It was a good place to stay for a couple days with our dogs. We enjoyed the deck, it has a beautiful view set among the rocks. It was a bit noisy with footsteps from the home upstairs.
Excellent location on top of a hill overlooking rock formations and a golf course. Convenient to Mt Rushmore (20 miles) and Crazy Horse (5 miles). We liked the square footage of this rustic apartment. Very comfortable!
Very impressive place! Nice house, great surroundings! Previous review is untruths. We enjoyed this cozy, artsy 1 bdrm a lot. Very private, quiet spot. Great view, decks, amenities, more than what I've expected. Great , accommodating host. He put a lot of effort and love in the house. Thank you Gregor for everything! Will be back again soon! Thanks again!!
This property description is a lie. It is not the whole house. The Owner said he "considers" it a whole house because the basement room is the entire footprint of the house. This space is onky the basement, the owner occupies the main floor, be warned! He also called me directly instead of communicating through the app. The door to the basement from the main floor locks from the main floor side, so the owner can access the basement at any time. We didnt feel safe at all. When the add says "whole house", and it's only a room in a house, it makes you wonder what else he is lying about.

The description says: first floor of the house, separate unit. Everything you wrote is retaliation to the change of your plans. And yes calling you on the phone is allowed, because you beg me to stay till 2:30 in the morning, which I did to accommodate you, on top of it you had extra people , you never left the key nor told me when you checking out. It is a shame how some people don't appreciate what's done for them. That behavior is very disrespectful especially towards me after all I've done for you! And finally it is NOT a basement, it is the first floor lady. I guess I can't please everybody! It will never happen. Have a good day!

All I can do is share my experience, and it was a terrible one.
During my stay, the host damaged my parked vehicle. On the first night, he backed his truck into my car and damaged my bumper. He acknowledged this. He then asked me not to involve the police because he said he did not have insurance and asked if we could handle it privately, which I agreed to.
He insisted he did body work and offered to repair my vehicle himself in his home garage, which I declined. He then offered me a free stay, which I accepted. After I returned home and followed up about the agreed refund, he denied the incident ever occurred and told me, “I know all the cops in town. It was on my property. They won’t do anything. Too late.” I consider this extremely dishonest.
The rental itself had serious problems. When I arrived, the basement unit smelled strongly of spray paint. The host paints vehicles in a garage directly attached to the downstairs suite, separated only by a door. I asked that no painting be done and tried to ventilate the space. The following day, he spray-painted a truck anyway, and fumes again filled the unit. Breathing paint fumes in a place meant for sleeping is unacceptable and a health concern.
The host was also very loud late at night, including running an air compressor past midnight. While the property has a nice view, it was cluttered with trash. I considered leaving early, but on the third day the host left town and his roommate managed the property; she was pleasant.
