About this property

Lassen Creekside Cabin, 9 Miles to Park, Firepit, EV Charger, Pets!

Your creekside Lassen escape sits 9 miles from the North Entrance, with Bailey Creek running past a 3-level deck, fire pit, and log bench. Book fall now through October, then settle in for snow season: we provide snowshoes, cross-country ski trails are close by, and AWD/4WD gets you home. Heat pump and backup heat keep this 2,000 sq. ft. cabin (sleeps 8) warm all winter. Starlink and Level 2 EV charging included. Burney Falls and fall fly-fishing are close by.

This 2,000 sq. ft. escape sits right on Bailey Creek, with the water's year-round murmur as the soundtrack. Built for large families and adventure groups, it pairs real mountain access with turnkey modern comfort — enjoy the fall color now, then bundle up as snow moves in and the season turns cozy.

Indoor-Outdoor Living:

The Great Room: Vaulted ceilings and big windows keep the forest in view; gather on the sofas with your playlist on the Sonos speakers.

3-Level Deck: Our signature feature — three levels step down from the living room to the creek, with a lounge area, hammock, an 8-person dining table, and a creekside fire pit for s'mores.

Work-From-Cabin: 300Mbps Starlink keeps the whole group streaming, on Zoom, or gaming without lag.

Where Everyone Sleeps:

Green Master Bedroom (Downstairs): King bed with French doors opening onto the deck — fall asleep, and wake up, to the sound of the creek.

Yellow Guest Room (Downstairs): A private, cheerful Queen bedroom of its own.

The Adventure Loft (Upstairs): A king suite behind sliding doors with treetop views, plus a separate skylit "star-gazing" nook with Double Bunk Beds.

Cook Like You're Home:

Fully equipped Kitchen with Instant Pot, rice cooker, and premium cookware for full group meals. A Barista Station with OXO burr grinder, Hario V60, French press, Mokapot, and a Ninja brewer for coffee lovers.

Comfort, Year-Around:

EV Charger: Level 2 in the garage, Tesla/Rivian compatible with a J1772 adapter.

Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible in summer via the garage or front door.

Creek Access: Private, direct access to Bailey Creek for fishing or wading.

Winter-Ready: Come November, plan on AWD/4WD for the short, sometimes icy drive in. Once you're here, the Mitsubishi heat pump and a backup kerosene heater keep the whole cabin warm through the snow, and we provide snowshoes for winter days out — cross-country ski trails are close by too.

**OTHER THINGS TO NOTE**

Security Cameras: Please note we have two exterior cameras for security purposes - one in front of the garage facing the driveway and one on the side of the garage facing the driveway and part of the side yard.

Drinking Water: Our well water tastes great. We have a whole house filter and there is a second filter in the fridge. Please bring your reusable water bottles and save money and our planet from plastics. Thanks!

Internet: With Starlink Internet, you can combine work and play. On average we get 300MBPS down / 100MBPS up which is great for Zoom calls for your whole group.

Electric Vehicle Charging (Additional Cost): We have a level 2 EV charger in the garage for an additional cost. We will let you know exactly how much you used during your stay and charge you what the power company will charge us for KWH used at the end of your trip. Tesla owners, don't forget to get your J1772 adapter!

Winter Driving AWD/4WD: In winter, typically November through April, you should plan to travel to our home in a 4WD/AWD. Although we try to keep the short drive from the highway to our home plowed in winter, it's often icy and snowed in right after winter storms. We do not accept last minute cancellations or changes to the reservation for not being able to reach our home in a 2WD vehicle.

Heating: We have Mitsubishi Heat Pump in the living area and the downstairs bedrooms. The loft gets toasty from the heater in the living room. There's also a backup whole house kerosene heater in the living room in case of power outages.

Cooling: Although our heat pump can keep you cool on hot days in summer, we are at 4500 ft, among dense 100+ foot trees and next to a creek. The house is naturally pleasant all summer and never gets above 80F anytime of the day.

Pets: We are pet-friendly. If you are bringing your pet, please let us know when you book. We charge $60/pet/stay for additional cleaning. Below are the house rules that you MUST follow:

- Pet must be house broken
- Pets are NOT allowed on any furniture or beds
- Pet MUST NOT be left unattended at home anytime
- You should pick up after the pet in and around the property

Host profile image

Shyam and I live in the Bay Area area and love the outdoors. We visit the Sierras with our three boys multiple times a year to ski, hike and backpack. Recently we re-discovered Lassen National Park and fell in love with the quiet adventures far away from the bustle of the Bay.

When we are not adventuring in California, you will find us as guests at other AirBNBs and VRBOs around the world from Alaska to Argentina. As frequent guests we understand what is expected from the best hosts around the world and try to do the same for our guests.

Why they chose this property

Viola is the closest residential area, just seven miles outside Lassen National Park and Manzanita Lake. The year-around Bailey Creek runs through Viola and our backyard. We fell in love with this home the first time we saw it.

What makes this property unique

We are 8 miles to Lassen National Park and Manzanita Lake. Before you know it, you are back home from your daytime adventures in the park. From the extensive deck we can see, hear, and experience the creek all year round. Built in 2008, this large cabin has all the amenities of a comfortable home. There are miles of forest roads are at our doorstep to explore!
