Lake Daze at Smith Mountain Lake

Our family moved to Smith Mountain Lake in 1997 in the Boxwood Green community which is located on the Blackwater Channel side of SML. We resided there for 5 years before building our lakefront home in the same community. Our kids, Brittany and Taylor, both attended school, graduated and went on to college.
Living on the lake was a dream come true for over 22 years. Even though lake life slows down during the winter months, we enjoyed the beauty of what the spring, summer and fall months offered. We loved our boat rides to our favorite restaurants located on the lake, stopping by a neighbor's dock for a visit or just sitting and relaxing on our dock. Over the years, we built a wonderful life, lasting friendships, a business and all that SML has to offer.
In 2018 we purchased 31 acres south of Rocky Mount, VA and built a home and barn where we plan to add a couple of horses so our granddaughter, Adalynn can learn to ride. Since moving, my husband, Steve and son, Taylor started a new heating and air conditioning company, Roanoke Mechanical, and I continue to operate two real estate locations in NC and VA where my daughter, Brittany, is also a licensed Realtor. It’s truly a family affair!
In March of this year, we decided to purchase a condo which allows us to enjoy the lake while also hosting others so they can enjoy the lake. Choosing Mariners Landing was an obvious choice because the resort offers golf, two pools, beach, restaurants, boat rental, boat launch, gym, walking trails, beautiful lake and mountain views. The wonderful thing about SML is you can stay at the resort or explore all the many places around the lake like vineyards or lakefront restaurants by boat or car. Whether this is your first trip or returning to SML, you’re in for a wonderful and relaxing time. We hope you enjoy your visit and will consider coming back to SML again soon!
