About this property

Secluded Black Hills Studio Cabin Near Crazy Horse and Custer State Park

Unique property bordering the Black Hills National Forest on 3 sides with an easy access county road on the other, the cabin features a full bathroom, a full kitchen, a queen-sized bed in a studio setting, and a comfortable, reclining couch. Although just minutes from Custer, you're truly in the country with hundreds of thousands of connected Forest Service acres to explore or simply view from the front porch. The cabin makes a great location as a home base for touring the many sites of the Black Hills.

The cabin is fully furnished with high-speed fiber internet (great work from home location), expansive DirecTv package (also Roku with guest mode to bring your own streaming channels, too), air conditioner, kitchen appliances, flatware, linens, towels, and everything needed for a comfortable stay. Professionally cleaned and laundered between stays.

Rarely you'll find a single or couples cabin in the Hills on an acreage where you aren't sharing the property with other cabins and guests, but here you'll be completely alone as you'll have the entire property to yourself to experience the peace and tranquility of the Black Hills in a way you may not have thought was possible. Step out the cabin door to hike the adjoining Forest Service land just a few yards up the hill for a spectacular view of Crazy Horse!

About the host

Hosted by Don & Terri

Host profile image
As lifelong South Dakotans, and longtime residents of the Black Hills looking for a recreational property of our own, we fell in love with everything about this cabin and location, and knew we wanted to own it. The previous owner put years of hard work into first creating a property for himself before making it a 5 star-rated VRBO. He enjoyed sharing it with others so we wanted to honor his effort by continuing to do so in a very similar fashion.

Why they chose this property

The Black Hills of South Dakota have a tranquil feel not easily recreated in many other places. This property, in particular, has a very convenient location on an easily accessible, but quiet, country road while bordering thousands of acres of Black Hills National Forest land on the other 3 sides. All the best attractions are a close drive but the seclusion of this property will likely make you want to soak up the peace and quiet very few locations can offer.

What makes this property unique

Finding a vacation property without 'neighbors' vacationing in the same place isn't a common occurrence but you are very much alone with the wildlife here while also being just minutes from Custer and other amenities. Also rare is relatively flat parking that can accommodate larger vehicles with trailers.
