Wake up to Lake of Egypt views from Summer's Cove - a charming lake house that's pet-friendly, family-friendly, and right on the water.

THE SPACE
Three bedrooms, two baths, sleeps 9 (7 comfortably). Bedrooms 1 and 2 each have a queen bed; Bedroom 3 has a queen plus a bunk bed - perfect for kids or extra guests. A futon downstairs adds another sleeping spot, and a folding cot upstairs for visiting youth.

The open kitchen and floor plan are made for gathering. Cook in the fully-stocked kitchen, eat together at the dining table, then drift out to the screened-in porch with rocking chairs and lake views. Newly remodeled with a fun retro vibe - and professionally cleaned between every stay.
There is an extra folding table and chairs under the stairs for if family comes by to share a meal.

This is a real lake property - meaning spider webs and the occasional creepy crawly may show up even after a thorough cleaning. We do our best, but nature wins sometimes.

Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
• Kayak & Paddleboard: Return both up by the deck. • Thermostat: Set to a maintenance level of 75–80°F or higher, so the air isn't running while no one is home.
• Report Any Damage: Please let us know about anything broken, missing, or not working so we can address it before the next guest arrives.
Non-shedding pets are allowed. The policy for extra pet cleaning from fur or dirt is a $50 charge.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
No loud music that bothers the neighbors
Refrain from drunkenness, act responsibly, prevent the police from being called for rowdy activity and /or accidents

Until I move in full-time, I love sharing it with guests who appreciate quiet lake mornings, fireflies at summertime dusk, and the warm rhythm of Southern Illinois life. I aim to be responsive and to leave the home stocked the way I'd want a host to leave it for me. Enjoy your stay — and please treat the space with special care like it's your own.

What I love most about this spot is the privacy. We're tucked off the main lake, away from the boat traffic and the clanking of docks in the wind. You still get all the beauty of the water — sunsets, swimming, kayaking — without the bustle. It's the kind of quiet that makes you remember why you booked a lake house in the first place.

What makes this property unique

You can fish right off the dock. The water is pool-temperature in summer, perfect for swimming or just floating. It's very quiet and the water looks like glass when the wind isn't blowing. On summer evenings, the fireflies come out and put on a show you won't see in many places anymore.
