The little place was perfect for a short get-away the week after Christmas. Super clean and convenient to several small towns nearby. The fireplace was the icing on the cake since it was chilly outside.
Fantastic lakefront location with a gorgeous dock. Was able to launch our boat on site and get a full boat day in before check in! The cabin was perfect for our family of 3
Loved this cozy home and the lake view and community. We somehow missed the VRBO check in instructions but I text manager and was immediately greeted with all I needed!
Highly recommend!! We will be back!

Pictures don't speak a 1000 words
What one isn't able to read from the picture is the small sign along the fence line. It says: Private Property do not enter . The view from the porch of the cabin is beautiful but you can't access the lake from that vantage point because the shoreline belongs to another property. THAT was a huge disappointment. And the places you could access it from (for example: fishing) were on a sloped hill in front of another renters cabin which felt like an invasion of their space.
The cottage was marginally clean. I've never seen so much dust on a HVAC air grate. It was filthy- caked dust. It hasn't been cleaned in years. I'm glad we don't have allergies or we would have had to move.
We had large gnats in the cottage the entire length of the stay. Possibly coming up through the drains? The housekeeper gave us some bug spray but it did not help. It was non-aerosole so when you sprayed the air, it fell to the floor. In trying to get the oily substance off the floor, I discovered how dirty the floors were.
The rugs in the cottage were filthy. There is a rug in the foyer with a large spot on it- 1st thing you see when you walk in. NOT a good 1st impression.
A LARGE river rat on the porch one evening was probably the straw that broke the camel's back. We enjoyed spending time out there but fighting with a rat for real estate was not on our agenda!
On a positive note, the property manager was very responsive, however the "refund" he spoke to me about due to our issues was never issued.
The property manager did tell me: the property is NOT new although the VRBO listing makes it seem that way. It is under new ownership and they going to renovate at the end of the summer (2022). Unfortunately, a reno will not solve the problem of lake access which would keep us from returning.

Hi Liz! Sorry you had to deal with a possum. In the mountains we do have those sometimes. My team has been trying to find the possum, but have been unsuccessful so far.
I've spoken to our cleaning crew about doing a deep clean of that cabin and we've had our bug service come out as well. We've never had a complaint about cleanliness & we've had over 1,000 stays since we purchased the property last year. I'm sorry this was an issue for you, but we're going to make sure it gets fixed.
We will be renovating the property from top to bottom (including new grates) starting 9/6 and also are actively working on purchasing that property to remove the fence. I understand having that fence in the way is an inconvenience.
In the future when you stay at a short term rental I would recommend messaging the owner if you're not happy and would like a refund. I would have made sure to give you a refund had I known you were unhappy. I spoke to my property manager about this too, but they said when they offered you a refund you said that wasn't necessary. Please let me know if this wasn't the case.
Thank you again for staying with us & I hope you made it back safely.
We had a very good time, and the cabin was as pictured. The only negatives were, we woke up the second morning to lots of ants on the kitchen table. Overall, it was a good experience.
Great property and location. I wish the lake had been at full, but that is not the property owners fault. We throughly enjoyed our stay. The fireplace was especially nice and wood was provided. We plan to go again.
