Family Fun Log Cabin in the Pines - Game Room + Slide
Escape the hustle and bustle of the city in a genuine log cabin high in the pines of the Prescott National Forest. Enjoy regular wildlife sightings including deer and wild turkey. Just 20 minutes to Whisky Row and Downtown shopping, but 1,500’ higher in elevation. The perfect cabin to escape the summer heat, around 25 degrees cooler than Phoenix! Unplug and enjoy the cool mountain air with family and friends.

Please do not come in a mini -van or sedan - you will not make it if snow/ice is present! Some winters are mild and some are heavy snow/ice - No refunds can be given if you can not make it to the cabin due to an inappropriate vehicle***
The cabin is a 3 bedroom home with 2 full bathrooms. The game room/basement offers an additional fold out queen bed. Two queen bedrooms are on the main floor and share a bathroom. The primary bedroom upstairs features a king bed, bathroom, and a private deck perched high within the trees.
The kids, (and grown up kids!) will love the basement game room! Foosball table, electronic dart board, 9’ shuffleboard table, board games, playing cards, poker chips, and everything you’ll need to keep entertained for hours. The 60” HDTV is available with DISH Network.
The main level includes a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, an office nook, a reading corner and electric fireplace. An outdoor wraparound deck is spacious, with ample seating for all, and includes a propane BBQ grill.
Warning: The deck is extremely relaxing and may eliminate stress.
If you need to stay connected, the cabin has Starlink highspeed Wi-Fi internet available.
The upstairs loft area is a great kids hang out with toys and games, but the kids will really love zipping down the slide, collecting pine cones and exploring the natural forest all around the cabin.
Whether you prefer to play a game of bags/cornhole, relax on the deck, or just looking to get away from it all, it's always a great day at the cabin.
**Please Note** The cabin is located on a maintained, but at times bumpy, approximately 2 mile unpaved road, that traverses up the mountain. High clearance vehicle is required (SUV/truck, etc). 4WD is suggested year round. During winter months, 4-wheel drive and/or snow chains are required. We can not provide refunds if you show up in an inappropriate vehicle and can not access the cabin. Please come in the appropriate vehicle and enjoy the breathtaking views on the way up.

This cabin took us back to how VRBO should feel. The owner poured love and thought into every room and it overflowed into our stay as well. So many homes now feel like just another hotel but this cabin truly felt like it wrapped us in a families love as soon as we entered. Every space is well thought out and it lacked nothing in accommodations. It was a gift to spend time in the quiet stillness of the forest. We look forward to our next stay here!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin, it is well equipped comfy and offers some fun for the kiddos. It is definitely a trek to get to it as it’s deep in the woods but worth it!
Everything was incredible. Every detail that you could think of to make someone's stay better was thought of! The house is gorgeous and the views were spectacular!
We had a great time it was hot but tolerable due to no a/c that's the only thing I would say didn't make this a 5 star review. We had a great time

We're so glad you enjoyed the cabin! It sure was a hot week! The 14000 BTU unit at the cabin should do a good job fighting against a warm afternoon, as long as you follow the directions in the house manual. Thank you again for being a great guest and come back and stay anytime!
House had all amenities you could want. Wildlife at your back door. We saw javelina, deer, and squirrels.
Down stairs has shuffle board, tv, and fooseball. If it winter 4x4 is a must. We put the truck in 4x4 10ft off the main road. Would recommend this home.
Worst rental by far! The road to get out there is terrible. Even in a big truck, you couldn’t go above 5 mph. Good luck with a car. All of the beds were hard as a rock! They were so bad that we even thought about sleeping on the floor could be more comfortable. Your phone won’t work unless you use the WiFi. That wasn’t a big deal except for the fact that we didn’t know until the second day that if you plug in one of the provided space heaters, it trips the circuit for the WiFi. Only about half of the jets in the hot tub work. The worst part was definitely the owner trying to charge us for damages that never happened. For reference, one of the ridiculous charges was for the rocks in the rock driveway being disturbed. The owner messaged us personally saying that when he got there after we had left, the hot tub was empty and wanted to know why! When we left it was full. He then told vrbo instead of it being empty it was full of beer caps. Also never happened. I had to call vrbo and open a claim! It was all unfounded and we got the deposit back! This place was not worth the money or headache! Rent at your own risk!

VRBO suggested we do not accept this reservation due to the renter’s high-risk profile and history of poor reviews by other hosts – We should have listened. We strongly disagree with the almost the entirety of this review, as it is simply fabricated for unknown reasons.
The access road is a maintained rural mountain road and is clearly disclosed in the listing description and photos, most guests stay with us due to this private serene location.
Our mattresses are “plush” rated and have never received a single complaint.
We DO agree cell service is hit and miss at the cabin. We have a cell signal booster that helps, but the wi-fi is fast and reliable to stay connected.
Our hot tub was fully operational prior to the guest’s arrival, but unfortunately broke during the guests stay. As the hot tub was older, we chalked up the hot tub breakage to “natural causes” and never once attempted to charge the guest for this or anything else. A claim for payment for rocks being disturbed is also 100% fabricated.
We encourage future guests to review the many other verified reviews that consistently reflect the quality of the home, the accuracy of our listing, and our professionalism as hosts.

Need 4WD
The listing says it’s suggested. It should say required. We booked the cabin for a weekend and couldn’t get to it. The host is very responsive and was nice to us when communicating. Just know 4WD or AWD is required

We're so sorry you were not able to make it up to the cabin for your weekend getaway! You are right that a high clearance 4WD is the best vehicle on the mountain to guarantee no issues. The road was in fairly rough condition in spring 2024 after a snowy and wet winter, but thankfully it was just regraded and more accessible now for the 2024 summer. Hope to have you back to try again!
We loved our stay at this nicely appointed cabin. We had our three children ages 12-17. We loved the game room and sitting on the patio for meals and cards. There were several deer hanging around the cabin which we were lucky to watch while enjoying the hot tub. The beds were comfortable and the cabin had all the comforts of home.
The host, Jon, was great to work with, he responded right away to questions and requests.
This cabin is off the main road and takes “quiet” to a new level. This is definitely the perfect destination to enjoy nature, unplug and relax, still with the convenience of WiFi and satellite TV.

Thank you for staying at our cabin and bring a great guest. I’m so glad you enjoyed your trip! Come back and stay anytime.
Jon is an excellent host. We really enjoyed our stay here. The property was exactly as listed/described. It was super clean, easy welcome instructions, and Jon provided suggestions of places to visit/try when we mentioned what we would be looking to do.
The house makeup is perfect for those with younger kids. Gated stairs, game room in the basement away from bedrooms, forest to explore, nature to be seen.
When we arrived at the place we knew we did not want to leave. It had toys for the kids, activities for the adults. nature to constantly see.
The biggest compliment I think I can give is the fact that we WILL book again with Jon.

Thank you, and we're so glad you enjoyed your stay at the cabin! We are happy to have you and your family back anytime. Thanks for being a great guest!
This place was amazing! We enjoyed the hot tub out under the stars, just beautiful! The main suite bed was super comfy. The owners really know how to make you feel at home, from filtered water, coffee, easy wine opener is just a few things we enjoyed having there. The makeup towel in bathroom seems like such a small thing but it was nice to not worry washing your face with a white towel as you want to take care of the home as your own. We saw deer early in the morning which was a nice treat. Home is very private, lots of separation with space and the game room downstairs was the perfect amount of fun! Highly recommend this place if you want to stay in a home that meets your own homeowner standards! Well done guys 🙌 we look forward to coming back! Thank you
The house was great! It was in a lovely, secluded area. We had fun playing shuffleboard and foosball. The house was very clean and accomodating. The decks were lovely to sit out and read or enjoy a drink. We procured groceries in Prescott and carted them there, but we were happy to find a very nice kitchen that had a few pantry items and lots of cooking utensils and tools. The house was very nice, the bathrooms were clean and modern. The air conditioning worked great. We grilled each night, and it was a nice powerful grill. We had fun playing games, cooking and relaxing. Coming from Phoenix, we definitely enjoyed the cooler temps.
** When the description says you need a 4x4 vehicle, that is no exaggeration. The house is up a mountain on a dirt road, and the trek is a bit harrowing. Just be prepared.**
We would stay again in a heartbeat! Thank you.

Why they chose this property
From the moment I first saw this cabin, I knew I had to have it! In just 2 hours from the Phoenix desert you feel as you are teleported to a whole new world. High up in the Bradshaw mountains above the town of Prescott, you'll feel like you are across the world - yet a 20 minute drive down the hill puts you right into downtown. This cabin was thoughtfully designed and made for your stay to be comfortable.
