Secluded cozy home on 4 acres with a live Brook just outside the screened in porch. Custom home, professionally decorated and extremely inviting. Home has unique setting back off the road to enjoy those quiet evenings with the sound of the waterfall from the Brook giving you a relaxed feeling of being in an exotic setting while you enjoy a candle lit dinner, or conversation while sipping a favorite beverage on the screened in porch. 3-4 bedrooms and a bunk room with a seperate she shed / man cave with a loft.

This home was PERFECT!

This home was perfect for our family's stay in Athens. The interior layout is spacious and very thoughtfully appointed, with both beautiful and comfortable furnishings. The large kitchen has tons of counter space. It's perfect for both the chef and others to gather. The upstairs bedrooms are comfortable and quiet. The house is set back from the street on a very private lot with a fenced backyard, where our dog could run.

I loved the house. It is very large, and can hold a lot of people. The kitchen is very large. There are two living rooms on the main floor, which would be nice if you have a lot of people staying in the home. There is a very large fenced in back yard if you have a dog, it would be a great place to stay. If I stay there again, I'd definitely take my dog. There is a park, that has a dog park, 1.5 miles from the home, and there are sidewalks all the way to it. I know this because I am a runner and I ran down to the park each day. There are also some trails at the park that were nice to run on as well. I also noticed a very nice tennis facility nearby. The fire pit is nice, plan to bring firewood. I was not able to easily find firewood around town, so plan ahead. This house was a great find!

This property was very nice. It had plenty of room for our large family and was conveniently located near restaurants, grocery, etc. The host checked in with me on the app during our stay to ensure we were enjoying our trip and to ask if we had any questions. I highly recommend this booking!

Best VRBO ever!

You can feel the love and care that went into the design of this home. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful outdoor spaces and the cozy interiors. The only rough part of our stay was all 7 of us fighting over the window seat! This home is a gem!

Clean, comfortable and spacious home with a great host

We stayed at this home when visiting our son at UGA. The home is very comfortable with lots of space, and is close to grocery stores and a handful of fast food and sit down restaurants. The 15-20 minute drive to UGA was easy enough, although a little far to go back and forth multiple times a day. Douglas was very responsive to questions and seemed genuinely interested in ensuring that we had a great stay. We would stay here again on a future trip.

Family Friendly

This house was just what we needed for our family of 8 adults and 7 children. The main floor accommodated us nicely during the day, and there were enough beds for everyone to sleep on at night. We did have a couple of issues, but the owner promptly addressed them to our satisfaction, either during our stay or immediately after. The owner was very thoughtful, accommodating, and responsive, and we would stay here again in the future.

UGA Home Opener

We had extended family join us for the 2023 Home Opener. The house was exactly what we needed for our large group - including teens and adults. The house has tons of space along with all the amenities you need. There were numerous sleeping options with plenty of blankets and pillows. Douglas was very quick to reply to any questions we had. We would absolutely stay here again.

Perfect house for family gathering!

The house and surrounding property was fantastic! We had a family gathering of eight. Five adults stayed in the house and our daughter, husband, and son live 5 minutes away. No one wanted to do any sight seeing. We all just stay on the property enjoying each other in this spacious, beautiful home overlooking woods, stream, and plenty of deer. We had plenty of room to spread out and a big kitchen and dining area for meals. The many windows provide great views from every room. The screened in porch was fun and we had a pit fire one night. Hope we have a chance to return. The owner was great....available if we needed anything, but not overbearing at all. Love this spot!

Douglas home was nothing short from amazing! My family of 9 drove 14 hours and was pleased with the room and beds were very comfy. The house was very spacious we didn’t feel stacked on top of one another but yet the family rooms and the basement made us all feel together. Our best part was the patio we played cards and had drinks. The creek and the woods behind the home gave us a nature feel and a privacy vibe to spend the alone time together. The home was just 6 mins away from everything we needed. Groceries, gas, and etc. The house was clean and very accommodating. I will definitely stay again! 10/10 recommend!

Perfect Graduation Weekend House

We rented this home for December and May graduations. Plenty of space for our family to spread out. Lots of pillows and blankets available. Plenty of basics provided. Had everything we needed.

Masters Trip

We (4 adults) stayed at the house when we attended the Masters practice round.The house was a good size for the four of us and had everything we needed. We also played golf at one the local courses (The Chimneys) while we were there.

Great for large family

Our family has celebrated special events here twice now and it is the perfect property for the 14 of us. Quiet and peaceful with plenty of indoor and outdoor space for everyone. It is easy to check in and out and host is responsive. Highly recommend.

Everything was set up to help our stay be enjoyable. The fenced back yard was great for our pets. The heated toilet seats a plus. TVs in every room. Plenty of blankets and pillows. The home was very clean. The wild life was wonderful including deer hawk cardinals. We were close to shopping food restaurants. We had a very pkeasant stay!! Thank you.

Couldn’t have asked for a better home or host! Doug was a 5 star host from booking through checkout. In fact, he even went out of his way to drop off jumper cables for my rental car’s dead battery. That’s going above and beyond. The house itself was just perfect for what my group of friends needed. Spacious, clean, and cozy. The drive into DT Athens wasn’t bad at all. Ubers were always available within 10 minutes too. The setting was perfect for a Deep South experience, nestled in the woods with a running creek to enjoy your morning coffee to. Thanks again Doug.

My Home away from home

I had the honor and pleasure of staying here for the last four months for work. It was such an amazing place to come "home" to after a long, hard day. You can hear the brook 24 hours a day, especially from the screened porch off the kitchen. Watch the dear eating from the bay window in the front. It is pure magic. Doug was an amazing host who addressed any any all my needs. He was reachable and kind and attentive. The area was peaceful and still close to town, best of both worlds. I could go on for days. Don't stay here, I'm afraid the house will be booked for the next time I'm in town. 10/10. Thanks Doug!

My wife and I fell in love with Athens when our Daughter and son in law moved there to attend UGA. We decided to buy a home there and since have added this stunning home as a retreat for weary travelers. We love the brook that runs past the home providing fish and music from the fall of the water outside the screened in poarch. While we don't live in Athens we love this retreat when we do come to visit our friends and relatives, as well as attending our favorite sports facilities at UGA.

Why they chose this property

We love the feeling of being out in the woods yet just minutes from shopping, entertainment and UGA. We love watching the many deer that live in the area stroll through our property to eat the grass or take a cool sip from our stream.
