Perfect place for what I needed, comfortable and in a great spot. Everywhere in Bar Harbor was easy to get to and coming back to the unit each night was calming and welcoming.
Very small place which is fine. It was just myself and my fiancé. But the dehumidifier (which had to run 24/7) was very loud and located in the middle of the kitchen/family room. It was difficult to have a conversation or watch TV without blasting the volume. The heater was in the living room which we were able to keep warm, but the bedroom didn’t have any direct heat source so it was very cold. The WiFi didn’t work initially, but on day 2 the PM was able to get us the password to the neighbors WiFi which worked. We did have to park on the street even though there was a driveway, but since it’s the offseason that wasn’t an issue. All in all it was OK. Definitely overpriced with the WiFi and dehumidifier issues, but it was clean and relatively comfortable.
We truly enjoyed our stay at this lovely ground-floor apartment near the heart of Bar Harbor. Everything you need is just a short walk away. The outdoor space to have wine, coffee, or just some fresh air was an added bonus. The property manager was very helpful and responsive. We would definitely stay again!
This little place had everything we needed! It was in a quiet neighborhood slightly outside of the town center, but close enough to walk to everything (although it’s more like a 10 min walk to the town center, really not bad though). Communication with the property manager was easy. Overall, a great place to stay!
We arrived Monday evening and left Friday morning. Each morning we were up early, had breakfast, packed a lunch and was out exploring Acadia. We would come back late afternoon, shower/clean up and then head into Bar Harbor for shops and dinner. The location of the property was great for this. It was a short drive to Acadia entrance and we walked into town each evening (about 12 minutes - which given the traffic and parking in town, I believe walking was faster!)
The host advised us to grab groceries/provisions prior to coming onto the island. I'm glad we did. The kitchen was small, but stocked well (cooking items, plates, utensils, coffee maker, fridge, microwave, and toaster oven). We appreciated the washer/dryer in unit and ironing board. Bathroom had hair dryer, towels, shampoo and soap - hotel size.
There was window AC unit that worked well (we were there when a couple days reached the low 90's). There were also fans in the unit which we did not have to use. I read some of the prior reviews when booking about a musty smell. There is a dehumidifier running and sometimes we noticed it when entering and sometimes not. I think it originates from the drain the dehumidifier and washing machine use.
The unit was clean, in a quiet neighborhood, with good access to Acadia and town. It sits back behind another house. We stayed in the lower unit and there was another above us. Noise was not an issue. We would stay again.
When we arrived it was late, and we noticed a musty smell, but we were very tired and went to bed. In the morning I had a headache, scratchy eyes, and chest congestion, which is how I react to mold. I knew right away we had to leave. I did notify the mgmt company and they said that the dehumidifier is likely off, my husband did check and it was not off. But, a dehumidifier does not eliminate mold so I was not hanging around. A dehumidifier only removes moisture. The garage is at the end of a driveway that slopes directly towards the only bedroom and I have pictures of mold growing on the outside of the unit from the moisture. The Mgmt Co and the owner refuse to refund the 3 nights that we did not stay in the unit, I could not spend my vacation sick so we found a hotel for the remainder of our trip. I have documented proof from the Mgmt Co.that they are aware of the smell but it does not appear in the description of the property, This is what they said "That smell existed since the house was gutted and as an old garage it's a smell that is present at times" The listing said nothing about a smelly old garage. They have called me a liar in writing they do not believe that I was actually having an allergic reaction to the moldy/smell. I would have stayed if I could breathe there but I could not. Buyer beware!
The property was very clean and tastefully decorated with a modern minimalist style. Excellent location with walking distance to downtown Bar Harbor, walking trails (Great Meadow loop) and Shore Path. We used the grill to cook dinners on the deck. One down side is that we expected an oven in the kitchen, although there was a washer and dryer in the kitchen. When we arrived, the heat was not working and we contacted Patrick who immediately got his maintenance personnel to the house to resolve the problem. He was also very responsive to other minor questions. We had a wonderful time and Patrick was a super host!

This was our first time to Bar Harbor and couldn't have asked for better accommodations. It was clean, quiet and in a great location. We were able to walk to everything in town and it was a quick ride to Acadia Park. We are looking forward to returning.
