Highway and to enjoy the beautiful town of Sooke. This is our second time to stay here.

Beautiful views from the hot tub, balcony, and patios. The grounds are stunning, with lush manicured gardens and views. We stayed for a week, making 2-3 meals a day in the kitchen (it has all the basic pots/pans/dishes). We picked up groceries on the outskirts of Victoria before driving out, and visited the Saturday Farmers Market in Sooke to get local bread, mushrooms, greens, and eggs. The bed is comfy and the overall cottage space is perfect for 2. We spent more time in the outside spaces, so we didn’t feel too closed in. Definitely enjoyed the local parks, trails, and scenic drives. There are 3 outstanding breweries within 5-10 minutes from the cottage.

Salish Sunrise is a great place with an amazing view. One thing to be aware of is the lack of accessibility to the house. It is not ADA accessible as noted but it tricky for able body people as well. You cannot drive down to the paved driveway pictured. You have to park above the house, walk down an incredibly steep gravel driveway that connects to a path to the house. Dragging luggage and a full cooler up and down the steep hill is very difficult. We were also not allowed to use the fire pit as well. Just want visitors to be aware. The rest of our stay was amazing.

Thank you for your comments as they provide a chance to clarify some things. In the Sooke area, most properties have a challenging walk to the beach from the dwelling. In this case, the beach is easily accessed from the cottage, but you walk a little further to get to the cottage. There are plenty of reviews describing the path to the cottage and the majority of people are able to do it without any problem. Beach fires are not allowed in Sooke. However, the propane fire pit is there for guests to use. A phone call would have cleared that up.
