My husband and I stayed for a long weekend and chose this spot because of its proximity to a bicycle race my husband was in on Sunday morning. It was a very clean, very comfortable home base for our explorations. The unit had everything we needed and more. It was relaxing and quiet, and the hosts were available but not intrusive. We were greeted with a very nice gift basket which included avocados, oranges, and lemons from the property. We would stay again next time we're in the area!
The VRBO description for this guest house / cottage is, if anything, somewhat understated. It's quiet, totally clean, and surprisingly well stocked with things one might need. The balcony is a great place both for looking out over the avocado and lemon groves that stretch into the distance and also watching the fog come in and then go out again--really nice place to be in the evenings.
I also appreciate the fact Steve was able to take some time to talk to me about his work creating high end reels for fly fishing as well as other items for fishing. Seeing what he has accomplished--he showed me some of the reels he had made and also parts for reels he was in the process of making--was very inspiring.
Thank you and I hope to be able to come back sometime in the future.
Check-in was very easy. The hosts Gina and Steve met us at the gate and quickly guided us to the apartment. Upon entering the apartment there was a lovely welcome pack, very thoughtful. The apartment was nice and spacious. Everything was well stocked of essentials, soap etc. It had everything we needed for our self catering trip. The bed was very comfortable. It was nice to be able to sit out on the balcony and take in the lovely views and sounds of the area. We would definitely stay here again in the future and recommend it to family and friends. Thank you Gina and Steve for your hospitality.
This apartment is quiet and secluded, surrounded by an avocado orchard. It sits on the side of a hill, and the views of the surrounding countryside and the Channel Islands are spectacular. The apartment is modern, comfortable, and clean. It is well appointed and has everything you would need. We would definitely stay here again.

Tranquility with a capital T! My week-long stay was amazingly peaceful. Exactly what I needed, to be away from the rat race. The bed was very comfortable. Everything was clean and inviting. Gina and Steve both checked in on me and asked if I needed anything. Of course they had thought of everything and I needed nothing. If only mother nature had cooperated and provided a little less fog. The view is really nice when you can see it. The goodie basket is greatly appreciated. Especially, their grandson's caramel-apple candy. Yum!

My husband Steve and I have lived on this amazing property for over 30 years. The appreciation of the spectacular sunset displays never waivers.
We are avid fly fishers and travel the world to fly fishing destinations. Steve Abel invented the Abel Fly Fishing Reels. We sold our company several years ago and now, along with a couple of other ventures, maintain this small avocado orchard and enjoy life in this beautiful area.
