THE COTTAGE ON ROYAL: This gorgeous, upscale gem of a cottage is built in the 1930’s Craftsman style and situated in an ideal location. The cottage is a duplex shotgun house with courtyard. Live just like a local, strolling this safe and friendly neighborhood filled with character and charm, restaurants and clubs.

Newly renovated with impeccable detail, this property features high ceilings, ceiling fans, and original gorgeous hardwood floors. Décor is an elegant mix of art and luxurious comfort, a great place for an intimate rendezvous as well as a fun family gathering.

Accommodates up to 6 guests: Master with king bed with private bath, guest room with double bed plus a queen pull-out mattress couch in living room share second bath. Each bedroom is newly equipped with white noise machines to enhance your sleep in this vibrant neighborhood.

Relax in your beautifully landscaped courtyard. Enjoy this immaculate and skillfully maintained delightful bungalow offering a fully equipped dine-in open kitchen with granite counters, walk-in showers, washer/dryer, and flat screen cable TVs and high speed Internet.

Once again had a fantastic week at the Cottage on Royal, the host was responsive to our every need and comfort. The 'walkability' of the area is a major plus. The acommodations are first-rate on all levels. The Ruby Slipper, Who Dat cafe, and Frenchman Street are all a short walk away.

This home was absolutely lovely! It is in a nice location and very walkable to Frenchmen Street and the French Quarter. The home had everything that we could need for a nice stay and the bed was very comfortable. We would love to stay here again sometime!

The host was quick to answer any questions ww had, and super welcoming! Michael showed us how the locks worked and where we could find the local grocery. The house was perfect for our group of 4 ladies.The neighborhood can gwt noisy but we were provided with sound machines. Dont mias Frenchman street, so close! For great jazz and blues!We would definitely stay there again!

Ideal location, charming home

It cannot get much better than the location of this house on Royal Street right between the French Quarter and Marigny. The house is very accommodating and clean with a lovely private patio. The property manager Michael is very responsive. Five people easily accommodated here. I highly recommend this property.

Cottage on Royal

After several past visits to NOLA staying at a b&b in Faubourg Marigny we changed things up and stayed at this cottage on Royal nearer Frenchmen Street. The location was ideal, two Mardi Gras parades rolled by and music venues were an easy walk away. The owner of the home was good at communicating with us and the on sight manager was also helpful. The house was clean and well organized for guests.

This is a fantastic, extremely well-maintained property in an unbeatable location. The owners / property manager are very dedicated, thoughtful, and attentive to ensuring a great experience. Yes, the neighborhood is lively - but I found this to be absolutely part of the fun! It's all about the Location!!

The 'Cottage on Royal' stay was AWESOME! The cottage was the perfect fit for me and my sisters (3) visit to NOLA. The location is literally in the 'heart' of the Marigny/FQ experience (100% walkable). Mike the host, was excellent in staying in touch, and making sure we were satisfied during our stay. The cottage was everything noted in the listing; and much more. The back patio was the morning/evening hangout place. will definitely return and suggest to friends.

Comfortable cottage with charming decor that really puts you into the N’awlins spirit.

We loved our stay at the cottage. The only reason for 4 stars is there was construction occurring next door which impacted our ability to relax in the late afternoons. As other reviewers have stated, it is quite noisy at night - just bring ear plugs or a sound machine. You can not beat the location! Our host Mike was extremely helpful in orienting us to the cottage and area restaurants, even answering our texts when we had trouble finding a place! There is no other place we would rather stay on our next visit -

Thanks for this lovely review. We really work hard on creating an atmosphere that reflects the richness of New Orleans culture so it is good to have this noticed. And yes, the neighborhood location is ideal. Property Manager explicitly asked your schedule so that the repairs that were needing to be made would not disturb you. Evidently you changed your schedule because they planed their work around what you told them. Even in 5 star hotels sometimes repairs are needed. Work crews always work around a guest's schedule and try very hard to do their work when the guest tells them that it would be convenient. We apologize if you were disturbed in any way and will welcome you back with a free neighborhood breakfast!

Craftsman cottage on border of French Quarter

What a great location this charming home has for those interested in the music and food of New Orleans. The house was perfect for two adult couples, the area is very walkable to many attractions. Dining recommendations from our hostess were really helpful. We also enjoyed the Music and Heritage walking tour. Do realize that you are in the area of music clubs so their is a little noise during night but it was all just folks talking and laughing, not anything unusual for such a vibrant area. Good birthday memories for my 75th.

A Phenomenal Place

The property at 1428 can only be described by three words: homey, elegant, and wonderfully located (that may have been four). The rooms and decor were absolutely delightful and truly felt like home while in NOLA. The location was wonderful, within just a few minutes walk from many of the city's best spots on offer. Finally, the true hidden gem of this property was the property manager, Michael. He was a remarkably host, ensuring we made it into the property easily and safely, and checking in periodically to make sure we had everything we needed. He was a wealth of information on the best spots to visit or sights to see.

We loved the property, especially the private courtyard and overall location. The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed in the kitchen (we didn’t really cook though). It is understandably a bit noisy at night, especially Friday/Saturday, being so close to Frenchman Street and with a popular bar across Royal Street. That said, the noise didn’t bother us and we are already talking about renting the place again next year sometime!

What a great stay!!
