About this property
Funky Beach Shack at Sunset Beach! <br>One block to beach, live music and SUNSETS!
Welcome to the Happy Shack @ Sunset Beach! We are a seasonal rental 30 day min. & only allowed to rent 6x per year, per City Ordinance. So, book while you can! This is our fav beach bc of the true Old Florida feel. Full of the most diverse, low-key & fun residents & neighbors you will ever meet. You will love the chill vibe. Our street is EXTREMELY QUIET w/permanent residents. Our adorable, funky abode sits just a 3 minute walk/200 steps (1 block) to the gorgeous sugar sands of Sunset Beach.ow-key and fun residents and neighbors you will ever meet.
You will love the chill vibe and you will notice that the locals love it too! Our street is EXTREMELY QUIET (notice I put that in ALL CAPS) with permanent residents that also live here.
Our adorable and funky abode sits just a 3 minute walk/200 steps (1 block) to the gorgeous sugar sands of Sunset Beach.
Caddy’s on the Beach is the perfect place to grab a drink or meal, with live music. You also have to walk over to Ka’ Tiki, a true old FLORIDA GEM with live music, 7 days a week! Don’t forget to order the $3 cheeseburger (a local secret and not on the menu).
As soon as you pull into the Happy Shack, you will be all smiles as vacation mode sets in. Step inside the light and airy living room, complete with vaulted beautiful exposed wood-beamed ceilings, archways and tons of natural light. The stunning stained glass front door greets you as you enter this storybook oasis with hand painted walls & cabinetry.
It is such a comfortable space and we even have a brand new Lazy Boy pull-out couch (queen), retro conversational chairs and 58” tv (streaming only/no satellite).
Why do they call it the Happy Shack?
Well, they wanted a beach place that made them
Happy. What makes us happy? Bright colors, nostalgia and relaxed, restful, stress-free vibe.
They have added some fun touches that will bring you back in time. The full kitchen is as fun and funky as it gets with colorful tile and a 1970’s Brady Bunch-era breakfast nook.
Marvel at the mustard yellow old school phone mounted on the wall (no it doesn’t work but it makes a darn cute Instagram photo #happyshacksunsetbeach) and other nostalgic items the owner has placed here.
The bedroom is comfortable (no it’s not a huge bedroom) with a queen size mattress, two dressers and a cedar-lined walk-in closet. Plenty of room to hang up those bathing suits! Lol
The small full bath is classic and just perfect with black and white penny-tile floor and pedestal sink, vintage powder blue walled tile adds to the fun!
Now the REAL TREAT is when you step outside from the kitchen, under the tiki breezeway. A massive PIT BOSS GRILL, complete with pellet smoker and griddle. Yum! They got this big grill bc the range in the kitchen is on the small side (not as small as an Easy Bake Oven-but close)! 😂😂
The tiki bar and stools and yes, the washer and dryer are right there, outside (but don’t worry, it is under cover). Just think about it! Your laundry is no longer a chore when you are relaxed with a drink in hand. Now that’s what I’m talking about!
You will be sure to have a Jolly Holiday here with the year-‘round Christmas tree outside.
Why on earth?? Well, the Happy Shack has always had that tree, so the owners wanted to keep the Merry tradition bc...well, Christmas trees are happy!
THE ROOFTOP DECK IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED DUE TO STRUCTURE ISSUES. DO NOT ENTER.
Our small garage/surfer shack is unfinished/meaning not-insulated etc....but it is a perfect hangout place to play board games or watch a movie (streaming service only). This space was a garage for storage, but it does have a stand-up ac inside.
This room holds beach chairs and umbrellas for you as well as toys for the kiddos.
This VERY quiet street is perfect for couples and families. Publix is a mere 5 minute drive along with many restaurants and shops. Check out Corey Ave and the small downtown area! It’s so cute! Ride your bike everywhere!! Two bikes provided, helmets in garage). Also, bike over to the Sunday night sunset drum circle at Treasure Island (by Publix) to avoid parking hassles.
And now for the annoying rules.
(I know. I know) Insert eye roll.
Hey, just remember what your grandma taught you! :)
Be a kind, respectful, truthful human being.
ZERO TOLERANCE RULES IN PLACE!
If the rules are broken, You will be immediately evicted and your reservation will be cancelled and be subject to no refund
We know that you are on vacation and everybody wants to have fun, but please know that although there are fun restaurants and bars, this is truly a quiet community and the home has had to (unfortunately) implement strict rules.
So now you know.......it is not a “party house”.
No bachelor parties, no bachelorette parties, wedding ceremonies or anything else that will draw a crowd and make the neighbors cranky.
It may look and feel like a party house bc, well, the owners are super fun, but they know they need to (and they promised to) respect their neighbors.
Don’t break the rules or their stuff.
Don’t invite everyone and their brother to park here to go to the beach (parking is a real issue for the neighbors), don’t trash the place, and please absolutely no smoking in, around or on top of the property.
Basically, all they are asking is to be a kind, descent and polite human being. Treat this house as if it were your own. You know, clean up after yourself.
The home fits a MAX of 4 adults with one queen bed and a queen pullout sofa. I Know....it’s tempting to shove and hide as many people in there as possible to cut the cost, but the owners will end up finding out (they are good friends with the neighbors) and that would be a real bummer for you.
Parking accommodates a max of 2 vehicles. Not 3,4,5 or 20 cars, motorcycles, RV’s....you get the picture.
We ask that our renters respect the owners’ dear neighbors and good friends with abiding by the rules, the 4-person maximum capacity, 2 vehicles, reduced noise levels, no parties and mandatory 10 pm noise ordinance. So you need to shut it down after 10pm.
Owner lives nearby and receives reports if guests are rude, unruly, loud, disrespectful and if the maximum capacity rule is broken.
