Step into the allure of Honeybee Haven, a cottage embraced by trees. It's your ideal mountain retreat for the ultimate getaway! Our gardens are a perpetual burst of color, inviting you to witness the birds, butterflies, and our own honeybee hive. Nestled conveniently between Pisgah National Forest and Dupont State Forest, with hiking and biking trails at your doorstep, this is your haven for outdoor bliss. Come, immerse yourself in the beauty and adventure of our mountain town!
We've designed Honeybee Haven with our guests in mind. Each bed is comfortable with quality linens. You’ll find thoughtful touches throughout to make you really feel at home. Craft meals in our full kitchen after a day of exploring and cozy up with a book on our covered porch and swing! Brevard and Hendersonville are the closest towns and just a short drive away. Board games are also available, as well as a TV with an Amazon Firestick and Wi-Fi. Fully fenced yard if you have a dog! You will have access to the whole house, including the laundry room with a washer and dryer. The driveway is steep going up to the house. It goes all the way around the house and is very narrow. I’ve driven a Toyota Tacoma all the way around but wouldn’t recommend it. If you have anything larger or longer than a standard SUV, I would advise parking in front of or under the carport so you can back out when leaving.
Please message us if you need anything during your stay. We are locals in this area and have knowledge of the best hiking trails, mountain bike trails, waterfalls, overlooks and fly fishing spots. Ask us anything.
The neighborhood is called Pisgah Shadows. It is a quiet area with beautiful trees and landscaping. Feel free to take a walk around the neighborhood. There is very little traffic. The house is minutes from the French Broad River where you can access areas to go tubing, kayaking, fishing, or paddle boarding.
Pets are definitely allowed! Let us know if you plan to bring more than 2. We provide a fully fenced in yard, dog bowls and dog towels for your fur babies. We prefer if you keep your dog(s) in a crate when you leave them at the house to prevent any unwanted damage. If you think you’ll have to leave your dog(s) for a long time, let me know! I’m a pet sitter part time. If you give me a heads up, I will gladly come by to let your dog outside, take them on a walk and/or feed them. Reach out for more details on this service that I offer.
Please enjoy viewing the honeybee hive, but don't get close to it. It does have an electric fence around it to protect from bears and other animals like raccoons. Don't worry if a honey bee gets near you. They are very docile and will only sting if you impose danger to their hive.
