Completely renovated log cabin located on the beautiful Sturgeon River. Cabin originally built in the 1940's and remodeled in 2021. It has the charm of the old cabin but with updated inside, plumbing, electric, furnishings and amenities. Reed's on the River is located on 350 ft. of the Sturgeon River with 6 other cabins on the property to rent. All cabins have unobstructed views of the river where you can fish or end your tubing/kayaking adventure at your front door. The cabins are within walking distance to downtown Indian River, which have cute shops, restaurants, breweries and ice cream shops. Although we allow 6, please know that it is a cozy cabin. The cabin is a perfect spot to visit May through October as the weather is wonderful. The Sturgeon River is very well known for it's fishing, especially in the Spring and the Fall. It is also the fastest flowing river in the lower peninsula of Michigan making it ideal for tubing and adventurous kayaking. The leaves changing in October is a -must see. This cabin has a nice spacious screened in patio where you can enjoy the view and weather. Sit by your personal firepit and roast smores! We have worked hard to provide comfort, fun, beautiful grounds and service so that you can make life long memories. We will be available for anything you might need. We can be found at the caretakers cabin in the center of the property. You may see us around the property as we do day to day maintenance. You can visit the office to purchase firewood and fire starting supplies. We are very dog friendly but over the years we have been renting, unfortunately, we've had a few misbehaving pets that have resulted in us having to adopt a pet policy and a pet fee. We charge $25/night, per dog, with a maximum fee of $250 and 2 dogs. Upon booking, please call us and we will send policy form and collect payment. Most cabins in Indian River, including ours, set along the highway. With the highway, comes traffic noise. Most guests find the peaceful river setting outweighs any noise.

The property is clean and well-kept, both inside and outside. The decorating in the cabin is cute. The cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We will be back soon!

Super cute place! Owner greeted us as we arrived, very nice and accommodating. The screened porch on the river was an entertaining place to watch passing tubers. LOL Very clean. Definitely recommend!
Reeds cabins were cozy and very clean. The grounds were clean and well cared for. The cabins had everything they needed, but ammenities nearby if you forget something. Right on the river with easy access for dipping and staying cool. The owners cared about their guests as well as their surrounding neighbors. Cabins are close, which made it easy and fun for our two cabin group to enjoy each others company.

I was wanting to have a relaxing time
My relaxing time turned into a nightmare. The guy in cabin 8 had a fit over our Brittany’s barking at 8a in the morning. He said it was disturbing the peace, was going to call law. The owner didn’t even offer to try to straighten things out he gave my husband money back. We came back home. If you have hunting dogs don’t go there. To much trouble.😕😕
Cabin was great and the extras provided was awesome. If your going to encourage that you can accommodate fishing you’ll need to provide better parking for boats and we do appreciate you accommodating ours but just a consideration for future guests. Also, since you accommodate pets having a specific area for dogs to stretch their legs would be awesome. I would also like to suggest that when guests arrive with pets to remind them to be considerate of other guests with pets. That was a struggle towards the end of our week. Being on the River was nice, but whomever rents the tubes will need to remind their customers not to go on shore and enter people’s homes. Towards the end of the day on Friday we had a group of young people who felt they could help themselves to our cabin. They did not make it in thanks to our dogs and I was watching the entire time but just plain rude that they thought they could get away with it.
Reed's Cabins is a nice place to stay. Pictures do not make any justice to this cute place. We were there for the weekend and it is conveniently located close enough to the towns in the area. Pets are accepted and I was gladly surprised with the level of cleanness of the cabin and common areas. The management team was very helpful and friendly. The only downside is the noise from the highway.

The bathroom is extremely small, and the faucet in the bathroom only provides a little more than a drip! It was extremely difficult to wash up, shave, brush teeth, etc.
The bedrooms are very tight with a queen size bed. Walking around the bed is a challenge due to the 10 inch path. There’s no room for luggage to be stored in the room.
We had a great stay at Reed's on the River...
It was a perfect location for our boating vacation, conviently located to access to Indian River and Burt Lake...Several places within walking distance for food, gas, ice cream, shops, etc...The cabin was very clean, beds were comfy, kitchenette had everything we needed...kids brought their fishing poles, while we enjoyed a fire by the river...
