We enjoyed our stay at the tranquil lakeside cottage - the lake was the best part of the trip - crystal clear! We loved kayaking on the lake and just floating on the water.
The area was very peaceful but also close to towns where we enjoyed dinner out a few nights. Meredith being our favorite place for great restaurants.
The cottage had all the kitchen essentials needed including paper goods. An older no-thrill cottage but with an updated kitchen and floors throughout.
Our Favorites:
• Crystal clear lake and the view!
• Firepit with wood provided (and bug spray!)
• King size bed
• Fully stocked kitchen for all your cooking and grilling needs including paper goods, sandwich bags, trash bags, water, etc.
• Gas grill
• Quiet area of the lake – across from three islands – very peaceful
• Kayak, paddle boards, canoe, and boat ramp provided!
• Host responded to my questions almost immediately
• Everything you needed to make smores by the firepit – thank you!
Our Not-So Favorites:
• Rustic cottage with a few upgrades – it has great potential
• No AC – one fan provided in the main bedroom – there is also a loft with a window fan but very hot up there in July – ceiling fans in the dining room – not too bad since the lake and trees did provide a breeze
• No place to store our clothes or personal items – we made do living out of suitcases
• Bring your own beach towels and extras if needed (1 face cloth & 2 towels provided per person)
• Some windows were missing screens, so we weren’t able to open all the windows and the porch screen door really needs replacing (very sticky and too many large holes in it – which we taped up)
All in all we had a wonderful, relaxing vacation. The house provided all you needed, and the lake is gorgeous!
