Hiking in Pine AZ
A quiet rural neighborhood just north of Pine, an unincorporated small town on the Mogollon Plateau. A 2Br-2bth prefabricated home with a fenced backyard great for our dog. Very close to a trailhead for numerous trails of various degrees of difficulty including access to the Arizona Trail from Mexico to Utah. We wanted to go somewhere that provided a variety of hikes and it fit the bill. The home was comfortable with a morning surprise of 6-12 Elk on 2 of the mornings. We cooked our own meals for which the kitchen had ample utilities, but we should have brought our own nonsalted garlic powder. The furniture and beds (King in the Master bedroom) were comfortable. We spent most of the days hiking and didn't go out to eat so can't remark on any of the eateries. The house had close neighbors on both sides and the front but was on a hill that overlooked its large backyard and pastures of other homes in the area that was very nice to look out on during breakfast and dinner. When we go on our hiking trips we don't watch much TV just catch the nightly news for 30 min then cook and play monopoly after dinner but the TV had lots of channels for those who would be interested. It was a nice relaxing 2 and a half day stay. We called the host to get advice on hiking trails and she was very helpful. The weather 70s with a cool breeze was great.
