Disliked: Location
I can’t write a good review or bad review. The drive up to the home was so difficult that we did NOT stay. Make sure you read the descriptions very well! You absolutely need a four wheel drive to get to home and turns are absolute hair pin turns. Home is on top of the mountain so there is no lighting for the driveway and it is covered in leaves. The basement is the king bedroom, but loft was cute. You can tell the home has been updated and was clean.

Thank you for staying with us at Close to Heaven! This home is in a very private location at the top of a mountain with spectacular views, and the access road is steep with some sharp turns. For this reason, we do indicate “four-wheel-drive recommended year-round” in the home’s description. The long driveway is through the forest, so in autumn there will be leaves.
The owner has installed solar-powered string lights on some of the sharper turns to assist with nighttime driving. We’re glad you stayed with us and hope for the chance to impress you in the future!

Very large Cabin
Some recommendations
- You really need an AWD car or greater.
- Cabin water comes from a well.
- Read all instructions from Vacasa.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at this peaceful mountain cabin. We arrived during the day to ensure that we could see the terrain clearly for the drive to the top. We definitely recommend four wheel drive to access the cabin. Some of the turns on the drive up were tight but we had no issues navigating the driveway. We found the cabin clean though there were a few visiting ladybugs & moths which are to be expected in a remote woodsy setting. It was just the 2 of us so we did not use the entry level bottom floor bedroom but instead used the loft overlooking the main floor for sleeping. Kitchen space was nice and bathrooms were clean and well stocked. My wife loved the large walk in shower on the main floor. Our favorite part was the unique fireplace which was great on those cold nights. I wish it had been warmer so we could've spent more time on the wrap around porch enjoying the stunning views & using the outdoor grill. Bed was comfy & washer & dryer a nice convenience. Internet service had no issues & smart TV was a bonus on the main floor. Appliances were clean though we would recommend more variety of cookware for those visitors who enjoy cooking at home on vacation rather than eating out. Some of the furniture & lamps could be updated but gave the cabin a more rustic feel. The main living area would be nice with a larger couch/recliners for relaxing after a long day. Location was close to grocery & downtown dining. Overall a nice getaway.

Quiet stay in the woods
Beautiful views at the house!! Definitely need an all wheel drive vehicle to safely climb the dirt road to get to this house. House has basic kitchen items only. There were no convenience items (wine opener, coffee filters, salt/pepper, starter log for fireplace, etc) in the house which made it difficult on a short visit. Need to bring everything you will need in order to cook anything here. Beds extremely comfortable but decor is definitely a bit outdated.

CANNOT GET TO THIS WITHOUT 4WD - UNSAFE LOCATION
We have an SUV and could not get up the driveway. We had to walk up the steep driveway because our car got stuck. We got out the next morning but it is unrealistic to think guests are not going to have to drive in the dark to get to this house. Very disappointed in the whole experience including the Vacasa company indicating we could not get our 2nd night monies back.

First off, let me say that they are NOT kidding when they said a 4wd vehicle is needed to reach the property. Luckily for my wife and I, that is a good selling point! The home is tucked away quite nicely in the mountains and, as a result, is very private and secluded. Perfect for a quiet getaway with your significant other. The home is furnished well enough for a small family and most everything is supplied (dishes, pots, pans, cooking utensils, personal hygene products). The Wifi is fast and reliable and the clever use of solar lights along the path up to the home made it very easy to keep track of the trail at night. The only reason this is a 4 star review is because there is a severe insect problem. While I understand that a cabin in the middle of the woods on the side of a mountain is going to be difficult to keep completely free of insects, the amount of stink bugs, spiders, and other creepy-crawlies that we had to shake out of various sheets, pillows, and towels was frankly unacceptable. Pair that with the multitudes of cobwebs in every corner and the random spider webs that we walked through (in every room and hallway) when we arrived and it really just made it feel like no one had been in there to clean in months. However, I will say that general cleanliness was good! The dishes provided were clean and ready to use, the appliances were neat and clean, and the bedrooms and bathrooms were well kept and free from stains or debris. Overall, this is a great place to stay!
