About this property
The Mailbox House - get away into nature!
The house feels like a magical fairy house, with the queen bed tucked into a sleeping nook, looking out big windows onto gardens. There is a lovely newly-painted kitchen that is fully stocked, with a dining room table and small couch adjacent for hanging out. Upstairs there is a very cool study with a dome clear roof, that also looks out onto the gardens. There's also a big back deck looking over gardens, which is a great place to catch a sunset.

We selected this property because it wasn't a far drive from Norwich, and it was very unique. The property is definitely rustic, but it's so quirky and charming. It's extremely peaceful and quiet and has everything that you need for a lovely fall stay. Highly recommend this property for a couple looking for peace and quiet.

So glad you enjoyed this one-of-a-kind get away! Please come back anytime, we love to host folks from Norwich.
The "mailbox house" delivered! Serene and beautiful location perfectly located near Warren and Waitsfield VT with easy access to Sugarbush and Lawson's Liquids ;-) Be sure to take in the eccentric architecture of Loop Road!

I love it when people enjoy this magical getaway and the fun architecture as much as we do! And glad you found Lawsons! Come back soon!
Property managers (owners) are very attentive. Was comfy and cozy while it rained. Easy access to all the gems of the Mad River Valley. House was designed by one of the Prickly Mountain architects who started design-build. Other PM houses are nearby. It's an older property with lots of character.

Sorry you did not enjoy this getaway, most people really love it. It would’ve been helpful. If you had contacted us during your stay to let us know what we could do to improve whatever the issue was.
My wife and I had arranged to stay at the Mailbox House. We arrived quite late but were able to get access easily thanks to the owners' directions. Unfortunately, a miscommunication had arisen and the house had not been cleaned after the previous visitors. The owners quickly offered another house for us to stay in, which we appreciated.
The Mailbox House is charmingly eccentric, and its garden is lovely. Under other circumstances, I'm sure we would have loved it. The other house we stayed in was awesome, and we really appreciated the owners' flexibility in providing us alternate accommodation due to the circumstances.
PS: GoogleMaps tried to direct us to the Mailbox House via a road that had been washed out. There was a safer route, but Google tried to find the *shortest* route. Be very careful when driving via GoogleMaps, especially when dealing with dirt & gravel roads when there's been recent heavy rain.

Thank you so much for being flexible Jan, we were grateful we could accommodate you. Please come back and stay at the Mailbox another time. Yes, always good to double check the directions with us. Always best to stay on the main roads whenever possible
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Mailbox House as well as meeting our host, Matt, who gave us a tour and history of the property. It was the perfect place to stay while enjoying our niece's wedding weekend. We look forward to visiting again soon.
We LOVED this property- it’s exactly as described in the listing! Secluded, comfortable, and cozy….the bed was comfy, the kitchen was perfect, the property was beautiful, the owners were responsive and we would definitely stay again. A true Vermont experience. Thank you!

Thanks so much for the great review, and so happy you had such an idyllic stay. Come back anytime!
We wanted to get away for a few days and this fit the bill nicely. We arrived to a very clean space and everything we needed was easy to find. Nearby towns provided groceries and a fantastic ice cream outing. A walk down the quiet dirt road gave us a good look at lots of other local architecture that is just as interesting as the Mailbox House itself.
My husband and I spent a week in Warren at the Mailbox House for one 20th anniversary. The fun and quirky house was lovely and the fall views of the mountains were beautiful. The bed was super comfy and the home was well stocked. Our hosts, Matt and Susan were very quick to respond when we had a need and were very helpful. It was everything we had hoped for in our getaway and we would love to return at some point 🙂

Wonderful house in the woods. It was so quiet and enchanting. It is a great place to get away from it all and be in touch with yourself. The hosts were incredibly responsive and nice. It felt more like we were family than guests.

We stayed at the Mailbox house for 10 nights. It was exactly what we hoped for…a peaceful respite from the world. We enjoyed the quiet setting, overlooking the wildflowers, woods and beautiful sunsets. We loved the funky character of the house as well. Super cool and highly recommend! Susan was wonderful as well!

So happy to hear you enjoyed your stay, come back again soon!
The mailbox house was a perfect getaway weekend for two! Great for unplugging, relaxing in nature, but also enjoying the Mad River Valley. The house is beyond adorable and you practically sleep in the tree canopy! Definitely spend some time in the gardens, on the deck, and hiking up to the meadow.
Susan was a wonderful host and made the trip seamless.
We can't wait to come back to this little slice of heaven.
