The Wright Getaway is the perfect getaway spot for couples. The two of you will love the dual rocking chairs on the covered front porch where you can sip your morning Keurig brewed coffee outside or enjoy a cool drink during the later summer evenings. The fully functional eat-in kitchen boasts granite countertops, modern appliances, plenty of prep space and a dining area. When you're ready to unwind, step into a luxurious Master Suite with comfortable Queen Bed, Fireplace and Dolby Surround Sound Home Theater w/ DVD & CD Player. An attached full bathroom , separate water closet, single vanity and a large whirlpool tub for ultimate relaxation.

Beautiful Town Rich With History

Located in Manteo on the historic Roanoke Island, visitors will love the easy access to delicious restaurants, fun local shops and plenty of historic sites. Head to downtown Manteo to visit the Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse and grab a drink or bite to eat at the Lost Colony Brewery and Café. Visit the NC Aquarium and check out all of the sea life local to the area. The nearby airport also has biplanes offering tours over the Outer Banks where you'll see national landmarks, shipwrecks, and the unique geography of the island. Anglers can head to Wanchese Marina on the other side of Roanoke Island and take out a charter for an exciting fishing excursion. The Lost Colony play is a live theater performance about the well-known lost colonists who once lived on Roanoke Island in the late 1500s. To explore even more of the area's history, pay a visit the Fort Raleigh National Historic Site and the beautiful Elizabethan Gardens. No matter what you decide to do, your stay in the Wright Getaway with the right company will be an amazing one!

Historic Manteo

The Wright Getaway was delightful. It was located on a quiet shaded street, close to downtown. There were a few bumps with the cottage like non-working fireplace, warming drawer of oven not attached, dented microwave. The overall ambience was nice.

BYOB

Cute place. Good location. Short distance to Nags Head. Manteo has a sweet downtown area with shops, restaurants, and an old movie theatre. The aspects I wasn’t impressed with were the massive dust bunnies under the bed, which I discovered while putting the sheets on when I arrived. Also, when I arrived all the remote controls were lying face down with their back covers off and no batteries inside. So, nothing worked that needed a remote = BYOB ;) Overall, It felt like the property management group didn’t have eyes on the property for a while. However, the cottage itself was nice, it has a wonderful rain shower, and it’s in a great neighborhood that is convenient to walk to Manteo town center.
