This large, bright, and airy 2-bedroom apartment is one of four rentals on the second floor of a mixed-use building in the heart of Springfield's vibrant renaissance. With a spacious layout, modern finishes, and plenty of natural light, this apartment offers a comfortable and inviting space for short-term renters. You'll be surrounded by the area's best spots, including 1848 Bakehouse or Social Grounds below, where you can enjoy delicious coffee and pastries, Crispy's pizza just across the street, and a variety of local breweries. This apartment provides the perfect mix of urban convenience and historic charm, all within walking distance to the best dining, shopping, and entertainment Springfield has to offer.
It is a great spot for someone traveling to Jax for events at TIAA Bank Field / Dailey's Place, for business downtown, small groups, service members on TAD, or visiting family members. You’ll book for the central location but will quickly fall in love (just like I did in 2005) with this vibrant, diverse, up and coming historic district!
The Space:
Spread out in this large 2 bedroom apartment complete with a full kitchen, separate living room room with sleeper sofa, and 2 bedrooms each with queen and full-sized memory foam mattresses.
The kitchen and living room are part of an open floor plan so the apartment feels very spacious and inviting.
The unit also has an in unit washer/dryer that is perfect for longer term guests.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the entire apartment. You do share an atrium on the 2nd floor of the building with a few other apartments home to longer term tenants.
The Neighborhood:
Springfield is amazing! It is a diverse, vibrant, up and coming neighborhood located just north of Jacksonville's downtown. You'll initially fall in love with the gorgeous late 19th/early 20th century houses but you'll want to stay for the amazing people. Join a First Friday party, check out the weekly Main Street cruise, downtown's Art Walk, Porchfest if you're in town in the fall, or one of the yearly home tours. This apartment is also literally within the St Patty’s Day block party area - so it’s a fantastic spot if you’re in town visiting during that event!
A few recommendations:
Restaurants
Crispy’s for great pub food and phenomenal pizza is across the street from you
Wafaa and Mike’s Cafe for delicious Mediterranean food is a few blocks away
Tommy’s for Springfield’s famous $3 breakfast in a cup is a few blocks away
Sweet Pete’s for amazing food and sinfully delicious sweets is about a mile walk from you downtown
Coffee
Social Grounds coffee shop for the best (not joking - seriously amazing) locally roasted coffee in Jax is right beneath you!
Drinks
Hyperion - craft brewery is less than a block away
6th and Main - craft brewery is 1 block away
Getting Around:
This part of Springfield is very walkable with multiple venues within a short stroll. Jacksonville's central bus station and the Skyway are both approximately one mile to the south.
I recommend renting a car if you're going to spend any time outside of the "Urban Core" portion of the city. It is approximately a 30 min drive to Jacksonville's beaches and a 45-60 min drive to St Augustine and Fernandina Beach.
It is only a 15-20 min drive to Jax Int'l Airport and is right off of I-95's 8th St exit so is perfect if you're flying into or out of JIA.

Liked: Cleanliness, communication
Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
As soon as we arrived we were approached by homeless man laying at the gate asking for money.
Stayed for one week two adults and one child all amenities were there for our needs & the neighborhood was great, friendly. Experience the yurt- @ the district , ask for Lee (waitress) outstanding..
5 mins from water front . Really great experiences !!
Stay was good. A couple challenges out of the control of the owner. The alley/driveway had a large pothole to maneuver and street work was noisy. Streetwork should complete now.
HORRIBLE. Do Not Stay Here. Wish I could give a better review
First, I never leave bad reviews. I have stayed in VRBO’s, Hotels, Hostels, etc. across the globe and never had a an experience like this. The pictures show a very nice, tons of natural lighting, clean, and comfortable apartment. However, as I drive into Springfield to check in, I notice a very dicey neighborhood. Filled with many degenerates and street people walking through the back alley and parking area. Going outside at night was sketchy at best, if I was a single woman, I would not feel safe. I witnessed many drug deals outside on the street. My vehicle was broken into and when I asked the property manager for assistance they said there was nothing they could do… this is unacceptable. Moving onto the apartment itself, the place is spacious and nice. BUT, there is dust on all air vents, dust on top of every doorway and is not cleaned well at all. The kitchen was disgusting with all appliances, kitchenware feeling sticky from not being washed properly. The couch was missing a cushion and had no pillows for lounging. The beds had no blankets, only sheets and a duvet cover with nothing inside it. I had to purchase my own blanket to sleep comfortably at night. The teapot left on the cooktop was FULL of mold. There were cockroaches peeking out every so often and I was able to smash one as it crawled towards my plate as I ate lunch one day… I notified the property manager of all issues and provided photos of everything and I was never offered any help.
Gave 5 stars in hopes this review gets to stay up.
Terrible location. Come prepared to defend yourself/property. Lots of homeless/transient people crowding the steel bar gate to get to the door. Did not feel safe getting out of my car or leaving my car unattended. The parking lot they describe in the post is not able to be seen from the apartment. Explained my safety concerns to the management company when we arrived and was told they will get back with me via phone shortly, 10-15 minutes. Never got a phone call with possible solutions. We found somewhere else to stay for the night. I tried to call the management company the next day with no answer and no return phone call. When I was finally able to get in touch with someone at the end of our vacation, they explained an email was sent to me and they never heard anything back from me so they figured all was good. I tracked down the email in my junk box to find my only other option was to stay at another one of the owner's locations for an additional fee. Side note, I would have been searching my junk box and regular inbox for correspondence if I was told that they communicate via email. I was being as polite as possible as I do not like confrontation but I was looking for a remedy of sorts, I would have settled for a simple apology and good customer service honestly. But instead, the rep very rudely explained to me I can write a bad review but they will just dispute the review to get it off of the website.
This rental unit fit our needs and was convenient to the places we wanted to go to. Eric was extremely easy to work with and was prompt in addressing a couple of questions we had!
