About this property

Heart of the Black Hills, Bordering National Forest, Fresh Air & Bright Stars!!

720 sf 1 bedroom cabin located in the very Heart of the Black Hills with wildlife and hiking outside your door. Our cabin is a wonderful base for exploring all that the Hills have to offer. During your stay let nature provide the entertainment, let your mind wander, and allow yourself to rediscover the art of conversation with treasured family and friends. Located on Asphalt county road.
With the smell of the pines and a breath of fresh mountain air, you are sure to relax and kick back at this retreat. Roku TV (Includes Peacock TV, Amazon Prime and lots of free apps)! This cabin has microwave, full size refrigerator with ice maker, toaster/oven, hot plate, crockpot, cabinets counter top and table with chairs, and Air Conditioning. The kitchen is fully equipped with dining ware, bakeware, coffeemaker, utensils and linens; everything you need to create a special meal. There are also towels and linens provided for the bathroom and bedroom. 180 sf covered deck with gas grill. Free WIFI in the cabin. We don't allow smoking or pets in the cabin since some of our guest have allergies. Maximum occupancy is 4 including all children.

Close to Custer state park, Crazy Horse and Mt. Rushmore carvings. 4 miles to Custer which has lots of shopping, groceries, and restaurants.

Since we own, manage, and clean our cabin we can ensure you will have a wonderful stay with us as our guest's reviews attest to.

Bedroom has 1 queen bed and 1 full sized bed. Living room with TV, VCR, DVD player, electric fireplace. There is cell phone reception in the area. There is a Washer for your use. We DO NOT have a Dryer but offer a drying rack in the cabin and clothes line outside for drying purposes.

Check In Time is 4 PM and Check Out Time is 10 AM.

Checkout: 10 am. On the morning of your checkout please do the following: Bring all trash to the outside trash receptacle located besides the cabin near the parking area.
Place all towels in laundry basket in the Bath/laundry room. Please leave used beds unmade. Please wash and return dishes, cups, and utensils to their proper cabinets and drawers.
Please remember to leave an entry in our guest book and online for our future guests – we love to hear from our guests! Please text when you leave.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Maximum occupancy is 4 including all children. No exceptions.

We loved staying here! Marcy and Ken are wonderful hosts. The cabin is comfy, has everything we would need. We enjoyed the quiet and the wildlife that visited us as well as the star viewing (we even saw Comet Lemmon). The location can't be beat for visiting the local State and National Parks. Some of our favorite nearby places are Custer State Park, Needles Highway and Iron Mountain Road. We can't wait to stay here again.

Wonderful place to stay!

Ken and Marcy made this a perfect place to stay. Clear, easy communication, cabin was very clean and they have it so well equipped with everything you could need. Decorated so it felt homey and welcoming. They even had a binder with information on the cabin, places to visit, etc. Loved the location, easy access to places we wanted to visit and the outdoor space is beautiful and so peaceful and quiet.

Why they chose this property

In 2005 my husband and I were looking for a place in the Black Hills for when we were able to retire that was centrally located to all that the Hills have to offer. We built this cabin and used it for our many vacations to the Black Hills. Being adjacent to the national forest we have enjoyed many beautiful hikes and abundant wildlife just outside our door way. Since we recently completed the building of our permanent home next door we are now able to share this piece of heaven with others.
