UP-Scale Loft is a two-bedroom loft in the heart of downtown Munising, Michigan - Upper Peninsula. This 2nd-floor loft apartment is centrally located within walking distance to restaurants, groceries, pubs and breweries, coffee shops, and many area highlights, including Pictured Rocks Cruises and Munising Bay. Local host provides a quiet, clean, and classy space with all the amenities for a quality stay. The loft is a short distance from beaches, waterfalls, trails, and the adventures of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and Hiawatha National Forest.

UP Scale Loft offers ample space for relaxing or working. Our bright, modern, and well-supplied kitchen - complete with breakfast nook- opens into a large living and dining room overlooking Main Street. High-speed internet and flat-screen Roku TV offer access to all your favorite personal streaming services or a stress-free work-cation. We furnish large bedrooms with brand-new mattresses and high-quality bedding. The bathroom features a tiled tub/shower combination, plush towels, hand towels, and washcloths. A hairdryer, ironing board, and iron are also provided.

Within a 5-minute walk, you'll find Lake Superior, parks, outdoor stores, retail shopping, restaurants, grocery, breweries, pubs, coffee shops, banking, Rx, post office, churches, hardware stores, and tennis courts. Munising’s own Great Lakes Artist Co-Op, UP-Scale Art, is located on the first floor of your rental, offering a variety of unique and local art for a perfect souvenir. Enjoy a piece in Munising's Mural Walk displaying artists' creative depiction of Munising's history right out your bedroom window. Take a short drive to nearby beaches, waterfalls, and hiking/biking/ski trails or Marquette, MI, the largest city in the UP less than a beautiful 1-hour drive along Lake Superior's shore.

Two off-street parking spots are assigned to each UP-Scale Loft, the best & only way to get reserved downtown parking for your entire stay!

Our second, 2-bedroom loft is located directly across the hall and can now additionally be booked for larger parties! Each unit has two rooms, one bath, and their own entrance.

Primarily this property is best for adults or older children. This property is not equipped for small children, is on a busy street without outside spaces for children to play, & is located directly above full-time residents that co-occupy the building. Children are welcome at your discretion. Please be respectful & bring their own sleeping & eating necessities.

**This is an old building with original hardwood floors in the middle of downtown. With that brings squeaky floors and the bustle of other downtown businesses i.e. nightlife and morning deliveries**

This was the perfect spot to stay In Munising!! Mostly everything is with in walking distance or just a few miles away. The loft was very clean, cozy and adorable!! We went for a girls trip and we enjoyed the huge table to chat or the nice sectional. We would definitely stay again! Also, If I had a question the host responded very quickly.

Another great stay in Munising!

This was our third stay at the loft, and it was as great as always. The location is perfect, and it is always clean. Anything in town is pretty much walkable.

Amazing Time in Munising

We had a fantastic time in Munising. The loft was clean, updated, and perfectly located. It’s located on a quaint side street within walking distance of anything and everything you need or want. I would highly recommend and if we ever make it back, this will be our first choice for lodging.

We loved this sweet apartment!! The location was great being close to the lake, in the heart of Munising, but also on a quiet street. What a great place to stay! I cannot emphasize enough how clean everything was! The beds were comfortable which was a great plus after hiking all day. Great central location to a variety of activities. Host was very easy to communicate with, quickly responded to questions. Very clean and well stocked with many kitchen items. The historical curfew siren goes off every night at 9, but stops almost as quickly as it starts. Not a bother, but nice to be aware that it will happen! Very walkable, coffee shop across the street and also down the street. Limited food options, but the host has a very nice list ready once you check into the apartment.

Great apt by Pictured Rocks

We had a great time and are already planning a return trip. Excellent location in downtown Munising. Spotless, cozy, thoughtfully equipped and decorated. Fully equipped kitchen including new pots/pans/kettle/etc. Lots of space - convenient to travel to Pictured Rocks for hiking, but also comfortable to spend time at home if raining, etc. Very comfortable beds with quality sheets, fluffy pillows and new comforters. One of our favorite Vrbo and similar stays.

As you see, my name is Libby. I am a serial traveler/entrepreneur finally settling down in the great Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I originally moved to the area with my coffee bus, The Dream Bean Machine, after finding a retail building to rent and park at in Grand Marais in 2020. I fell into the business of short-term rentals after trading up from my first home until I landed a fantastic mixed rental unit in the heart of Downtown Munising.

As most do, I had quickly fallen in love with the UP, Pictured Rocks, Munising, and now being able to share our space with anyone ready to come check it out. My partner, pup, and I love hiking, biking, skiing, fishing, kayaking, and beaching. We also enjoy finding the best food, coffee, craft beer, and live music. We chose the UP as our home accordingly, and personally believe it to be as good as it gets!

I was a resident here when the building went up for sale. I loved the building, its location, its diverse offerings, and Munising. Needing to reinvest after selling my rental downstate, this building was a shoo-in. I was even lucky enough to have a great relationship with the sellers (my landlords)!
